I took my daughter shopping for her first prom dress - showed up at Davids Bridal not knowing what to expect. I am not good at dress shopping at all so I was going to rely heavily on what my daughter was looking for - and I would offer what advice I could.. My daughter was nervous, she knew what she liked but didn't know how to find the perfect dress for prom. Well, Shaquell came over and started helping us..before long my daughter was smiling and having a great time. Shaquell gave some advice without being pushy..the dress my daughter found was a different color than she was thinking she wanted - Shaquell had brought over several different colors in different styles - and I got to talking to her, she was so genuine and nice. There is nothing like the look I saw on my daughter's face when she had her perfect dress on looking at herself in the mirror -..Not only did Shaquell pick the perfect dress out, she helped with the shoes and accessories - which all made the perfect outfit. my name is michelle, i just found a davids bridal card while cleaning out my purse. and it said please rate me on yelp . i totally forgot to do this when she asked me, so sorry for the delay, I came in about 3 months ago to buy my dress. I was greeted by a girl i think her name was magie or something of that sort. She was one of the most unpleasant girls i have ever met. I don't know if it was because she was younger or what but I'm 52 , and when i go into a store i expect to be greeted with a smile and a graceful greeting. Not "hi, I'm super tired today sorry that sounded so lame".with that being said, i would have reviewed this and given davids bridal 1 star, but i had a stylist named desirae and she was the best . My friend and I loved working with a girl who had so much passion for her job. She gave us a lot of advice, and it seemed meaningful, not like she was trying to get a sale from us. She told us about her kids, and conversed with us like we were on a lunch date. i would have to say desirae did a great job finding a dress for me. What was even better was that I am a plus size woman and she found the perfect dress for my body type. I live in puerto rico, but if i didn't I would be there all the time buying my formal dress from her, or davids bridal. I LOVE the David's Bridal in Rapid City. I have been a customer of this store for several years. Initially, I mostly purchased cocktail dresses and shoes every fall to wear at my employers annual gala, but last summer I came in to shop for my wedding dress. I received phenomenal customer service from Nina when I made my appointment and Shaq helped me to find the dress of my dreams. I had a few dresses in mind when I came in to try on, and when the ones I had on my list weren't quite right in reality, Shaq knew exactly what to suggest as alternatives. She also helped me to select a perfect crystal sash that really took my dress to the next level of gorgeous. My dress is sincerely perfect and was a huge hit at my wedding. I really appreciate the customer service all around at this store. It doesn't feel pushy and for me that is so critical. The ladies who work in this store are genuine and down to earth, which is something I value immensely. Just as an FYI, I went for the credit card program, which took 5 minutes to process and was super helpful at no interest for 6 months. I also purchased the preservation kit at the discounted rate when I purchased my dress and it turned out to be SO easy. I loved being able to just put my dress in a box after the wedding, ship it away and have it come back absolutely pristine in its delightful display box. read more

The wedding dress I bought two years ago didn't work anymore (long story). So, with only three months to go, I called David's Bridal to see if they accommodate plus-sized brides. They go up to a size 30, I found out. Although I'd love to have even more size range, I was ecstatic. I made an appointment for the following day. During my visit, Sara helped me, and Paula tag teamed her, so I was always trying on new dresses. They laughed with me, suggested brilliant ways of improving my look, and, when I got a bit overheated, brought me water and chatted with me until I cooled down. Sara was delightful, asking me about my look, my budget, and my timetable. Over an hour passed, and I finally found the dress of my dreams. I am so in love with this dress! Best of all, it was literally half what I paid for my previous dress. I am blown away by the reasonable prices, the range of sizes, and the free and/or low-cost alterations. Folks, I am a size 26 bride with only three months till her wedding, and Davis's Bridal not only had tons of gorgeous dresses but are altering my dress for very little money. I loved my experience at davids bridal ! I went in and already had a dress picked out . I wasn't quite sure with my decision , so they helped me to make sure I was set with my decision ! I ended up picking an entirely new dress . I loved my dress t was perfect ! They also helped me pin down colors which was difficult for me ! I changed my colors about 10 times . But I ended up picking colors that I loved and that I am super proud of ! They helped exchanging my bridesmaids dresses for the right colors and sizes ! They were awesome ! The last part was my alterations which I would recommend to anyone ! She did a great job fixing my bustle . It made the dress so much better . Tami was excellent and made me feel comfortable ! I am sooooo impressed with the customer service! I bought a dress and then lost a lot of weight and had to exchange it for a smaller size which they did right away. Once I received the smaller size I tried it on and really did not like the dress any longer. It just didnt look the same on me once I was smaller. With only two months until my wedding I went in and explained what happened and their response was "well we need to find you a dress you love!" And we did! AND it was a straight across exchange! The consultant Kenzie and her manager Paula were ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!! They went out of their way to make sure I was happy and never once made me feel guilty for changing my mind! The new dress I chose was discontinued and they had to call different stores to find it... I had the new dress in less than a WEEK!!!! Now my wedding day will be everything I've dreamed it would be! I recently purchased my dress at the David's Bridal in Rapid City, South Dakota. My appointment was only an hour. I ran a bit late and they were very understanding and accommodating. My dress specialist was Susan. She was amazing. She was calm, competent and very patient. She allowed me to peruse the dresses and she made suggestions. She was flexible and helpful without being overbearing or too pushy. I could not have had a better person to help me pick my special dress. Towards the end of the appointment, I was not 100% sold on any of the dresses. Susan and I went back out in the dresses for one last look, and she found a dress that I fell instantly in love with. I had scheduled appointments for me and my bridesmaids to try on dresses. The staff, specifically Rhea, was phenomenal! I had no idea what style of dress I wanted and she was super helpful and extremely patient with me! Rhea was knowledgable in their selections and styles and helped me narrow down what dresses I liked and didn't like. Rhea made an already exciting experience so much more fun and helped me find the dress! She was attentive and listened to my thoughts to the point that she knew that I was going to love the dress I ended up picking before I tried it on. The staff at David's Bridal was great!! Nina Davis helped me out in a crisis for the color I needed for my flower girl. They all help with great and honest input in all areas. Best experience I could ever ask for. Thank you for making me and my special day feel truly special! I also had my dress altered there and I lost some weight causing my dress to be too big and very expensive to alter. They allowed me to exchange my dress for a different size to reduce alteration costs. Those gals were amazing and they helped me with matching accessories with my wedding dress and gave honest opinions about the different pieces. Highly recommend them. I recently purchased my wedding dress here. It was an amazing experience. Desiree was so helpful and fun to work with. She listened to what I was looking for and helped me find one that was off the clearance rack. Even though I purchased a dress off the rack, I still walked out with a gorgeous dress. We went to another store downtown before purchasing the David's dress to make sure there wasn't another dress out there for me and the experience was not as great. They were very condescending about my not wanting to drop a ton of money on my dress. Even if I had found a dress there, I'm not sure I would have purchased it. I called David's Bridal today to set up an appointment, told them I have 2 months until my wedding and that my budget was kind of tight and the first words out the their mouth were "well we will make sure you leave with a dress today!" From the moment I walked in I felt comfortable and welcome in the store. Maggie was in charge of helping me today and she was great! I went to David's Bridal to try on wedding dresses last year and had a great experience! Everyone there was very friendly and attentive the entire time and my bridal consultant, Kelsey, was awesome! She helped point me to dresses I might like, but also let me roam around and look at dresses on my own. She also picked out a couple different styles for me to try on so I could see how they fit and help me narrow down what I was looking for, which made the whole dress shopping experience much easier. My husband and I took our daughter in to shop for a prom dress. This is her first prom and we wanted every step of the process to be memorable for her. Our stylist was Tiffany. Our daughter had some anxiety issues about body image that Tiffany quickly recognized. She suggested dresses that were perfect for our daughter and made recommendations as well. A small alteration needed to be made and the alterations department made the change on the spot and we walked out with the ready-to-wear perfect dress. I was SO happy with my experience! I felt very overwhelmed by my family both times I tried on gowns. The staff were very kind and able to step up for me and say no to things that I couldn't bring myself to say no to. They made the whole process an incredibly smooth experience, and even enjoyable to the point we wound up purchasing my favorite dress off the rack.
