We were going to bury my Mom but found out that the plot was full, but they could fit in ashes so we opted for cremation. They will take care of notifying the SSA, order certified Death Certificates, contact the Medical Examiner and arrange for transporting the body and then the remains. I know that this is all standard but it's not something we all do on a regular basis. So it was comforting to walk in and have them be so professional and so accommodating. I put it on a jump drive and then called Roma to make sure they had a TV that I could play it on and that everything was going to work. I got the son of the owner on the phone and told him the situation and the format I had used and he smugly said back to me "If it works on yours, it will work on mine". I will never forget those words! I checked it on a computer and two different Televisions in my home and it went perfectly and even looped back around so the pictures would go continuously as I had planned. When we got to the funeral home I had brought 2 copies, each on a jump drive to make sure everything went without a hitch. My father is the greatest man that I have ever known and this was a very important tribute to him. Well IT DID NOT WORK ON THEIRS!!!!! The television that they supplied would not play my slideshow tribute to my dad! I went into the office and spoke to the mother (owner) of the man that had told me "If it works on yours, it will work on mine", and I told her that she needed to get someone to bring a different TV that would be capable of playing my slideshow, and she kept saying "I'm sorry, there's nothing I can do". After a while a few of my relatives heard me starting to raise my voice and came over to calm me down and I went back to the wake. Another of my relatives had a small laptop that we played the slideshow on, but it was so small that hardly anyone noticed it or stopped to look at it. This was a one day wake so that was it. Aside from all of that I found the funeral home to be very "dated" and not as clean as one would expect, and the staff were basically going through the motions and not handling things with the proper degree of respect. I would certainly NOT recommend this Funeral home to anyone. They should have at least offered us some of our money back, and to this very day I can not let go of the anger I feel about this. Everything took way too long to be taken care of. From the time he was brought from the ME office, to being notified that his body was picked up and the cremation was complete. It was supposed to be a funeral home in Freeport(much closer to where I live) Then I was NOT notified about the additional 4% charge for paying with my credit card. 5 death certificates were ordered. Neither my niece or myself have received any to date! This was paid in full, one month after his actual date of death on 03/15/26 Today is 04/13/26 another month has passed. No accounts can be taken care of without a death certificate! This is extremely unprofessional and I would never recommend the business to anyone
