    Let me say that if you're only buying a dress, this is a great place to shop. The sales people are great and the dress selection is pretty good with decent pricing. But go to the one in Plymouth mtg. I found a dress that I fell in love with. 90% of what I loved about the dress is the lacy detail along the bottom. When I spoke with the seamstresses at the store in Plymouth meeting, they told me that when they hemmed the dress, they'd take off the appliqué and hem the skirt and then put the appliqué back on. She actually even ran her finger all up and down the bottom of the dress following the detail, so I KNOW she meant the WHOLE appliqué. I needed the dress for June 11th. So, I made an appointment with the one in Springfield since Plymouth mtg couldn't do it in time (after calling to verify that they could get it done within 5 weeks). While I was there getting pinned up, I overheard the girls talking about how they lost a customers dress. It was a black dress due in a few days and no one knew where it was. I should've walked out at that point but I didn't. I called twice to ensure my dress was there and on schedule. I was told it was on schedule. 9pm the night before I'm scheduled to pickup, I get a call asking if I can push it back a little. I explain that I live 45 min away and work every day until I need the dress, so I needed to pick it up. I could only give another hour. She said she was almost done and finishing it up, so she'd figure it out. I never received another phone call the next day, so I went as planned. I get there and everyone is feverishly working on dresses, but I find out mine hasn't been touched at all since the previous night, it's not done. I demand my money back and say I'm taking my dress as is. I was in tears. Eventually someone came up to me and said they could have it done in 45 minutes. I asked, "with it being done in 45 minutes, is it going to be done right, or is it going to look bad?" She assured me that their most experienced seamstress would do it. So I give them an hour. I try it on and am excited, until I look down and pick up the overskirt. All of the lace detail is gone. At least 4 inches worth of appliqué is gone. They cut right through the appliqué and simply sewed the scallop bottom overtop of all the detail still left on the dress. So there was detail overlapping detail. My favorite part of the dress was RUINED and could not be fixed. They also used white thread instead of clear nylon thread, so there's a white line going all along the bottom. They kept saying we will fix it, but they couldn't, it was too late. The part I loved was destroyed. They did trim off the overlapping detail underneath, but it is ruined. Since it was done wrong, the tulle underneath gets caught on all the trimmed areas of the appliqué so it doesn't even lay right when you walk. And I later noticed that one layer of tulle under the overskirt sticks out longer than the top layer, so that wasn't even hemmed right. They offered no solution that worked. They kept saying they'd "fix it," but the skirt was cut, the appliqué was cut. You'd have to start over with a new dress, which they did not offer. They did not offer to at least partially reimburse me for what I paid for the dress. Nothing. I called the store in Plymouth meeting, I told them I didn't expect them to do anything, but that they should stop sending people to Springfield for alterations. She was mortified and said she felt that they should swap out the dress and start over. She said she'd talk to her manager and be in touch. Shocker, I never heard from them. We lost my fiancé's father last year, so I was really looking forward to my dad seeing me in my dress. Now, every time I put it on, I cry. It's not even about the money.....but it is about what I paid for for the money. And before they butchered my dress, I paid about $800 for an off the rack dress that I loved. And now, I have paid $800 for a dress that makes me cry (in a bad way) every time I put it on. The complete mismanagement of time is astounding. The fact that anyone would think that what they did to my dress is acceptable is absolutely unbelievable. It amazes me that there is such a lack of responsibility with them,and no attempt to correctly fix a problem they created that has ruined my dress. It is hard to see in the picture, but two pictures (top and right) show the detail that goes up in different areas in the dress along the bottom. The left is after their butcher job. As you can see, only the scallop bottom is visible. All the detail that would be running up the dress along the front is gone. The reason I gave this a good review is because of the staff at the Plymouth mtg store. The mgr of that store took a hit to her own sales and returned the cost of the dress over the phone for me. She went well above and beyond and was so understanding and I only wish that the managers at the Springfield store had been as helpful

    Like the other reviews, would give them zero stars. We attempted to get 6 tuxedo's for a wedding…read morethis past Saturday, 6/1/19 on Friday, 5/31. When we arrived at 1pm, during regularly scheduled hours, the door was locked and the lights were off. After several attempts to call and receiving no answer we left. Around 3pm we received a call from Stella asking where we were and had to return, again, to her shop to get the tuxedos. While getting ready on Saturday, the day of the wedding, we discovered that one tuxedo had a light purple tie and pocket square. We ordered 5 tuxedo's with 2 dark purple, 2 plums and 1 lavender tie and pocket squares and 1 cream for the groom. With one hour before the wedding and Stella's Bridal Boutique closed, we ran to Bennett's (EXCELLENT customer service) and then to New Directions (also EXCELLENT), to purchase the correct color tie and pocket square. In the end, the purchased tie was not used as the ceremony started before it could be brought to the church and another tie was used from a guest that was attending. Today, we called and spoke to Stella about the tie/pocket square mishap. Hoping for a refund or at least a discount for the error we were instead told how it was our fault that the color was wrong because the tux's were not picked up sooner and because we told her that we wanted different colors for different members of the bridal party. It was explained to her, as it was during each contact, that all the groomsmen were to have dark purple and the groom is to have white. She continued to repeat her argument saying that we should have checked the color before we left and there would not have been an error if the suites were picked up at an earlier time. I expressed my disappointment in the lack of professional responsibility in ensuring that we receive the correct product that we ordered and how she is blatantly lying stating we had been changing our mind about the color throughout the process of obtaining the tuxedos. I asked if she could offer a discount for the tux error or even if the one tuxedo rental could be reimbursed. She was appalled by my suggestion stating 'oh no Mami, I couldn't do that'. To which I responded that was unfortunate and as result not only would the wedding pictures speak for themselves as to her reputation as a business woman but so would my yelp review. Furthermore, I also informed her that I would make sure to tell all my family and friends about our experience with her small business as well as to anyone that asks about the wedding.

Staff is not at all friendly and are miss-informed…read more Everytime I call in a nice girl answers, but proceeds to get barked at while trying to answer my questions until the old lady gets on. Also, every single review I have read about this place noted that the bridesmaids dresses were always ordered WAY too big. All my peers have done since we picked our dresses up is bitched about how big their dresses are. Everyone is devastated. It's almost like they ordered our dresses way too big to pigeonhole us into getting our dresses altered there. I am not, and I will provide updates once I find out how much damage will be done to my wallet by alterations. Someone said instead of it being the typical $35-$45 it cost them $150. I believe it.

I had a somewhat vague explanation of the style and inspiration and Allie whips out the most perfect dress. Of course, I tried a few others but the first one she nabbed for me to try was the winner! Allie went above and beyond to take photos so that I could include my older brother who was unable to attend. If you are looking for another style, the staff don't hestiate on going to their other locations to grab a dress for you to try on. The ballroom is large and you don't get overwhelmed since the dresses are all so well organized. The selection is massive with all colors, styles, and aesthetics accounted for. If you are in Philadelphia or the suburbs of Philadelphia, honestly this is the only bridal salon you need to visit! I absolutely loved my experience here for getting my wedding dress and wholeheartedly recommend.

(worth the read from someone who purchased their dress at this awful place)…read more My first visit to L&H was fabulous with Tara - she helped me find my dress, and made the entire process enjoyable (she knew exactly what I wanted after asking all the right questions). However, the great experience stopped there. I also ordered my bridesmaid dresses through L&H, but when they came in, they were a completely different color. The manager assured me that they would work with the manufacturer to have them reshipped quickly, with a deadline of a month before my wedding (3 of my bridesmaids lived out of town)... that did not happen, and I had to be the one to call continuously asking where they were, until they finally came in just 3 weeks from my wedding (oh, and they still weren't the correct color, but at this point, there was nothing I could do). This is where it all went downhill. I had the WORST experience having my dress fitted. Lucy, the seamstress (who I later figured out was the OWNER), was rude every time I went in there, made my dress fit worse than it originally fit, and made awful body shaming comments to me and 3 of my bridesmaids). Needless to say, I couldn't complain to the owner... My first fitting: Lucy came in for a solid 3 minutes. I asked her to make the bra area smaller to fit my small chest, and she told me to wear cutlets... she then pinned me where I asked her to take it out around my stomach, and bring up the straps somewhat. Then left. I was in and out in 10 minutes. My second fitting: I brought my two bridesmaids thinking their dresses would be in, as it was past the date they promised.. they were not in. My dress fit WORSE than when it first came in. She had not taken anything out of the waist and took the straps in so much that I could barely fit them over my shoulders. I expressed my concern and then sent a detailed email showing how the dress fit at my first fitting, to then, so that she could fix it properly. I was now less than a month out from my wedding and very distraught, but figured I would give them another shot. My third fitting (I requested this one because they wanted me to come back just for a final fitting a week before the wedding, but I did not trust that it would actually fit). At this point, I tried on my dress and noticed where it had been taken out- it was bumpy (I had light beading), so I asked if I could talk to Lucy... in which she came in and said "what's wrong now?". To the BRIDE. I asked her if she had finished taking out my dress, or if she still had to do so, to which she responded "it is done, that is the best I could do", and I explained and showed her that it did not lay flat, that it looked bad, and you could tell it had been taken out. She said again "that is the best I could do, it will lay flatter after it is pressed", turned around, and walked out. I was appalled, but at this point did not want her touching my dress again. I was too scared to complain to anyone or ask her to fix it because I was honestly worried she would do something to mess it up further. I asked around and found another seamstress who could help if I came back in and it still looked bad. Lucy (the owner) also asked my bridesmaid "what she was going to do with what little boobs she had" when she asked to have it adjusted (again, basically telling her to wear a bra), and made my other bridesmaid cry after asking her "what she planned on doing with all her fat" and told her to wear Spanx, when she was 2 months postpartum. Lucy also tailored two of the bridesmaid dresses and made them fit worse than when they originally tried them on (there is a theme here). The shop would not refund them the money. RUN from this place. They made an experience that was supposed to be wonderful, absolutely dreadful.
