Rosie and Jeffrey are the two reasons why I like going to David's Pharmacy. They are always helpful, kind and it's a pleasure to speak to them. Yesterday I was on my way to Duane Reade to get a pair of readers as mine had broken. So on the way I popped in and found to my surprise that one was under $7! I bought two. At DR two pairs were $25. Independent pharmacies like this one often have products far cheaper than the big shops. Here they also sell niche candles like Voluspa, diffusers and European skin care. With the lottery so high, I also bought a ticket. Jeffrey told me that a winner had won a nice sum last week. That gives me hope! read more

Good people here. They took care of my DMV driver's test for a very reasonable $30 while the theiving optometrists in my neighborhood demanded $160. They entered it into the system right away and I renewed my license online an hour or so later. Great experience. read more

I've had a very positive experience with David's Pharmacy. David, the pharmacist, is knowledgable, accommodating and friendly as are all the staff members. I needed a cushion to ease the pain of a bunion and one of the staff members helped me by showing me the contents of several boxes of merchandise to determine the size. One of my doctors told me how he enjoyed talking directly with David to obtain a prescription that my Medicare Part D plan was denying. And the cost of drugs is the same as and sometimes cheaper than the price from Silverscript (my Part D provider). I note a review by someone else complaining of "price gouging," but I recall that every store, including the big chains, were charging high prices for sanitizer, masks, etc at the beginning of the pandemic. Those prices have now come down considerably. And David's is offering a 10-15% discount on most generally merchandise, something one wouldn't expect from a small store. And the shelves are well stocked. read more

The store is Price gouging. I live on East 18th and Irving so I went there to shop during the pandemic since it's the closest pharmacy. The prices are astronomical for medical supplies . $65 for 50 face masks? $12 for sanitizer? What a terrible time and way to take advantage of their neighbors/ people. They are despicable to do this. BEST PHARMACY IN NYC! Every staff person is smart and goes above and beyond. They always answer the phone, there is never a wait time to speak to someone, no lines, and always a helpful attitude. For a small pharmacy, they have everything a large drugstore would have and are an independent local business that you want to support. They are AMAZING with working with insurance and making sure you get the lowest price for your medication. They coordinate well with doctors to make sure everything is filled and refilled ASAP. Truly the best, so grateful I left Walgreens. They really care! read more

I was looking for the eye exam for mail-in license renewal and I was disappointed by another place nearby (empty waiting area but too busy for the simple exam), so I went here for the 30-second eye test. The two gentlemen were extremely courteous and professional, they quickly did my test, for which I gladly paid $30, and now I can renew my license by mail. David's Pharmacy is by far the best pharmacy in the Grammercy / Union Sq. neighborhood. It is rare and very reassuring to find this level of expertise and personalized service. David is superbly qualified to discuss all medications, as are his associate pharmacists . The entire staff is great, always on their game, and the store is very well stocked with very good brands. I was dubious that this new neighborhood pharmacy could compete with the chain drug stores in terms of selection and service. I am happy to be wrong. The staff are very helpful. The pharmacist suggested ways that I could pay less for a maintenance prescription that I take. They make it easy to transfer and renew prescriptions. There is a wide range of lotions, otc medications, and supplies for sale. The best thing is, they never say "no"--they always offer to look into it and propose a solution. read more

So happy to transfer a CVS prescription to David's. They moved into what was formerly Nate's Pharmacy (was SO SAD to see Nate's leave) and all I can say is, WOW. David (I am pretty sure that was him) was unbelievably helpful and friendly and he helped me transfer the scrip even though I didn't have my actual insurance card with me.
