The dresses were laid out separated into sale and non-sale with bigger dress (more princess) and smaller dresses separated, making it really easy to route out what you want, also there's an abundance of choice! I ended up getting a sample dress that was on sale for literally half the price of the dress new last year The dress selection was amazing compared to other shops, nothing was tacky or cheap looking and there was a range of prices to suit every budget. It is also easy to get to by car, easy to park on a side street and it is near New Eltham train station. But that's where the positive experience ended. On arrival the doors were locked and we were out waiting in the cold for a bit. We then got let in around 10 mins before the appointment start time. Prior to my appointment, there were 2 bridal appointments taking place simultaneously where they were walking around the shop floor. I filled out a form and was then left to pick a few dresses to try on. The appointment allows around 4 dresses. I was asked which other shops I had visited. I identified them and they all got slated! I had visited a few other bridal shops before this one so I had a good idea on what I was looking for. The first dress I tried on looked stunning, near perfect. Probably the best one or the joint best one I've seen so far. But unfortunately I was not allowed to take a pic of it to compare it to my other favourite dress. So it's difficult to reflect or come back to it. This no photo policy is somewhat outdated as there's photos of all the dresses on their website with the models wearing them, despite the sales rep claiming that this particular one was not on their website! It is as I found it immediately afterwards. Fortunately the designers featured use a wide range of local stockists so if I do turn out to want this dress I now have all the details and I shall be taking my business elsewhere. The other weird thing that happened is that I was confined to a small cubicle, standing on a pedestal the whole time whereas the other bride was able to walk around freely on the shop floor. I was not allowed to even try walking around or sit in the dress. It made the decision making a bit more difficult. There was a bit of hard sell going on too like 'buy today and save 100', or saying that the dress may not be around for long... A contradictory message to 'this dress is new in' and 'this will be available in September'. However, I was too shocked/distracted by the photography issue to focus on the selling points. At the end of the appointment I was given a business card with just the dress number. No other information about the dress. It is the worst customer experience to date that I have ever had in a bridal shop. A contrast to David's in Westfield. So, in summary there are some nice dresses to be had and they appear to have a good alterations service at a fixed price regardless of what needs to be done. But if you do shop here, just be prepared to not be listened to nor have your requests met.

The sales lady Nikki was fairly aloof at first but soon warmed up and got into the spirit of things, adding lovely accessories to the dresses I was trying and making great suggestions about the styles etc. She didn't help me into the dresses as much as I wouldv'e liked but the dresses themseleves were in fantaastic condition for samples and she had a fab range of various styles and designers. It's a very expensive store but you get what you pay for as the quality of the designs/dresses was leaps and bounds ahead of Berkhampsteads offerings. Fitting room couldve been a bit nicer, maybe on a raised carpeted area or something with better mirrors as well. Glad I went though as the dresses and accessories were right up my street....maybe the one is in there but I am still looking.

You need a healthy budget to even consider going here, and they do verify this when you call for an appointment. The stock a wonderful range of high-end bridal designers, including Sassi Holford and Jenny Packham (a favourite of Princess Kate). They also stock a nice selection of styles and fabrics, which is not the case at many shops which tend to favour satin or lace. In my opinion, the dressing rooms could be improved given the price of the gowns. There was another appointment happening at the same time as mine, and I had to walk through her dressing area to get to mine. I feel like you want this moment to be more private than that. The assistant (whose name I have unfortunately forgotten now), helped me into the dresses and also provided further suggestions to the ones I picked. Samples here did seem to run smaller than the other shops (maybe because they're high-end designers?) but it did mean my underskirt (read bum) was often hanging out the back of the more fitted gowns! My mum loved one of the gowns I tried on here, but I fell in love with one in another shop.

The shop itself is small which means although we were the only clients in the shop behind the curtain. There was no where for my friend to get changed. It was standing in your pants in front of me and the lovely assistant. Most people would be fine about that, but I felt it was a little unnecessary and should have been factored in to the shop design. Which is why they have lost a star. However plenty of good points. First off, service was brilliant. We were the only clients and we had the assistants full attention. There was a nice selection of dresses at reasonable prices. If you are after spending the equivalent of a small car on a dress this is not the shop for you. Everything was under £1500. Most were around the £700 area. They also had a brilliant selection of off the peg dresses, if you are an average size, that you could take away that day. They were understanding that my friend would want to show other people the selection of dresses that she liked, so they let her take pictures. So many shops don't allow that which is beyond stupid. They also didn't make her stand on a box, I had to go through that when I got married, just wear heels. They have a seamstress who is available for consultation at the shop. You do have to pay her separately, but seeing her in the same place is a great help. My friend really enjoyed the experience and felt at ease in the store (apart from the lack of changing room) she will be returning for a second try on with me and her mum in the next few weeks.

Even the ones I thought would definitely not suit me, they said 'try it on, just so you can rule it out'. It was a brilliant experience and since then, I have recommended the shop to many of my friends. They even let us take photos so I could remember which ones I liked - unlike so many of the snooty, stuck-up shops who think you want to rob their designs, rather than to help you make your decision. The staff were young, friendly, fun and went out of their way to be helpful and make it an enjoyable experience - usually I hate clothes shopping, so they had their work cut out! The second I bought my dress, they became regularly condescending and rude, for no evident reason. While the owner sold me on the promise that the dress would be fitted to flatter my body shape, as soon as she'd ordered the dress (a size too big), she and her seamstress stubbornly refused to take the in dress as I asked, even though there was obviously extra material around my stomach and hips. I almost got the feeling that they enjoy being rude, as they are just naturally conceited people? Otherwise, I can't imagine how it benefits them to be so exceptionally unpleasant. Finally, I took the dress away from the shop to a proper alterations boutique. In FIVE MINUTES, the new seamstress was able to make the dress look as it should--flattering, hourglass, exactly as I wanted and knew was easily possible given that the dress was too big! Other examples of rudeness: they don't respond to emails for over two weeks, if ever. They charge you extra for every little service they could possibly provide. They insulted my shapewear and bra (they asked me if my bra was made of plastic?! I'm sorry, what is a plastic bra?). We even overheard them gloating about how many pounds they'd made in sales that morning (really classy). It's obvious that the second they've sold the dress they couldn't care less about anything besides selling more dresses to other brides to mistreat. I really hope for your own sanity you steer clear of these snobs. Dress fittings should be fun! That's what I've heard anyway.

I had the most amazing experience at Mirror Mirror finding my wedding dress. I came to the boutique…read morelooking for a dress last minute and feeling a bit worried I'd left it too late. Andrea (my consultant) took all my stress away from the moment I came in. We browsed the rails together and found several options - before I slipped on "the one." I have big boobs and had struggled to feel good when trying on dresses at other boutiques but Andrea helped me pick out dresses that worked for my figure and made me feel amazing. Not only did Andrea help style, she also personally altered the sample dress I tried on and it fitted like a glove in time for my August wedding! Throughout our fittings, Andrea also offered me expert advice and tips to do "on the day" to ensure I looked and felt my best coming down the aisle - such as the best way to hold my boutique, look after the dress (which I had to bring over to France) and ways to accessorise to enhance the overall look. I am so grateful she came to my rescue... thank you so much to Andrea and Mirror Mirror for such an amazing 5* experience.

Fortunately I am not having one of those weddings that requires one of these ultra expensive gowns…read morethat you wear for one day and then never again. Mostly I hate wedding gowns! They just make women look like giant cupcakes, covered in lace. However these dresses are rather elegant, I would never wear one but they are nice to look at if you are one of "those" brides. This shop is by appointment only and is not child friendly, they discourage it as politely as they can. They have dresses for skinny and curvy women as well as all the accessories.

If you're shaking your head in confusion, you must not have experienced this gorgeous little gown gem.) From the second we walked in, everything was right. The warmth of the store, the quality of the dresses, the combination of warmth and quality of the staff -- it was like something straight out of a Julia Roberts RomCom. Oh, and then there were the dresses... These were by far the best, most diverse, painfully stylish and affordable dresses we have seen here in London. The first one my best friend tried on had just been returned from a Vogue shoot. We of course learned this before our helper Natasha filled us in that her Mum (the shop's master tailor) had fitted the likes of Twiggy in her over 20 years of experience. With lace so light and silk that would make a baby's butt feel rough, these dresses were absolutely stunning. And affordable! Every dress we tried on was under £1500, and the top contender was just over £800 including a veil and £50 off an accessory of her choice. Ummm, wow. (That leaves a lot more money for her to spoil her bride's maids!) Moreover, the experience was *fun,* which is quite an accomplishment with a bridzilla, a moody maid of honour and an oblivious bride's maid. Natasha whooshed dresses in and out, sensing instantly the feelings from both the decision maker and the peanut gallery. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I highly recommend having a fitting session at Mirror Mirror. Go on then, be fabulous for a day before your big day!

I first went to MM in April 2011 and am getting married in December 2011. I tried on a variety of dresses - their selection was really good and I think would please most brides but it's key to remember that MM is a boutique store. This means they aren't a major store and therefore don't have thousands of dresses. But with a boutique store and this one in particular comes expertise and a one-to-one service that you wouldn't get from a big store. Also, you sometimes have to share the dressing room - from all the wedding dress shops I did, this was a common occurrence. I'd recommend you embrace it instead of having issues with sharing the space. If you are the bridezilla type (I didn't think I was but have found that I have tendencies like I'm sure a few of you have too!) and want them to be at your beck and call and fall at your feet, then please consider this: they are a business and they are experts in their field - once I realised this, I was much more accepting of them. When I went back for a second viewing of the dress I thought I wanted, they made me feel really special but I still thought they were way overpriced. I looked around and actually found that they were bang on price-wise with other shops that were selling the dress. The alterations package may have been slightly more expensive but this money is so unbelievably worth it (see next paragraphs for more details). I got a girl called Andrea who did my fittings and she was beyond amazing. She knows anything and everything about weddings - from attire to hair styles to jewellery to fake tan to catering. This girl is an encyclopaedia of invaluable knowledge that you won't find on any blog or wedding mag. She is also totally straight-down-the-line and honest. But most importantly, she is lovely and makes you feel completely at ease. She made my experience at MM a really memorable one. When I went for my second fitting, I felt ill half way through. I have been sick for a lot of the year and with a little stress (like packed tubes and running late), I started to feel faint and thought I was going to vomit - just what you want when you have a wedding dress on! Andrea got the dress off me within seconds and made me take my time until I felt better. She then asked me to stay there for an hour until I felt a lot better. There aren't many bridal shops that would have taken care of me like this I don't think. This is the kind of exceptional service you get from Andrea and I can't recommend her highly enough. I brought my wedding dress home today and I couldn't be happier with it, the work that's been done to it and the service I received. Below are some pros and cons for those of you that don't want to read the above. I really hope this helps you and if you do visit MM, enjoy every minute of it. Karola Pros: - Andrea - They know what they are talking about and know what will work for you and what won't. If you know what you want, that is great but I'd listen to them as you never know what they may pick out for you. Remember, they are the experts and know more about wedding dresses than you do - you know you and they will listen to that but they have good ideas that are worth considering. - Reasonable. I did at least ten shops and they were in line with other shops in terms of price. - They are a boutique service - please remember that (this comes with pros and cons, but in the end I found this 9 times out of 10 to be a pro) Cons: - A bit scrappy at times with their organisation but it is a family run business not a big department store - Bad reviews from others - these nearly turned me off buying from MM. I'm really glad I didn't listen to those reviews. - They didn't give me a receipt when I paid but then again I never asked. But when I did ask they sent it to me by email.

One of my bridesmaids arrived first and was ignored for at least five minutes. Then she found out they had me down for the wrong appointment time, even though they had the email where I had specified the correct time! When I arrived, not long after, we were sent upstairs and ignored for the rest of our time there. In addition, they had a meager selection of bridesmaid dresses in both Alfred Angelo or Mori Lee, which were the two I was looking at. Maybe I was just unlucky that day, but I'll certainly have my bridesmaids get their dresses elsewhere!
