Overall, I love this location. Within the past month, I have visited about four times. My only side eyes, the employees/stylists working with the client's aren't as on point as I think they should be... a lot of um's and I'm not sure's going on. This could be due to a recent hire of newbies... because it shows. Nevertheless, I think the selections in the store are just OK. It definitely depends on what you are looking for. Because based on what I've seen online and in the store, only two dresses (wedding dresses) caught my eye. I suggest David's Bridal should step up there game a bit more to compete with some of the other bridal shops in the area. I'm thinking business could boom the more, if more trendy selections were available. My bridesmaids dresses... the styles (long sleeves esp) were limited in the store as well. I really enjoyed my visit here and have nothing but positive things to say! This was my second bridal try on and I was feeling a little discouraged as my first try on experience at a different bridal boutique was less than spectacular. This location had multiple dresses that fit the look that I was going for within my price range. Micayla G. was attentive, sweet, helpful and supportive. She was also able to anticipate my needs before I even mentioned them. She had me pick out a few dresses and once she had a feel for the look I was going with she found others for me to try on. This was the second David's Bridal that I visited this week and I left highly satisfied! . The first location, in Virginia Beach, I would give maybe 3 stars. I felt uncomfortable at that location because they really seemed to look down at you and not be very helpful at all. Also although they are a larger store than the one in Hampton, they hold less inventory. I decided to cross the bay to Hampton to that location and they had a LARGE selection of dresses. I was looking for an occasion dress. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted and an associate was assigned to help me. Emily R. Was my associate and she is AMAZING! She was very attentive and listened to what I wanted. She helped me find a few dresses and stayed near by while I tried them on. She was very respectful and kind. She also informed me that if I needed to order a dress, it wouldn't take long at all. The other location had told me I'd be out of luck until November. Anyways, Emily successfully found a few dresses for me that were exactly what I wanted and I did leave with the perfect dress for my daughter's quinceanero. Originally, my appointment at David's Bridal was for my two bridesmaids to try on dresses and pick one they liked for the wedding. We were promptly greeted when we walked in and were handed a bridesmaid pamphlet that showed all the different styles and colors so we could circle the ones we were interested in seeing and they would pull them to try on. Once my bridesmaids had selected a few, they quickly took us back to the dressing rooms and the try on began. Luckily my bridesmaids were on the same page and were quick to pick a dress and color they both liked. Instead of ordering them through David's Bridal that day, they waited until the Black Friday sale and ordered them online knowing their size, style, and color from the fitting. As we were leaving the store, I saw a dress I'd tried on at other David's Bridal in Northern VA and questioned my decision to wear my mom's dress from the 80s which was very different from my very simple, minimalist style. We asked if there were any appointments to try on wedding dresses and they said there wasn't anything until the afternoon. We decided to leave and as we were pulling onto the highway I told my mom to turn around. We went back to the store and made a wedding dress appointment for that afternoon. The associate helped me try on two dresses, the one I'd tried on in Northern VA and one my mom had picked up off the sale rack. I wasn't in love with the one I'd tried on before but when I put the second dress on, I knew it was the one. It fit perfectly (minus the hem) and was exactly that I wanted - simple, elegant, and minimalistic. They definitely make it an experience as I got to ring the bell alerting other in the store that I'd found my dress and once I'd changed out of it was give the "I found the one" sign to take pictures with. Overall, we had a great experience at David's Bridal and I would recommend to any bride looking for an affordable but beautiful wedding dress. This appointment was pre-COVID. read more

They are terrible seamstresses. Totally ruined my gown. My wedding is October 9,2021. I picked up my dress on Oct 1 and had to take it straight to a new seamstress for alteration. Davids Bridals seamstress saw nothing wrong with the dress falling off of my shoulders, the seamstress said I just needed to pull the dress down. the shoulders fell off because they did not alter the shoulders as they stated on the agreement and charged me to do. They sewed size C cups into my size 0 dress over top of the existing A cups. They also did not steam the dress, it was wrinkled terribly and it wasn't when I left it there. I had an okay experience here. My sister, the bride, made an appointment here for me to try on Maid of Honor dresses. I live in South Carolina, so this was a drive for me. The day of the appointment, we were pretty excited. My sister is getting married and it's just an exciting time. We walked in to the store and were greeted with confusion. We were about 15 minutes early, but that was because it was thunder storming pretty bad outside and we didn't want to be late. We were told, "you know you're early, right?" That was weird to me because obviously, we knew. The hostess flagged down an employee that was assigned to us (I don't remember her name. If I do, I'll add it later). She told us to browse the dresses and they can come in any color/size. The lady left. My sister and I were lost...So many choices. Where to start? The dresses were hung on racks that reminded me of the racks in TJ Max. Just an overload of choices. Finally, the lady came back around and gave us a pamphlet. That was an easier way to see the dresses. She told us we can circle the dresses we like and she'll bring them out, 4 at a time to limit choice overload. Okay, that's easier. We chose some dresses and the lady grabbed them for me to try. She'd come, drop off dresses and leave. That wasn't how I thought this experience would go. Apparently, she was double booked so she was doing her best. That's fine, but there were plenty of other ladies standing around that could assist her, in my opinion. I finally settled on a dress, got measured, and bought it. Although I now have a very beautiful dress, I think when I shop for a dress again, I will visit another bridal store. read more

I was recently in my best friend's wedding - and because she had members of the bridal party living all over the US, she went with David's as an easy place to get dresses for everyone. My instructions were to find 1) a long dress, 2) not satin, and 3) in a specific blue teal color. As far as bridezilla requests go, it was *amazingly* reasonable since we could all pick a style that worked for our body. I went over to this location to find something - the sales clerks were friendly and helped me find things on the rack that were in the right color. I also tried on several styles that could be ordered in the color. That's where things got insane. A couple of the dresses I liked had a 4-6 month ordering time! So I ended up going with one that fit pretty well that was in the right color off the rack instead. It basically needed very minor alterations - pulling up the shoulder strap by an inch or so, and pulling up the hem by an inch or so. The dress itself cost $150. The quoted charge for alterations was $400!! I took it to a local seamstress who did the alterations for $40. Also, the lighting and the dressing area really isn't all that flattering in terms of a showroom. Very run-down and rag-tag. I was excited about the dress because it's flattering enough that I could wear it again. However, after wearing it twice (once to a wedding as a guest, and then once as a member of the bridal party I was in) it has serious wear and tear on the fabric and hems (in places where the dress wasn't even altered). Incredibly poor quality! Since I'm pushing 40, I'm hopeful that I won't ever have to be in a wedding again, but if I am, I hope the bride doesn't go with David's as the go-to spot for formal wear! read more

We made an appointment for an hour to try on dresses. Being that it is during a pandemic, I understood that the staff wanted to maintain social distancing as much as possible. For that reason, I went with my mom to her appointment to help her when trying on the dresses. The consultant that was helping us during the appointment had to do the shopping for us and picked out the dresses. Thirty minutes into the appointment, we had tried on 6 dresses but were still interested in trying on at least one other. However, we were told 6 dresses was the limit. I strongly suggest that they explain this to customers before hand, as we were never informed of this policy prior to the appointment. The consultant then suggested that we schedule another appointment at a later time to try on more dresses. We asked if we could walk the floor to see the selection for ourselves. We were told that we could as long as we did not touch anything. We found one dress that my mother would have lived to try on. The consultant responded by trying to convince her that it was not a dress she would like. It rubbed us both the wrong way. read more

This is the best experience I've had thru my wedding!!! Misty and Erin tag teamed to go above and beyond my bridal experience. Ask for them!!!! They were so sweet. They did more than their job required. I went to the Norfolk DB and really had horrific customer service. I vowed not to go the DB route, but I did, and these lovely ladies, Misty and Erin, were a great part of that!!! I cannot commend this store enough for having top rate employees and great customer service. Seriously, I feel like everyone in that place who worked there was smiling -- such a difference from Norfolk, where I felt like I was more of an annoyance than anything else. Katlyn was our stylist and she did an amazing job! She pulled dresses right off my list and was able to tell what I would feel confident in based on the list of styles I like. We found my dress on the third try. We didn't even the need the full hour for the appointment because she was so helpful. They had a lot of options and the prices were definitely reasonable. My dress was actually under-budget by a pretty good margin. The only complaint is that they have limited size options, so you have to size up and alter it or be open to a variety of alteration options because they may not carry the size that best fits you available. read more

I bought my dress at the VA beach location before they informed me that they couldn't do the alterations because of staffing issues, so I had to bring it to this Hampton location. First of all, HOW DARE YOU TRY TO TRICK A BRIDE INTO BUYING THE FLOOR MODEL!!! My cousin, chose this place to purchase her wedding gown and two weeks later they call her and tell her it's ready. Weirdly, there's make up stains and dirt all over it. Come to find out, they send over the floor model dress from another store!! I can see, that being ok if they 1, we're going to clean it for FREE and 2, took money off the cost of the dress. BUT they didn't even tell her until she called them out! David's bridal in Hampton VA is LUCKY it wasn't me there or I would have gotten that dress for free! Repulsive. read more

I scheduled an appointment and they saw me very quickly. The woman who helped me find and try on dresses was amazing. I wish David's Bridal tried a little harder to make dresses that are simple and affordable. But there were a few problems. First I was told the smallest size shoe was a 6 only to discover that was wrong and they could get a 5. When my dress came in it needed immediate fixing because the zipper was broken. The two stars come about for two reasons. The first, when I came to pick up my sash and shoes, I went to the counter and stood there for 3 minutes while two managers behind the counter fiddled around with papers. They didn't look up, acknowledge me, ask me to wait a moment, or direct me elsewhere. They just ignored me. I finally left the counter and sought out someone who would. My most upsettng thing was this: the state of the dress when it was delivered. I had to pay $40 to have a dress pressed and the wrinkles removed. Why, when you pay all that money, does the dress come wrinkled and folded? The dress should be delivered in good and wearable quality. The dress was a mess and I had to pay even more money because the store has poorly treated dresses. I'm offended to pay out of pocket when I've paid so much because the dress was in horrible condition upon delivery. A store stands by their quality and this store failed and I'm poorer for it. read more

This has to be one of the worst experiences at a business I have experienced in a very long time. From double booking us when our daughter was coming to look at dresses, to ordering a dress 3 sizes too big (because the consultant was distracted with her other client), double booking us for the fitting appointment, seamstress not showing up, they agreed to a refund due to the issue being their fault and poor quality to the fact that they charged my card not credited it. After after 4-5 days I still haven't received my refund and the store manager won't call June back. I would recommend using extreme caution if you decide to put you special occasion in their hands. read more

My friend and I were looking for holiday dresses so we decided to try out David's Bridal. We had a long week at work from being on the ship so yeah, we weren't dressed to the nines or anything, but we had money and wanted to spend it on a nice dress for ourselves. We walked in and were greeted, and were asked for our information to make check out easier. Okay, sure sounds good. Then off we went, searching for dresses and then someone came around and set us up with a fitting room after we picked out one. Alright, cool. After about picking my second or third dress, I had one of the ladies pick them up from me and basically tell me not to pick up any more and that I could get more afterwards. Like I was some child who was playing dress up. How about I'll pick as many dresses as I want to try on because I have the intent to purchase and will be spending a good amount of money on a dress? Anyways, my friend and I happily obliged and began trying on the dresses and we each found one. I give this place 3 stars because we actually found a dress and the first lady who helped us was really nice and kept checking on us. The other one, yeah no. She kept giving off the vibe like we were teenagers shopping around look for prom dresses. Customer service to me is huge and even after finding a dress, I still had a sour taste in my mouth from that. read more

Horrible customer service! My mom doesn't like this David's Bridal and would drive over to Norfolk instead...but since we were just getting some wedding accessories we just went here. We only purchased a flower girl basket and remind you we went early on Sunday and it took about 20 minutes to be acknowledged while waiting for someone to check us out at register. So sad...there were a group of "other people" waiting as well but were treated much better than myself, mom and sister. Once we finally got checked out the basket ended up being cheaper than what the tag read. The lady made it seem like the discount was the wrong price smh. Did she think I changed tags or something!!?? Listen to your moms, they're usually always right! We will continue going over to the Norfolk location. read more

Update: Online service was also horrible. I placed an order for a dress and received an email 5 days later that my order had been canceled because whoops, that dress is not in stock, sorry. Absolutely do not recommend David's Bridal for any services. Unbelievably bad experience all-around. Take the time to find locally owned bridal shops in your area and give them your business. Terrible customer service in-store. Associates were smiling and attentive when I entered the store, but that ended quickly once I asked if I could possibly try on a dress without an appointment, being one of two customers in the store with three associates. Had they not been overtly rude- rolling eyes and loud declarations back and forth to each other about needing an appointment, not speaking TO me, rather making a point in front of me like teenagers who were asked to clean their rooms- I would actually have no complaint. But I was treated with complete disrespect and David's Bridal lost a sale. I sent a formal complaint to the corporate office. I have never been treated so rudely in my life. I came in yesterday 2/28/15, just 2 weeks before my wedding. So as you can imagine I'm already a bit frazzled. This is 30 minutes after I received an email from my tailor that she could not make the dress I wanted for another 10 days because she was on vacation. With alternations and what not, the dress would not be on time, so I just decided to grab one off the rack. I walked in and it was so crowded. A woman at the front desk greeted me and asked if I had an appointment. I told her no, and I also informed her that my wedding was only 2 weeks away and I needed a dress like 3 months ago. She looked startled and I told her " I'm just looking, I don't need a stylist" As far as I was concerned I've never needed anyone to tell me what to wear and what accessories I need with it so why start now. She said "OK, but please don't take the dresses off the the racks because it is a fire hazard", I was confused, how am I suppose to look at dresses and see how they look on me if I cant take them off the rack. I asked her to repeat herself, I thought I misheard. She repeated herself except this time rudely. I asked her, "How am I suppose to know if I like the dress?" she just repeated herself again just as rude. I just laughed at her attitude and said "OK". So I went wandering to look at the short dresses. I'm 5'2 and as far as I was concerned if I was to purchase a gown, I would look ridiculous. Once I realized there was nothing for me I went looking for my soon to be mother in law and I found her in front. I guess she spoke to the same woman ( we dint walk in together) and she was waiting for a stylist to help us, she said they were booked and it might be a little while. Of course I told her how the woman at the front desk acted and how I just wanted to leave. She's more patient than I am so she convinced me to wait and see if we could find anything. I went off wandering once more to the short dresses, not really looking but just walking to appease her. A few minutes later she found me and with her was the Manager Cindy Knicks. All the stylist were busy so Cindy took the time to help us. I told her my budget, she picked out a few dresses for me. I tried on one and hated it, I looked ridiculous ( it was one of the dresses I picked out), Cindy mentioned that I should have the heels I intend on wearing or similar to get the whole look. She left and grabbed me some shoes and the dress looked better, it was still not the dress. The second dress was pretty, it looked good enough for me to say " OK this is it." Well there was a 3rd dress that they picked out, that I would have never thought of trying on. It was a tighter dress and I dint think it would have been appropriate for me to wear its very form fitting. I've seen this dress before in different David's bridals, but never considered it because of that reason. Again I decided not to even try it on and somehow Cindy and soon to be Mother in law convinced me to try it on. It was a 5 minute discussion why I dint want to try the dress on, I use to be a size 3 before having mine and my fiances baby ( 5 yrs ago) now I am an 8 so therefore I did not want to put myself though that. But they won and I'm so glad. The dress was perfect on me. It hugged my curves without being too sexy, Its off the rack, but I feel it was made for me. I love the dress and Cindy was wonderful. She even showed us what accessories to wear with it and what shoes. She was awesome. The dress came with a veil and they did not have any white ones available, so I settled for an ivory one. After everything was done, we thanked Cindy and left. We dint go far because we were now looking for shoes to match the dress. About half and hour later Cindy called us and informed us that they had found a white veil and for us to come and exchange the ivory one at our convenience. I was there within 5 minutes. This woman took time out of her day when she dint have too, to make us feel welcomed and made the experience enjoyable not only for me but for the people with me. We did not have an appointment and she's a manager, I'm sure she had a million other things to do. Our visit did not start out great, but it ended really well. Considering she is the store manager, I at least know that rude woman at the front of the store has someone to look up to in learning how to treat a bride correctly regardless on if she has an appointment or not. read more

Great experience here shopping for maid-of-honor dresses and bridesmaid dresses my friends wedding. We were in Suffolk and having no luck at all. We called David's bridal in Norfolk but I don't think they were able to fit us in for an appointment so we made an appointment at this location. We were greeted as soon as we entered and received such excellent customer service. Our attendant had great patience with us during the process and made great suggestions. We were able to pick out the maid-of-honor dresses for myself and my co- maid-of-honor as well as the bridesmaids dresses. We even looked at shawls/capes, veils, tiaras and shoes. I just recently got engaged this past December, I made an appointment online to have a dress fitting also trying to find my bridal gown. Glenda was my assistant with trying to find the perfect dress! She really went above and beyond my expectations as far as helping me out. When I found THE DRESS, I said Yes! She actually ended up being the one who found the dress. So I give Glenda a A+++++++++! She was fantastic! Then 2 weeks after my appointment, I schedule an appointment online for my Bridal Party. The woman who I got, I don't even remember her name, she did okay. She kept disappearing, for like 15-30 minutes, I had my five bridesmaid with maid of honor, and two flower girls. The flowers girls were never sized, nor did she help with anything for the flower girls. Glenda ended up coming over to our party and helped us out. I'm just very thrilled that I was able to find my dress as well as all my bridesmaids their dresses, at one location! All the other women I dealt with, other than the woman who helped my bridal party, has been so helpful with everything! Thank you David's Bridal! read more

All these reviews made me nervous, but I had a great experience with getting my wedding dress here. However, I did not get it altered here. I had an appointment and had favorited dresses on the site. They had them printed out and provided to the attendant. I went on a weeknight but I had the attendants undivided assistance. She brought me seemingly endless dresses and balanced between bringing me stuff I had specifically asked for and trying some different things. I was not brought anything outside of my price range. The dress came in quickly and when I got to the register, it was actually 40% off and I didn't know! The whole ringing the bell routine at the end is very sweet too. No complaints here and I have a beautiful wedding dress :) read more

I had the worse experience and yes I did get some money back on my dress but then it got altered there in store and I got in my dress my wedding day and found out that the alterations did not sew the material back to the dress so it had a wrinkle in all my wedding pictures that I hired an expensive photographer to take pictures and they are all ruined.. I don't have the words to adequately express how disappointed I was in my experience at this awful store. The staff is rude beyond belief. I went in at 11AM on Sunday November 1st. I did not have an appointment. A woman who I assume to be the manager told me that without an appointment I was not allowed to try anything on. I said okay, I was just there to look and asked if I do happen to find one dress would I be able to try that on and she flatly said No. Okay. I understand, if you have a policy you have to follow but nowhere on their website does it say you must have an appointment. There are also no sings posted, and when I called the store twice before coming in to ask about certain dresses not one person offered to schedule an appointment so that I could try the dress on. So, I walked around the store a bit looking at dresses. I was browsing for about 20 minutes and not one single person asked me if I needed help. Not one person asked about the style I was looking for, did not ask about my wedding, did not offer to make me a later appointment- nothing. They ignored me entirely and made me feel awful. I also want to add that 3 of the staff members were clustered at the front desk chatting to each other as I repeatedly walked by. I was literally the only customer in the store! This was my first experience looking for a wedding dress and I honestly left with tears in my eyes. I understand that getting married does not inherently make me special. I get that. But is it not your job working at a bridal salon to at the very least try and offer some sort of customer service? I will never set foot in this place again. I work in Hampton and live in Smithfield but will gladly drive to the Norfolk or Richmond location, if need be. The manager and the entire staff working that day should be ashamed. read more

The only reason that I am giving them a 3 is due to the fact that my bride's maid dress came in early. Otherwise based on my visit with the bridal party and subsequent ordering of the dress they would have received a 2. There are very few of the associates in the store that have a clue about professionalism. The young lady that initially worked with our party was nice and professional. However, there were several things that she failed to tell us. One thing in particular was that it could cost as much as $40 to have the dress delivered somewhere other than the store with which you ordered. But if you ordered it online there was no extra other than a basic shipping charge. Secondly, the cost for alterations is ridiculous. Take your dress to a dry cleaners that offers alterations I am sure it will be cheaper and just as efficient. Finally, when I traveled to the store to place my order, the associate that took my order seemed to be irritated to be doing her job and she was so busy looking around at what a couple of other associates were doing she could barely get the order placed. I definitely would not recommend them unless it was your absolute last choice. read more

Im more than aggravated and stressed. I had my alteration appointment a month ago. I was called thursday evening, being told my dress wasnt ready and we agreed on me coming in at Sunday at 6 (My wedding is Thursday) I show up, my dress isnt done what so ever. My mom goes to buy two pieces of jewelry with a sign that says buy one get one 50% off. They charged her full price so now already aggravated i have to go back in to get her to apply the proper discount. She would rather stand in the back room on her phone than come out to help, where I after standing there a minute had to say, "HELLLO!" I paid $1400 on the dress and they charged me $500 for alterations and now just called me to say its a $209 refund? Im now missing a family dinner and have been crazy stressed out about not having my dress for my wedding you could atleast give me a refund on alterations after not having it done in a month and giving me a migraine. read more

I have come to this particular store twice now, and both times the staff were rude and very unprofessional. They act as though helping a customer is an inconvenience to them... Reality check: it's your job. The first time I came to the store was to order my bridesmaid dress for my friend's wedding. I asked if they had a floor sample that I could try on, because I thought I might be an 8 or a 10 and wanted to make sure that I was ordering the correct size. After being asked twice what I needed and waiting 15 min, I finally went and found them and pulled them off the rack and just asked for a fitting room. The sales attendant said she would come back to check on me and see if I needed any help, but she never came back. That same sales attendant was the one who was processing my dress order at the checkout counter, and she was clearly more interested in her cell phone than taking down my info correctly for my order. I don't know how many times I had to repeat and then spell my name and email info, but it was enough to where the lady behind me in line started laughing and shaking her head. That was a month ago. Let's talk about this Sunday! Store was not crowded, and appeared adequately staffed, so why was this lady so rude??? I'm assuming she was the manager on duty by the way she spoke to the other staff. The lady that she was assisting had come in to pick up a dress from alterations, but the staff could not find it. The customer was clearly starting to panic, and so was the girl working the front desk/check in. The "manager" took over, and I was surprised at the tone she took with not only her staff, but the customer. She then turned to me and said "Did you need something?" I explained that I was picking up my dress, gave her my name and the brides name, and she took off to the back... And then I didn't see her for a while. Long enough for another staff member to ask me if I needed help, twice. When the "manager" came back with my dress, I asked if she could confirm the size. Seeing as she had it in her hands and I was signing the proof of pick up, I didn't think it was a ridiculous request. I live 30 minutes from the store, and she told me I would have to wait "a long time if I wanted to use a fitting room because we're busy." So naturally, if you can't try something on, you just double check the size, and being that it was ordered and took 4 weeks to arrive, I wanted to confirm that it was in fact the correct size. That was too much for her. She just stared at me with a pissed off look on her face and said "Here." I know she heard me, she just didn't want to check the tag. She turned to walk away and I said, "excuse me, if I need alterations and I need to pick up the dress by 10/20, when do I need to schedule my fitting?" She gave a rude, "you need 4 weeks. So today. But we're busy. You're going to have to come back, try tomorrow." That was it for me. I said thanks, I'll go elsewhere. As I was walking out, the lady who's dress they lost asked me if they had been this rude and disorganized when I came to order my dress, and I told her yes. I felt so bad for her, could you imagine a store losing your dress a week before your daughter's wedding?? Horrible. I feel really bad for the brides and bridesmaids that have to come to this location because they are getting robbed of a pleasant bridal experience. The 2 David's Bridal shops that I worked with for my own wedding were fantastic... They made the whole experience fun and uplifting. If it had only been one bad experience, I'd chalk it up to the day. But this was 2 in a row at the same store. Someone from Corp needs to go in there and give them an attitude adjustment or clean house. 2 stars because even though my dress was super wrinkled, they did notify me when it came in, and it was the correct size and color. read more

There is horrible customer service at this David's Bridal location. I ordered my bridal gown and had to return the dress a few times as they did not completely check the gown for defects. Two times the dress had a stain and the one time it had a hole in part of the lace. Each time I showed Carla, the alterations Manager, the defects, she seemed very annoyed that I was even showing her the defects. She never greeted me, was very passive-aggresive towards me, and never apologized to me that I had to go through many returns as she was partly to blame for not thoroughly checking over the gown. This last time I picked up my dress there was a yellow stain (from glue) right on the front chest area of my dress, she gave me two options for her to alter the fabric where the stain was, was very short with me and non-reassuring. They also said they couldn't return the dress for a perfect one bc I had already returned it 3x all due to their inattention to detail and inability to make sure a gown is perfect for a bride. So now I am stuck with this yellow stained gown. I cancelled my alterations appointment with Carla as she is very rude, does not care about how a Bride would feel about having an imperfect wedding gown that one paid lots of money for, and does not have any customer service skills. I would NEVER let her touch my dress. Going to the Richmond location for alterations... It's a nicer store with better customer service. read more

While I don't usually write public reviews, I felt I needed to share my story. My sister is getting married in December of this year, and I am the MOH. Two weeks after I ordered my dress in my regular size, I found out I was six weeks pregnant. So I went to DB, tried on new dresses and ordered a completely new style, 2 sizes up, as I had planned to be 9 months pregnant at the wedding. Two week later we found out that we had lost the baby. I knew I would never fit in the circus tent of a dress I had ordered, but couldn't bring myself to go order a third dress. Last weekend, about four months after we lost the baby, I finally brought my dress in. I walked in and the manager,Tina, immediately greeted me with a smile and asked how she could help. I had no receipt, and was on the verge of tears, but she worked with me and helped me try on dresses tirelessly until we found what we needed. I was SO relieved. Tina made an awful ordeal a little bit more bearable. I will certainly return to this location. read more

My sister works here but and I had nothing but good things to say! I noticed my bridesmaids dress had a small stain on it but I brought it to their attention and they immediately ordered me a new one and apologized for the inconvenience. Overall, it's a great place, tons of dresses to choose from (bridal and bridesmaids) and the bridesmaids dresses have tons of colors to look at too! Plus, their sales are great ;) read more

I made an appointment to try on wedding dresses at David's Bridal in Hampton, VA on November 6th, 2012 at 7:00 PM. I had a list of favorite dresses that I wanted to try on and the woman who greeted me and my maid of honor told me she would start pulling dresses for me. There was one other bride trying on dresses, and I did not see any other customers in the store. When I was given a room and introduced to my consultant, Judy, I started trying on the few dresses that I had laid out for me. Judy only put me in the first dress and my MOH put me in every other dress. When I ran out of dresses, it took at least 15 minutes for Judy to bring more. (I never saw the woman who greeted me again until I was about to leave.) When I had a dress on, Judy would come over and give a comment, and when the other bride's group said something, she would immediately leave me and go to the other bride. Once, she was talking to me and when the other bride's mother said something to her, she stopped talking to me mid-sentence and walked over to the mother, without saying anything. I was at the store for 2 hours and only tried on 9 dresses. I wanted to try on one final dress, but gave up after standing around for 15 minutes with no updates as to what was going on. After I decided to change and Judy came back, she didn't say anything about the last dress - no apology, no update on where it was, nothing. The dress I liked the most was not in the store in my size and she was also a bit snippy with me when I asked about checking online and checking other stores in Florida, where my mom lives. If David's Bridal wants to make brides feel special, then they, and Judy, failed terribly. I felt completely ignored. Even if the store did have my dress, I wouldn't have purchased it because I wouldn't have wanted Judy to get the commission. I will be telling all my friends about my experience and when my dress arrives from the website and needs altering, I will NOT be bringing it to that store. read more

Horrible customer service. I came in with two styles I found online from David's bridal. They didn't have either one in the store. And then you would think right away they would show me dresses that were similar but they started showing me random stuff until I had to ask for something like the pics I came in with. I had an appointment and expected a little more pampering. There was no where to hang our coats. I had 2 friends with me who had to go drag chairs from the other side of the store in order to watch me try on dresses. Every time I had a question of prices or anything about a dress, my sales person had to go find out and left me standing there forever. In an hour and a half I only tried on 6 dresses (only had a chance to look in one section of the store). Felt like a waste of time. My appt was at 3:30 and when my sales person got off at 5pm, she rushed out the door (which I understand), but no other sales person in the store stepped in to help. When I made the appt a week ago, it was wide open and with only one other person trying on dresses, they were not busy. One of my biggest problems is that most dresses I tried on were huge so she had to pin them which didn't really allow me to see how it would actually look. I heard this store caters to plus size women, but didn't think it was true until then. Plus ... with my wedding 6 1/2 months away, it just so happened the 2 dresses I was interested in at that store, had to be ordered within 24 hours to guarantee delivery on time. I highly doubt that is true and I don't like being rushed to decide or lied to. Very disappointed altogether!! I won't recommend this store to anyone. read more

As a plus size bride, I was nervous about my wedding dress appointment and unsure what to expect. My consultant, Sade, was great and made me feel very comfortable. When the dresses were too small or too big, she made sure to clip them well so that I was comfortable and could get the best idea of how a dress my size would look. She offered suggestions for accessories like shoes, veils, belts without being pushy and always asking what style I liked best. The consultants even pulled a dress for me that they thought would match my body type and it was probably the most flattering dress I tried on all day. I had brought a large party of family and friends and everyone had a great experience! I will be back again when making my final decision for my wedding dress. read more

I have to say I was a little nervous about going to this location due to all the negative reviews. Well, our experience was quite nice. We were given help when we needed it and were left alone when we wanted to be. The associates were pleasant and professional, dare I even say friendly? My daughter found two dresses she liked and the associate gave good advice as to which one to purchase. All I can say is that the store must have taken the previous bad reviews to heart and changed as necessary. I hope others will take a chance and give David's Bridal a look. read more

Wow!! My daughter needed a formal gown and fell in love with a dress here but they didn't have her size. The salesperson, Kristen, found the very last dress in the country at a store in Washington state! She arranged to have the "perfect dress" shipped here AND kept her "2nd choice" dress on hold for my daughter just in case something was wrong with the "perfect dress" when it arrived! Kristen had to help the Washington store with the shipping because they had never done it before and the process to quite awhile, but she never seemed annoyed and was nothing but helpful, despite the sale going to another store. It was an inspiring demonstration of genuine of kindness! The dress has arrived and fits my daughter beautifully....she feels fabulous in her "perfect dress" and a happy daughter makes for a happy mom! read more
