HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! I was in the store for 15 minutes before any of the staff greeted me or my sister. We had to walk all the way to the back of the store to get someone to help us and the associate was SO rude about it. I was shopping for my bridesmaid's dresses and one associate told me the color "Sangria" was going to be discontinued by January and everyone needs to buy them beforehand. I walked thru the store distraught on what to do. I went to the register to buy some swatches and I asked another associate and she told me they have "no way of knowing when a color will be discontinued" as she was talking to me, a different associate interjected and gave me a totally different answer. I still don't have a clear answer on if and when the color "Sangria" will be available. Needless to say, my bridesmaid will NOT go to Davids Bridal; I'm just thankful I didn't buy my wedding dress from Davids Bridal. Horrible, horrible store. Don't go here read more

I had a great experience at this location with all of the staff. I want to particularily thank the manager Tina. She was professional, understanding and made my multiple trips easy but most of all fun!! Tina is detail oriented and she made sure I did not stress about any detail and even took the time to listen to my rants! My day was beautiful and I looked my best thanks to Tina and Davids Bridal. read more

My daughter, Mary and I had a great experience at David's Bridal in Hampton! She tried on 2 Wedding Gowns that we had picked and then, POOF! One of the young ladies from Alterations came out with a pick of her own...a gorgeous Oleg Cassini gown! It was like Magic! We loved it from the moment Mary put it on! The young lady from Alterations just came to us and helped Mary from start to finish! When we came in next to try on the gown after it had arrived in her size, again it was a young lady from Alterations who helped us so well! She created a lovely French bustle for the gown and answered many questions from a nervous Bride and Mother of the Bride. So, CHEERS!! to your Alterations Department at David's Bridal, in Hampton. JOB WELL DONE, Ladies! Manager, you should be very proud of these young women, who may not be at the front of your store, but do wonderful things behind the scenes! From, Dee Campbell read more

Great experience! Ashley was such a great help in finding my wedding dress! She is super knowledgeable, and knew what I was looking for even though I didn't. Ashley answered so many questions, even repeats, helped with understanding of the complicated undergarments, and was honestly just a doll. Thank you, Ashley! read more

My experience with David Bridal was extremely pleasant! My stylist was extremely patient and knowledgeable. She took the time to help me find the perfect dress while keeping well within my budget. The dresses there are very beautiful and elegant. I feel a though the dress I purchased still truly take my future husband's breath away! I would definitely recommend this store for any woman who it's in a budget but needs a quality dress because their sales are phenomenal; well at least it was when I went there. Thank you for your courteous, astute and attentive customer service! read more

I went in & bought my dress in March of this year. They put me in a size 12 but said they thought a 14 would fit me better & I thought they knew what they were doing. Today I went to another store in California for alterations & they were horrified at how big my dress was on me. Luckily they had my size in stock. I went from a 14 to a 4! It's only been 2 months so I couldn't have lost enough weight to drop 10 dress sizes. The stylists at this store should really learn to do their jobs better. read more

I have not had the best of experiences at this location in the past but thankfully this time... Katlyn Walston was there! I picked out a few dresses to try on. However it was Katlyn who picked out the perfect dress for me. Then I discovered Katlyn had also helped the mother of the bride choose her dress a week prior. Ask for Katlyn! She is wonderful! read more

Overall poor service, I was not greeted for 5 minutes standing by the register. Once someone finally tried to help me I was made to feel like it was a hassle for them to try to find the item I was looking for. I had the item number and everything because I had looked at the website the day before. If I do business with them it would definately be on the internet and not person to person. read more

I hate david's bridal. NEVER MAKE YOUR BRIDESMAIDS SHOP HERE! They are the worst. They have the worst customer service and there dresses are cheap pieces of crap. I tried on a size 6 in the store and now they are saying the zipper isn't broke I ordered the wrong size, However, I tried it on in the store and the dress zipped perfectly. They are claiming the dress was stretched out and now I need to go a size up because of it. David's Bridal irresponsibility and lack of professionalism is ridiculous. I would never recommend or force any bridesmaids to have to go there. David's Bridal is a waste of your precious earned money! read more

Drove about an hour and 45 minutes (close to 2 hours with stops) with my disabled mother to get here as this was the closest bridal shop. I was pleasantly greeted upon entering, but when I said I needed to look at wedding dresses, I was informed I couldn't unless I had an appointment. I explained that I wasn't ready to make a final decision and take it with me, that I had a couple of elements that I was looking for and wanted to see if they flattered me, plus I'd made the long drive and my mother was disabled so we couldn't take long anyway. They showed me to a counter with their design book and left us to ourselves. Finally a consultant checked in and when I began asking about the elements I was looking for, the answer was continually "No, we don't have that." I mean, what bridal shop doesn't have a hi-lo dress?? She finally pointed out a few, took two to a fitting room and left us on our own again. We couldn't find anything else in my size that was suitable to my taste, so we resorted to trying on what we'd picked. She finally brought out the original dress that I'd seen in the book on the counter and it was very close to what I was looking for...at last. I finally got at least one of my questions answered, but continued to feel like they didn't want me to try on the dresses. We felt deflated and gave up. On the way out, she encouraged us to go on Pinterest for ideas. She did eventually mention THEIR website, but I felt like she was pushing us out of the store and almost encouraging us to look elsewhere. So we prepared to leave and decided to browse through the bridesmaid dresses...where we found a couple of dresses that would have fit my requests almost perfectly (this is my 3rd wedding and it will be on the beach, so I wasn't looking for a typical fancy ball gown)!! So we asked ourselves: Why weren't these shown to us?) Feeling too frustrated to bother anyone again, we left in disappointment without trying another thing on. As for quality: The dressing room floor buckled and bounced as we stepped on it and there were no 3 way mirrors to see yourself from different angles. It was not a happy experience at all. Unfortunately, I'll resort back to online shopping. Take it from a store manager of over 20 years...customer service is the ONLY advantage a brick and mortar store has over shopping online. When you cease to remember that EVERY customer that walks in your door has the revenue in their pocket that directly becomes your paycheck, you are putting not only YOUR job in jeopardy, but the health of your entire company as well. Remember the scene from "Pretty Woman" where Julia Roberts gets snubbed at the store and comes back after shopping and tells the women, "Big mistake...HUGE mistake!" Well, here's to you David's Bridal..."Big mistake...HUGE mistake!" While I'm a thrifty shopper, I had no budget limit. My fiancé would have bought me any dress in that store that I wanted. read more

I am torn with this location. My first experience I had made an appointment and I was treated very kindly upon entering. I gave the stylist my list of dresses and she pulled them... I had a friend coming to see me try the dresses on, but my stylist had me in and out of 6 dresses in less than 20 mins... Before my friend arrived. My friend arrived while I was in my last chosen dress and the stylist had gone to see if she could find something else. She did not find any of the dresses in my size and squeezed me into each one a size smaller which made every dress unflattering and made the whole experience seem hopeless and depressing. I'm a pear shape but I also have big breast so I have to size up to a 14. That's not a completely unreasonable size. I asked if there was a way I could see the dresses in my size and she said I would have to order it. I have experience with David's Bridal return policy. Once you've paid for it... It's yours. No returns. No exceptions. So I opted out of that and asked if they could alter any of the 12's to fit me. She grabbed the seamstress, and I will say that the seamstress was very nice, although the pricing I received would have cost more than the dress. So again I opted out and left the store feeling defeated. After a couple of weeks I returned with a friend and without an appointment. It was busy and we were greeted politely. That is until I explained that I had been there before, that I didn't have an appointment and that we were just going to look and see if we find something ourselves. They did not disapprove or give any guidelines, but rather we got a brush off attitude. I found 4 destination wedding dresses and one bridal dress... All in my size. When I went to the dressing rooms I hung all the dresses outside of the room and before I could choose a room I had a woman sternly speaking to me about the reason they have appointments. I'm assuming she was the manager by the way she ordered the staff around. Anyway they had a new employee shadowing someone else's appointment and they made her come help me. The only dress she needed to help me with was the actual bridal gown... They specifically said they didn't care about the other dresses but the bridal gowns in garment bags were expensive. Yeah I know... When I decided on the dress and decided to pay is when everyone's attitude changed... Although I still wonder if the girl who helped me got any of the commission credit because it seemed like the girl she was shadowing might have gotten it, though I didn't have any interaction with her except for her telling me I could only put the dress on hold until the end of the day. Since then I have been back to make an appointment for fitting. They only do fitting on Tuesday and Thursday. I was told to bring my undergarments which I have yet to purchase and inquired about those but was told they don't have slips to fit my dress and I would have to alter that too. I ended up opting out of that option and purchased a slip/bustier combo at another store. I'm hoping since up until now I have received a nice welcome from the seamstress that this upcoming fitting will go smoothly. Considering my experience with this specific David's Bridal and knowing that it's one of very few options in the area I would recommend other brides try it for themselves, but always make an appointment unless you don't need a bridal gown. read more

David's Bridal store used and wasted about 20 minutes of my life to talk to a pompous employee who claims to be the second most knowledgeable employee in Hampton, Virginia. I cannot remember her name but I can remember her not so helpful non existing happy attitude that it felt like you were more of an inconvenience to be there shopping in David's closet. Not only did she manage to just tell my fiance and me that she cannot assist us in locating a dress due to the fact they are really lazy and have no organizational skills that could be compared to thriving stores that actually keep inventory up-to-date. Not only was she kind enough to tell us that she would not help, instead, she informed us to go look online instead of looking in this store for anything I might find useful to plan out what I may like for my wedding. Apparently David's Bridal has a new catch phrase, "You will not get what you want and probably not end up with the idea you like. Just go online and the only way to get exactly what you want is to go get it made from scratch." Well David, you're not hiring the right people for the job. I deserve a wonderful wedding with even better memories. I have gone across the world to protect your beloved coworkers so they have the ability to be free and live in this country how they feel fit to live. I deserve respect and a good experience since I am one of many hard working Americans that work over 40 hours a week and have returned alive from a hostile war. If I wanted to feel like I was being interrogated I would stay in Afghanistan and live in conditions that no one who does not have the experiences like I have. Thank you for making it abundantly clear to never suggest your store to any of my brothers and sisters in arms. Hope there are great changes in the future to this company that could be great if people who actually want to work are hired and want to make it a wonderful memory for others. It is called customer service. read more

I read these reviews before I went into the store and I honestly wasn't sure what I had gotten my self into. As soon as I walked in i was greeted my Erica at the desk she quickly got Chanta to assist me. I was in and out in 30 minutes without having an appointment on a Saturday . After I left I had questions and when I called Erin and Megan were able to help me. My experience was amazing the ladies were nice, they had big smiles and made me feel like I was there focus. Honestly to the people that had a bad experince you still have to remember that these ladies ultimately are there to help us, so let them. 2/1/2014 read more

Today, I said yes to the dress at David's Bridal Hampton, and I could not be happier!!! After a mediocre experience at the Norfolk location, and seeing that the reviews for this location were even worse, I was pretty determined to avoid this place. However, due to some traffic and organization issues, I had to switch my appointments and come to the Hampton David's. Wow, was that some divine intervention. Emily was my stylist, and from the very beginning, she made me feel relaxed and excited. She was so laid back and helpful, I knew I was in good hands. The entire experience was fantastic - she pulled a great variety of dresses, was very patient with my "entourage" and I, had a great sense of humor, and carefully stayed within my budget. Her input was on point, and the whole experience was very comfortable. Everyone in the store had a positive attitude and made the day feel very special. Give this David's a chance - they really deserve a higher rating here! read more

You always hope and dream that the different legs of your journey to the altar will be positive, memorable experiences, and that's exactly how it was for me dealing with Jeaneen and Karla at this location! These ladies were extremely helpful to me and my Mom as we chose and purchased our dresses...and as I needed many alterations. They were patient, never making me feel like I was being rushed in and out...and they did it in a very kind, cheerful manner too. In the future, when I think back to the time of my engagement and wedding preparation, they will be there too in the memories. Jeaneen even included much personal conversation...the 3 of us felt like old friends (there was much laughter too!) And Karla did such a phenomenal job on my dress! It looks absolutely perfect! I feel so beautiful in it, like a doll; it looks like it was made just for me. (I can barely wait for my fiancé to see me in it in a month!) Thank you again, ladies, for blessing me with your time, heart, and talents at this most joyous and important time in my life! I'm so grateful and thrilled. God bless~ read more

Absolutely ridiculous that both of these locations claim to accept walk ins and when you get there or call to make sure you won't be turned away, they say "oh sorry, we can't accept you. You can make an appointment though if you'd like." They claim that "they are so booked" and there is only one stylist there today, but they are the only ones in the store. I don't understand how you can advertise that you accept walk ins, then when a walk in comes in, you won't take them. Oh but you'll offer to show them dresses that they can't try on. That makes no sense. I wouldn't recommend them anyways, I went for my best friends wedding for her to try on dresses and they tried pressuring her to buy a dress she didn't love. I thought I would give them another go for my wedding because I'm not as easily persuaded into anything. Oh and don't call their stores cause you won't be able to talk to anyone without pushing the button half a dozen times. read more

What an awful place. Went in to the store there is no one but my friend and I and we are told they are to busy for us to try anything on. My fiance' and I have been together for over 8 years so we were looking to do a small but gorgeous wedding.. I was pretty much dreading finding the "perfect" dress...My dress in my head was ankle length and not a big deal...afterall it was just a dress right.....Well I had my appointment with David's Bridal and Misty Reynolds was my consultant...I had told her what I was looking for but apparently she had more in mind....Im glad I had an open mind and ended up trusting her!!! She picked out the most beautiful gorgeous dress I have ever seen..needless to say it was the LAST one I tried on....God Bless Misty for her patience that day...She had TWO bridal parties at the same time and of course we both ran her to death....That day I found the perfect dress for me and because of that dress that Misty picked out for me my wedding has become so much more...I had to order my dress and it was here in TWO WEEKS!!! I was completely shocked..My flower girl and bridesmaids found all their dresses that day as well.. The staff there went out of their way to make sure my party and I felt comfortable and at ease while we were there..I would DEF recommend them to any of my friends and family to help make your wedding day even better....!!! read more

Best experience ever!! I went in after I had a bad experience in another state and I ended up never wanting to leave! I worked with Janae who I would recommend over and over again. When trying to find my perfect wedding dress, I ended up liking two different styles and I was unable to communicate what I was really looking for. Janae picked right up on what I liked and wanted and we found the perfect dress. She had me try on a some different styles, and would honestly listen to everything I loved, hated, wanted, etc. Then she would keep eliminating and bringing out dresses that fit my look until we found the one! She was very patient and willing to help, if anyone needs a special dress, go to this David's bridal and request Janae!! read more

My daughter needed a prom dress. She left school early and took an hour drive with her grandmother because I was working. She found a dress, tried it on and loved it so she asked the associate if she would hold it for an hour till I got there and looked at it as well as pay for it. The associate who we later found out was a new manager said "I'm sorry it's store policy that we can not hold prom dresses". I called the store and was told they would make an exception. By this time my daughter has went to JCP and found a beautiful dress for 75% less than what DB had. None the we went back to DB and I said thank you for holding the dress but because of the rudeness from the associates earlier and tell fact she found a better dress, they could keep theirs. Unless you have a large Bridal party to buy for or if your not spending 300-400 on a prom gown, the associates don't want you to waste their time. We will not shop there again read more

Horrible, horrible customer service! Never will I shop here or any other David's Bridal again!

I never write reviews, but after my horrible experience at David's Bridal I had to write one. My sister is getting married and made an appointment to try on wedding dresses at 3:30. When we arrived for our appointment the consultant who was supposed to help us was not even there. The lady at the front desk, who was extremely rude and not helpful either told us that we could look around while we waited. After looking through the dresses for fifteen minutes we moved back to the front desk expecting someone to help us, after all it had been thirty minutes past when our "appointment" was supposed to have begun. A random consultant brought her back to the fitting room and gave her a gross bra and slip to wear and left her in the room for fifteen minutes. As we were waiting for her to "bring dresses back for her" we saw her put on her coat and leave the store. Another random consultant who was currently helping another bride walked by us as we were sitting outside of the fitting room and asked if someone was helping us. We said no, and so she brought a bridal book to my sister who was still sitting in the fitting room. My sister looked through the book for several minutes and finally came out dressed in her clothes and was ready to go. She did not try on a single dress, and as we were leaving the women at the front desk acted oblivious to the fact that we had an appointment and not a single person knew what was going on. At this point it is 4:45 and my sisters consultant had just arrived. As we were leaving. This was such a terrible experience and if you are at all excited about trying on dresses for your wedding DO NOT come here. read more

Very unhappy with the customer service at David's Bridal. I purchased a bracelet and earrings online and the bracelet arrived broken. I called to get an RMA number and was told that the earrings were actually non-returnable. I asked to speak to a manager because I purchased the earrings to go with the bracelet and since the bracelet was broken I would also need to find a different pair of earrings. The same representative came back to the phone and said that she was authorized to allow me to return the earrings as well. I have returned both items using their RMA number and have yet to receive a refund. I have tried to call the customer service number every day for a week and have been on hold for at least 30 min each time before leaving a message on the voicemail for someone to return my call. No one has called me back. It is impossible to get anyone on the phone. I am now worried about the dress that I have ordered...It is supposed to be in by August and as we are nearing August and I have read a lot of stories about lost dresses and then not being able to get any help from customer service and I am rethinking my decision about ordering from them. If this issue isn't resolved quickly, I will not be recommending David's Bridal to any of my friends. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. It's hard to imagine a place with worst customer service. After coming with my family over an hour to my appointment at Hampton David's Bridal, we were told we would have to wait 30 minutes until the consultant arrived. We waited very patiently even though there there at least 5 workers standing around talking to each other apparently doing nothing. We were asked multiple times if we had been helped, and when we explained we had not, they continued to shove it off on the mysterious Alex who still had not arrived. After 45 awkward minutes, after interrupting one worker's personal phone call, we were assigned someone to hold us over until our consultant came. She put me in a dressing room with a slip and left. I was passed to two other workers who did not help me. The last was the only one who seemed to care at all or be embarrassed that the store was still holding out an hr later on Alex. Try as she might, she was already busy with two other customers and she could not help me. It was strange that she was the only worker trying even though she was the only one out of like 5 who was working. After over an hr if no help, I had run out of time and left without trying on a single dress. Not that I felt at all excited or happy or wanted to anymore. No way I'd ever give them my business. Standing alone in the dressing room close to tears waiting in a scratchy slip was a definite low in the wedding experience. I wouldn't wish it upon anyone. If you go and have to wait more than 5 minutes, walk out-they won't be with you for over an hr. If they tell you Alex is coming they are lying. DO NOT go here! Go anywhere else! read more

I have never in my life been someone to leave a review. However after all of the unfortunate events I have been through with this specific store I am very dismayed. I would like to think someones wedding is VERY VERY important and it seems as though this is not the case here. The story is I had bought my bridesmaids dress here all the way back in Jan. after may follow-ups regarding the status of my dress and then through the alteration appointment, I unfortunately received a phone call from the store manager telling me that my dress has been lost. The manager was not very sympathetic in telling me this even though I remained my own composure and said "I understand things happen." Even worse they believe they have sold my dress to someone else...... My friends wedding is hardly a month away and to top it off they no longer even sell that dress........ There has been a lot of hurt feelings over this. It is unfortunate to say the bride is probably going to have to make a big change to the wedding. I am heartbroken to even have to put my friend through this. I live all the way in NC and have wasted my free time, travel time, and gas to spend way more time in that store than necessary. I know when I get married or any of my other friends do I will steer them away from this store. Just to make sure nobody is mislead or ends up in such a position as I and the bride. read more
