Last week the blower motor failed and they said the circuit board as well, parts are under warranty but they charged $404 and $666 labor for the board and motor respectively, reducing the motor labor to $404, but only after I complained. The technician was at the house 2 hrs, so they charged me $404 per hr. That's bs. Ever get the timing belt on your car changed and they tell you do the water pump at the same time because labor is cheaper as they already there and the engine is apart? Not the case with Gilmore; the company would clearly rather rip you off, bad reviews be dammed. BTW they also said newer hvac units are more temperamental when I explained I have two Bryant units at my main home that have been working great for over 20 years without regular service. Whether or not new units are less reliable I don't know. Do your homework, the technician was fine, no complaints there, responsive, polite, and knowledgeable.

Jim from Bills Backflow Service came out and literally had the gaskets and parts for my backflow (on my 15 yr old house in lincoln) and fixed it in 20 minutes (in the 105 degree heat). I offered to hold an umbrella and bring him cold water and he wouldnt let me but i did anyway. He was a great guy and really knows backflows as he works on public buildings and if you need backflow testing or fixing call Jim! He's a great local guy and has a beautiful dog that he brings too! Also he charged a fourth of what another plumber in Sac quoted (after seeing these pics.) I have never in my life tipped a plumber but did so today!(20%, too!)

On the second day, they told me a pipe ran underneath a gas line and that it would require another $3,000 in work, bringing the total to about $8,000. I called Access Sewer for a second opinion, and Paul immediately questioned whether it was actually a gas line. He recommended that I verify it with 811 and PG&E before spending the additional money. I did, and PG&E confirmed it was NOT a gas line. I canceled the original plumber and hired Paul. The difference was night and day.
