My first experience in David's Bridal was very good, although this was the last time I was impressed with the service. I had a fantastic stylist in the Watford branch who helped me find the perfect dress. At the alterations appointment I was told I couldn't make the alterations that I had been told I could do originally. They then forgot my appointment to pick up the dress meaning it wasn't finished and I was recommended to take it elsewhere. When I got the dress back, the finish to the dress was far from satisfactory with threads coming off the dress. I was very disappointed with my experience of David's Bridal and will not be recommending it to anyone else read more

I was so so happy with what I got from David's - but this wedding dress shopping malarkey takes work! While initially annoyed that I couldn't try anything on without an appointment, I realised on my next visit that the place just couldn't function without doing so - some weekends the place would be the most heaving spot in Westfield! I must've had about 7 appointments over the past few months - narrowing down the dresses (which takes a lot of effort - there's a lot of rubbish to sift through!), picking the dress, alterations, choosing the bridesmaid dresses, collecting them, final fitting! They always managed to find an appointment time to suit me in the evenings and weekends. I found it quite hit and miss as to who you get served by as some assistants are way more on the ball than others. The girl who looked after us when I actually picked my dress was new and pretty useless - my sister spotted my eventual dress on the sale rail! My alterations lady was a star though and helped my strapless vision find a way, even when her colleague said I wouldn't be able to do it. They're all amazingly polite and complimentary though which is always a nice confidence boost! My bridesmaids also had great fun finding dresses to suit them - I let them pick their own different styles then ordered them in the same colour. It was so much easier than schlepping around the high street as they have so many different shapes and designs all in one place, and probably similarly priced. Be warned that you usually need a decent lead time (10wks minimum) as the dresses are all shipped from the US. I would say I'll be back - but I'm only planning to do it once! Though it's a lot of fun (if a little cheesy) ringing their special bell when you say yes to your dress ;) I'd defo recommend this place to others for the range of choice and minimal hassle, and if you're not the one trying on there is some truly amazing people-watching on offer. Top tips: look out for their sale items and don't be shy about getting stuck in and having a good rummage around - it paid off for me! read more

Bianca helped me and was very lovely to me and my companions. Very large space and there were high-heeled shoes that I could borrow to try on with the dresses as well as veils and bouquets of silk flowers so you could take photos with the full effect :) I didn't pick my dress but it was quite helpful to see different styles and shapes. I looked at the online catalog PDF to select a few dresses before I arrived (and I saved screenshots of them), so we knew where to start. Overall the experience took the whole 1.5 hours but we left quite satisfied and with a better idea of what to look for next time. Some of the clearance/sale rack dresses looked tempting too, just that I didn't have time to try them on. read more

Hmmm, I feel a little mean posting this as they don't have any other reviews yet...but I wasn't very impressed with David's bridal. We just had a look around, so didn't need an appointment...but you'll need to make an appointment if you want to try anything on. They must spend tonnes on advertising as I saw them in my facebook feed loooads when I first got engaged...and (I'm a sucker for clicking links) so I took a peek and liked the look of some of their bridesmaid dresses online. I also liked the way you can choose a dress shape, and then choose the colour...so your bridesmaids can choose a style that suits them, and you can just choose the colour to be match-y. However when I wandered in to take a peek at the actual dresses (with my girlies) they just didn't look that nice. The quality seemed pretty rubbish considering the high price tags...and lots of them were just so, well, chavvy. It was fun to have a giggle and look at some of the slightly loopy styles, but I'm just not quite mean enough to ask my friends to wear something like that. read more

Had a bridal appointment at David's Bridal yesterday - my first ever bridal experience - and to say I was disappointed is an understatement. Firstly, it was too busy (at certain points I was stepping on other brides) and felt more like a conveyor belt system than a bridal shop. As well as that, having such a small space to manoeuvre in large dresses was extremely difficult. Secondly, although staff were very polite and friendly, I didn't feel their assistance was that great. When I was approached by one member of staff (just prior to meeting my stylist) and asked what type of dress I liked, having explain I'm looking for a rustic style, she replied 'well, anything could be rustic' and offered no further help. My stylist was then flitting between me and another bride, which made it difficult to discuss possible alterations or other types of dresses. This became an issue at one point when I was stuck in a heavy dress, with no other dresses to try on and no one to assist with getting me out of the one I was standing, quite honestly, sweating in. I was very excited prior to the appointment and it was upsetting that the service wasn't what I was hoping for - with my bridesmaids receiving similar treatment at their appointment. It was a shame and definitely not recommended for a first experience. That being said, they do have some beautiful dresses - I particularly liked the Vera Wang collection. read more

Searching for your perfect wedding dress is a real headache. There are how many shops in London again? How many in outer London? And they all have different dresses from different designers and different prices and fittings? How will you ever be able to cope with this on top of the thousands and thousands of little details you are arranging for your wedding? One thing that is so good about this shop is convenience. It's a huge shop space situated in Westfield Stratford. Bridal dresss? Book an appointment and go upstairs! Bridesmaids and mother of the bride? Shoes? Go downstairs please, browse the racks and racks of multi coloured dresses to your heart's content! As per the other two reviews already available for this shop, when you book your first bridal appointment, you get an hour to try on a few dresses. Usually they only let you try on 3 and this is where you try to figure out whether you fit into an A-Line, drop-waist, princess, ball-gown, fish-tail, etc etc. Sometimes if the lady is really nice you could even try and squeeze into 5 gowns in one session, but you better be quick getting in and out of those dresses! Have no fear however, if one hour is not enough. I recommend coming back again on another appointment, although sometimes you feel like they just want you to pick your dress right there and then in that hour, it's just not possible for something this expensive! You should narrow down your type of dress and come back and try it on again. I tried on my dress 3 times before I decided to buy it, and I also made sure to go to a wedding show where David's Bridal had a stand because they give you a £50 voucher off your dress. Once you bought your dress here you also get given a VIP card and 10% off all accessories. In January they had a sale and even in February the shoes were marked down from £85 to £15 so I grabbed a pair for my mum and ordered another pair full price which wasn't available because the shoes (from Rainbow Club - and also available at John Lewis next door at more expensive prices) were very very comfortable indeed and I could imagine myself wearing these at my wedding. Veil was also 10% off with the card! I've had good and bad experiences here but it really depends on who is serving you because this is a very busy store. One Sunday I turned up at 12 and people were queuing outside! This wedding business is stressful for everyone involved so just try and take a step back, because trying on wedding dresses is a fun experience and don't let the stress of not finding the one take over! Things to consider: Dresses are delivered from their USA branch. Usually takes maximum 3 months to arrive. You can get it delivered to your house at a cost or pick up in store for free. Alterations - you should take your dress back to the shop 2 months before your wedding. Charged separately. read more

Picture the scene. You're in Primark. It's three days before Christmas. Clammy women desperately paw at £10 dresses as disinterested staff battle a Sisyphean task, scooping clothing off the floor and onto racks as they look around with dead, dispassionate stares. Except it's not Primark. It's a weekend in March, and you're at David's Bridal, where the dresses cost upwards of hundreds of pounds, not tens. I'm inclined to believe that shopping for what is likely to be the most expensive dress of your life should be a pleasant experience. Not so at David's. Unless you're into stained gowns and dreadful customer service, best give this place a swerve. The final straw was being forcefully ejected from our fitting rooms twenty minutes into an hour long appointment, with the sales assistants suggesting we squeeze the four of us bridesmaids into one cubicle. The only saving grace? You can take photos. Not that you will really want to, as you're packed in so tight you'll just end up with a lot of shots of yourself in a bad frock with other women's arses in the background. My first appointment was great, the staff were friendly and I bought my dress and bridesmaids dress and put a veil and slip on hold - so I spent a lot of money! Following that everything went downhill, when I collected my dress it had a rip in it so they had to reorder another one. They forgot to order my slip and veil despite telling me days before my next appointment that it was in the store waiting for me. The only slip they could give me was an old, dirty sample in the wrong size and they wouldn't offer me a discount. Finally, the alterations were completely wrong. I paid extra for a rush appointment so picked my dress up 2 days after my fitting (which they offered for free when I purchased my dress, because I live overseas and would only be home a couple of days before the wedding, but then charged me for it) it was so tight it wouldn't do up and needed another 2 inches taken of the length. I honestly don't know how they could get it so wrong. The Stratford manager was rude and incredibly unhelpful. I hugely regret shopping at David's bridal. read more

What should have been a fun, special event was extremely lacklustre when I visited this bridal shop a few weeks ago. While nothing went wrong- the selection is really limited and the lady helping me had no idea about the stock, sizes or anything. Was no help to pick out matching veils or shoes or anything. Customer service of David's Bridal is terrible ! I think when all goes well, it is great but when they mess up... they are unable to fix it efficiently ! I ordered my dress on March 2017 for a wedding on October 6th, 2017. Before my order, they told me the dress would arrive on August 20th at the latest. (of course I did all my wedding planning according to this information) On July 7th, I received an email saying that the dress arrived on store. I had my dress shipped to me. When I opened the box, it was the wrong dress (wrong brand and wrong size!!) I contacted the store directly, sent photos as requested I had to contact several times the customer service by phone and emails to get an answer about my situation. David's Bridal sent UPS to take back my wrong dress and told me they re-ordered my dress. Before re-ordering my dress, they did not check when it will arrive on store. Problem is my dress is a special order as it is extra long, then it will take more time to arrive. One manager told me she would do the best to get it for August 20th Today, as I did not have news from them, I called and learnt that the dress will arrive on October 1st... For a wedding on October 6th This is a big joke, they cannot be serious !! That's a BIG NO for me ! (of course, I had to call to have this information, otherwise, nobody would bother to contact me ) Then they offered to send me the dress in regular length for Tuesday August 22nd. BIG NO again ! If I ordered an extra length, it is because I am tall and will have heels with 8cm. What do they want me to do with a regular length !! They messed up twice with the order of my dress I really have the impress to be played around. Obviously my dress won't arrive on August 20th as it was agreed TWICE, then I just want a full refund of the dress to go somewhere else. From the beginning of this issue, it was a DISASTER. Communication is very bad. EVERYTIME I had to call them to have update. Solutions offered are out of interest and unacceptable. Honestly they give the impress that they really don't care and take problems not seriously Now I just want one thing, the full refund of my dress and end of story. It's not very often in modern life I have had such great, personal service over an extended period of time. I am over the moon with my wedding dress, and the service was so friendly and professional. I cannot recommend enough! If you are looking for a personalised service dont go there.... I booked 5 weeks in advance and when I arrived was told I would be sharing a stylist/consultant and it all went down hill from there. I wasn't recommended any dresses to try on, simply put it I had to pick my won, then was told that i could try half of them on as they wouldn't fit, I'm a size 14 UK so not that big, waited around for my consultant, and then felt pressurised into a buying a dress. ALSO watch out as they will try and get to to order a large size so they can charge you more for alterations!!! They also don't tell you there is a no refund policy until after you have paid. And then if you do change your mind like I have the consultant tries to guilt you into retracting your complaint so they don't lose their commission - its 4 days later and had no reply to my emails read more

I booked a joint appointment to try on wedding dresses with a friend who is also getting married. We reserved the appointment at the Excel Wedding Fair with David's Bridal representatives. We turned up on the day with 2 bridesmaids to be told by a very unpleasant woman that our booking was not in the system. We produced the appointment card with the date and time written down, she faffed about for a few minutes and confirmed that we were not booked in and told us to sit down whilst she went to ask someone else what to do. 5 minutes later she returned and said that they had no space for us but if we felt like it we could just sit and wait 'in case someone doesn't turn up'. Erm, no thanks! No hint of an apology, no suggestion of rebooking for another day, in fact she made us feel like it was our fault! Absolutely ridiculous. Would never go back, the staff were moody and extremely unhelpful. read more

My wedding dress was completely ruined by the alterations made and there was no time to do anything as I noticed the additional problems on the day! I was misled both times I went there to find a dress. On both occasions, two different sales reps reassured me that the dress' train could be lifted by loops as I told them I did not want a train. Of course, I trusted the experts! I paid £188 for the alterations and I found that they were trying to add alterations that I didn't need (the initial amount was £354 which was ridiculous so got it down by taking out the unnecessary work). When I went to pick up my dress, I saw that the threads where the buttons were placed were very visible. The lady had to go and fix it on the spot but still not much changed. The lady told me that the ironing could fix it. On the day of my wedding, my hair stylist saw that there were pulled threads at the back of my dress. Apparently, the train was too heavy to be lifted up properly. Nothing could be done at that moment. Most of my guests noticed of course and kept trying to help me fix it! They ruined my dress and made me cry on my special day! I haven't received a reply to my complaint yet on which I attached photos! Many of my friends who are getting married have been warned not to go there; after all, after having seen my dress, they had already decided to stay away. read more

I had an appointment here for bridesmaids dresses. The dress had already been selected so we were simply coming in to try on for size and order them (we were hoping we could take them away on the day). I had visited another store in the States the week before, where the service was equally poor. The assistant had no knowledge of the range of dresses I wanted to look at, I felt like I knew the stock better than her! In the end we settled on a different one because we got so fed up asking for the same thing and not getting any assistance. On our visit to the Stratford store, we were greeted pleasantly but then left hanging around by reception with no guidance as to what to do. As a result our appointment started 15 minutes late. The store didn't carry the dress in the right colour so the other bridesmaids couldnt get a feel for what it would actually look like. Our assistant was so rude, she made a comment twice to one of the girls about her size, saying "Are you SURE you want that size?" while looking her up and down. She was also really rude to her other colleagues, particularly the one that was also helping us, who had mentioned it was only her second day. I needed the extra length size and was told it would take until July to order it in. Six months!! It's not a couture dress that needs to be made from scratch, 6 months seems like a ridiculous wait time. When we got to the till to pay, I was met with a roll of the eyes when I asked to pay separately as if it was the hardest thing in the world. It also takes 4 weeks for the dresses to arrive, which also seems ridiculous - from my experience in both stores it seems like neither carried half of the stock they should. Not enough sizes, colours or any to take away that day. Overall, we felt like we were an inconvenience to the assistant. She didnt make us feel welcome at all and was rude from start to finish. read more

This was the first bridal store I went to. I had been looking on line for the last 3 months and has a good idea what I was looking for. With that in mind I decided to go to a store and try on a few dresses. One to have the experience of going to the store and to see what suited me. I was told about David's bridal store by a friend. They had not bought anything there themselves but had seen the store. I found them on line and booked an appointment. I arrived for my appointment a little early and they saw me straight away. I went with my mum so I could get her opinion. The staff was very courteous and showed us to the lift for my mum to use. I selected several dresses to try on from their catalogue. I was appointed a stylist that measured me. She was very helpful, friendly and very encouraging. I was given a basque and shoes use with when trying on the dresses. This would give me the full effect. I tried on all the dresses and I new instantly what dress I was going to get. They stylist was very good and gave her honest opinion on the dresses. She gave me different options that I could try with each one. After all they are the experts! I didn't intend to buy my dress that day as this was the first store I went to but I knew the dress was for me. I tried on 4 dresses out of 5 that I choose. With each dress I tried on I took pictures so I could see. Once I had chosen my dress I was then given a bell to ring. Apparently, this is a tradition of theirs, for every dress sold the bride rings the bell and makes a wish. It was videotaped for me to keep. It was a very special moment for me and my mum. The only downside I would say is that they could have offered you something to drink. It was a long time and a very hot day. We was offered a drink in the end but it would have been nice to have been offered one at the beginning and not the end. Also once you have chosen your dress there are no options to pay it off over a few months you have to pay for it up front. As the dress is coming from the USA. I would much have preferred to pay a deposit and balance on collection. I was told that the dress could take up to 2 months to come in and they would contact me once it arrived. My dress has come in and I plan to go and pick it up this week. It came in 2 weeks later! Wow that was fast. My overall experience was very good, my stylist Kareen was amazing and she made me feel amazing. I will update my review once I have had the alterations done. Thank you David's Bridal read more

What a let down. I went for a bridal appointment with my mum and mother in law to be. We were excited about seeing some lovely dresses, but felt like we were on supermarket sweep to fit in our hour slot. The lady was not helpful or give me any accessories to complete the look. I actually felt like an inconvenience. I am only hoping to be married once and expected that my visits to bridal shops would send me home buzzing. Instead I felt deflated and flustered. The dresses were in the average price range and I was disappointed to think that Id potentially be spending £1300 on a dress in that shop without any real support from the staff. I asked about alterations but theady had no idea and said that once Id chosen my dress, she'd provide me with alterations costs. Being 4ft11, I realise that a lot of work is necessary and may change my budget entirely depending on alteration costs. Don't bother! I've got mixed feelings about the store. My initial appointment (nov 2014) I couldn't fault, as it was a Friday morning it was quieter than it would be on an evening or a weekend so it was just me and my mum along with another bride so we had a lot of mirrors available to us. Toma our assistant was very helpful and we were in there for at least 1 1/2 hours and I tried on at least 5 dresses ( I had a note of the ones I liked from their online look book so it meant they could check if it was in store for me to try) I was under no pressure to buy on the day and made an appointment for February (2015). My 2nd appointment I made for a Saturday so it was a lot busier in the bridal area (not helped by having to share a mirror area with another large bridal partner) my assistant didn't appear quite as good as my initial one, as in she seemed more keen for me to pick new dresses rather than the two I had narrowed it down to at the previous appointment and was putting me in a size 16 petticoat, smaller underwear and flat closed shoes even though I had pointed out that on my previous visit I had been wearing the size 14 and open toes low heals (thankfully my mum was able to find the same shoes I had previously tried on, in the sale area downstairs so I got them at a bargain £15 rather than £85) I had decided on the dress, petticoat, veil and shoes. However when paying for them I had commented that I would prefer the size 14 petticoat to be told I'd be better with the 16. When asked if it was too big when it arrived could I exchange it for a 14 I was told that they would just alter the petticoat. When asked for the cost or price list of alterations I was told that they didn't have one and would have to make an appointment with the seamstress when the dress arrived. After my 2nd appointment I had also arranged an appointment for my bridesmaids to try dresses, the appointment was running late and was in the smaller changing room area on the ground floor so there wasn't much space to wait and was very busy with our assistant working between us and another wedding party, so it ended up with me going to find dresses for my bridesmaids to try on and helping them in and out them. Whilst there was a wide selection of dresses there wasn't a wide selection of sizes so there was only a few dresses that my bridesmaids could both try on. We were told that my dress would take 8 weeks and my maids would be 20 weeks which was fine as my dress was going to get altered in Scotland and my maids are planning on getting them priced and altered by David's bridal. 6 weeks on I got an email to say my order was ready and needed to be collected within 2 weeks or delivery within the EU could be arranged. I replied twice via email, asking for it to be sent to parents address and got no response after a week so I then called to check if my email had been received and to make the request again to initially been told by the assistant that she didn't think my dress could be sent to my parents address as she didn't think Scotland was in the delivery area! After she had checked with a supervisor and was told that delivery would be arranged. As she hadn't taken any payment details for delivery I called back the next day to check that my dress was definitely going to be delivered as well as confirming that when my bridesmaids dresssed arrived we would collect them (presuming that the dresses had not arrived) as they wanted the shop to alter them. The assistant called me back to let me know it was packed ready for delivery and took my payment details. A week on the delivery arrives at my parents home for it to end up being my dress and the bridesmaids. Fortunately I'm going home and I'll be able to bring their dresses back with me to arrange an alteration appointment. So If you were thinking of getting your dress and other outfits from here I would suggest that you note the dresses you like from the website and try for a weekday appointment if you would prefer more individual attention. read more

I had an appalling experience in David's bridal Stratford. It was my first time trying on bridal dresses and I wanted to narrow down what I was looking for before I brought my mum with me to see them. My mum is suffering from cancer so I didn't want to tire her out but wanted her to be there when I purchased my dress. The sales team in the store were so pushy they made me facetime my mum who was having chemo at the time and ask her if she liked the dress so I would buy it that day. This was suggested by the store manager, Terrie, an american who was so pushy even though I told her my mum was in the hospital she wouldn't give up so I just gave in. I was in tears. My mum was in tears. I would never buy a dress from this shop. read more

I had the best experience at Davids Bridal Stratford today! The location is so convenient and easy to get to, the shop s beautiful and very large. They have a massive selection of high quality bridal dresses and bridesmaids dresses over 2 floors. I was there to look for my Wedding dress. I left dress shopping til the last minute as I didnt really think the dress was that important, and I had been focusing mainly on the actually wedding day itself, rather than what I'd be wearing. When I came in, I was so politely greeted by the lady at the front desk. She was very friendly and helpful and directed me to the chair to sit and wait for my fitter to be available. Less than 5 minutes later, I was taken upstairs to browse the dresses and figure out what I was looking for. That's when I met my fitter, Huwaida! She genuinely cared about my wedding! She really took the time to get to know me enough to be able to help me find the perfect dress. She listened to all my comments about every single dress I tried, she used my comments to help me select which dresses to try and which to avoid. After over 2 hours and many many dress changes..she had figured out exactly what would be right for me! She was the most patient lady Ive even met in my life! Even after I had fallen in love with my dress, she spent over 15 minutes with me trying on sashes and really making sure it was completely right for me! I never realised how much a wedding dress would mean to me until I went to Davids Bridal! Thank you so much to Huwaida, Farida, Terrie, Tammy and everyone else who made my experience so special! I came here with my 3 bridesmaids at 7PM on Saturday evening ~ I had high hopes and was very excited to visit because David's Bridal was famous for their vast variety and expertise ~ However I quickly regretted our visit. Our first advisor sat me down, first thing she said was she was about to go home but another lady will be looking after me mid-way. She asked me some questions such as wedding date, venue, dress ideas, measurements and jotted it all down on a clipboard. Then she put her clipboard down and told me to follow her to look at some dresses. She showed me several, and I said I didn't like them ~ she seemed to be getting irritated as I turned down each dress she showed to me - as she wasn't even referring to her clipboard. It was like she didn't even listen or care. She even said "don't put your arms like that" when I had one hand under my chin and one arm across my chest because I was unsure with what she was doing... I felt like I was being scolded like a child! I was very confused as to why she was not allowing me to browse myself. She was forcing me to follow her around the shop floor whilst showing me dresses SHE thought were nice or were their bestsellers. In the end she gave up and told us to pick out a few dresses and let her know which ones I wanted. I asked her do we need to jot the numbers down in case we forgot where they were and which one it was as the shop was huge and she said no, that they will pull them out for me. She left us to do our own thing but kept coming back every 5 minutes to check if we found anything. At 7:30 ~ we had found only 2 dresses; she scurried over and said "you need to try the dresses on NOW", we said that we hadn't finished looking and she gave us no choice and escorted us over to the mirrors and changing rooms. Telling me it's the bridesmaids' job to look for more dresses! Then she handed me over to another second advisor who already had another customer... The new advisor told me to wait in the changing room and to knock when I was ready for my dress. When I was ready, she handed my dress through the gap of the door and told me to knock again when I was ready to be fastened up... So literally I had to put the dress on myself without any assistance. It was a very small changing room; and I had number 13... Which was probably why I was so unlucky. When she came back in to do my corset she was very rushed then told me to go out the room when I was done up. My bridesmaids were sitting there with "what on earth is going on?!" faces ~ I asked the advisor for a petticoat to add volume to the bottom of my dress ~ she handed me a thin slip skirt which did absolutely nothing. I then went back into the changing room and took the first dress off. She took it away and gave the second dress to me to put on. Then she came in the room and started roughly zipping up the slip skirt and caught the skin on my back. I said "ow", she apologised and quickly continued to do up the dress. And then opened the door again for me to show the dress to my friends. At this point I just wanted to leave ASAP so my bridesmaids helped me try on a veil and we tried hair clips whilst we were waiting for the lady to be available to get me out of the dress. As I looked over there was another bride-to-be who appeared to be having a much better time with a different advisor standing there and discussing what she did and didn't like about her dress and accessories, giving her full undivided attention. When I finally got my advisors attention she asked if I was only trying 2 dresses today and I said that the first person had rushed me so I didn't even have chance to choose. After hearing this she told me to get changed back into my own clothes and tell her when I was ready so she can help me choose more dresses. Back in the changing room, I got changed as quickly as I could and left the shop with my bridesmaids as fast as we could so that she wouldn't notice that I had left. So... The conclusion is. If you're hoping for a rushed, unprofessional, cold and rude bridal dress shopping experience ~ then please make your next appointment at David's Bridal. I will not be coming to this shop again and will tell all of my friends and family to never come here. This place was a waste of our time and travel. And complete opposite of what a bridal and bridesmaid dress shopping should be. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. Stay away from this place. read more

Great dresses for great value but staff is very pushy with sales which ruins the whole shopping experience.

As a mature bride I was having difficulty finding a dress until I found David's Bridal and their wonderful selection. Found just what I was looking for. Unfortunately an error was made in the alterations but they pulled out all the stops to ship a replacement from America, which arrived within a week, and the alterations were done in a day, and I am so happy with the end result. One star for ok in-store experience which changed the minute we walked out of the door. I had to repeatedly chase every detail on the bridesmaid dress I'd ordered with staff saying they'd call me back or send me what I needed (on one occasion an actual receipt) and then doing nothing. When we eventually got the dress they'd ordered the wrong one. The manager I called to complain to, after making all the right noises on the phone, didn't even call me back when she promised to! Astonishingly bad service. Don't shop there for your big day unless you want a big headache. read more

Really great service. Plenty of appointments available to book online (even last minute!). The staff was very helpful and accommodating. They also did a great job managing expectations for my search; there were very clear about what was possible and what wasn't given several timing and travel constraints on my end, which I very much appreciate. I bought my wedding dress in David's Bridal last weekend and had a great experience. This was mainly down to the wonderful assistant who helped me, Israel. She really listened to everything I said and in the end she picked out a dress that is perfect for me and that has everything I wanted. I would definitely recommend David's Bridal if you're not 100% sure what you want and need a little guidance. read more

Absolutely shocking customer service! The advisor serving me allowed me to try on a discontinued dress which I fell in love with, only to tell me after that it was discontinued and that was the only size left - 4 sizes too big for me. I bought it anyway after discussion with the alterations department, only to then get told that I had to take it home with me that day if I wanted it. Cue the stressful event of trying to get a wedding dress on the tube in rush hour and all the way back home! Not a great end to what should be a fun and exciting day. I also ordered 3 bridesmaid dresses and a veil. The order was not only 2 days late in being delivered, but the veil was the wrong one. 6 phone calls later, it's still not resolved. There has been a mistake at every point there could be and while the staff were very friendly on the phone during my daily (!) phone calls to chase various things up, there is no way I would recommend that any bride looking for a stress-free, relaxing purchase should go there. I doubt vey much that I will be taking my dress back there to be altered, I have no confidence left in David's Bridal. read more

I'm 3 months away from my wedding and I'm seriously considering returning my dress due to the awful awful awful experience I've had. It's funny to think back to how I was treated like a princess when I went to my appointment to try on dresses, but since I paid for the dress the caring service stopped there. Since paying for the dress it's been a nightmare and mainly down to the horrendous customer service. I knew from the initial phone call about my dress being ready for collection, that they no longer cared to provide a good service, the lady sounded very disinterested and in a hurry to get off the phone. Each phone call since than has been the same...rushed, bad attitude and as if I am inconveniencing them, unless it gets as far as speaking to the manager and then there is a difference. I've spent over a £1000 so I would imagine my dress to be packaged well, instead the delicate mesh collar/shoulders is hung on a plastic hanger with crooked gaps that can catch on the dress etc. There were a few small issues with the dress so UPS collected the dress to go back to the store. Then followed several phone calls to myself and my maid of honour (even though they were instructed to speak with maid of honour, not the bride),we received mixed messages, 'have you returned the dress?', 'dress hasn't arrived' 'dress arrived on 23rd, but we can't locate it' (even though we didn't return till after 23rd!) 'dress hasn't arrived' 'oh actually it was delivered but we can't find it' then we're told to wait while they look for it, then finally they've found it! During this time the phone was put down on us on 3 occasions. Then my maid of honour had to go to the store to show what the issue was with the dress, once they fixed it she bought the dress back, then i picked it up from her, tried it on at home, though the issue has been fixed, it's not perfect. So for the last 2 weeks I have been phoning every other day to speak to the manager to let her know, but I have not been able to get hold of her, I have been given many different reasons by the girls that answer the phone with the dismissive attitude because I am now inconveniencing them, I was even told to not phone on Saturday because it's busy! I'm sure if I was a new customer I would not be told to not phone the store. Yesterday I received a message from the manager at 9.15pm, I couldn't respond because by that time the store is closed, so I was told to phone on Friday....so let's see what happens tomorrow. I completely understand the manager might be busy, but I do not accept the way I am spoken to and treated each time I phone the store, no one has phoned me to check if the dress is ok etc there is no after care and customer service is disgusting. This is not the experience I imagined having when buying my wedding dress! I should've stuck with the local, small, independent boutique store that I first went to, but I got lured in by the well known brand David's Bridal. My review might sound like I am rambling on, but I'm trying to give you a snapshot of my experience with this store for the last 3 months, excellent service when you first go to the store, once you've purchased the dress, pray that there are no issues with the dress, because the service you'll get now will most likely be very difficult. read more
