I get compliments on my teeth regularly. When people ask who my dentist is, I ALWAYS recommend Dr…read more Rakutt. I have been going to him, for seriously, 30 years. I have grown up with him. I remember when I moved to Chicago and tried to find someone else up there. They tried to claim I had 22 cavities. I took the image to Rakutt, and they told me that there were places that tried to take advantage of bright-eyed, naive, people. Lesson learned. He told me I had no cavities and to be careful. I traveled from Chicago to see him. I couldn't trust anyone else. I was one of his first patients he got to put braces on. If my memory serves me correctly, when I first went to him as a wee pre-teen, he did not have the necessary certification to do braces. But he was studying to be able to. Voila! He finished, put some braces on me, and straight teeth are now had. Slightly adjusted as time goes on, but still relatively straight. I love the people that work there. Carlotta, the front of office, always asked about my family and me. She is always smiling and is just a calming presence. I hope he never retires, but I feel the day approaching. Till then, I will keep coming to hear his soothing and calm voice tell me, "Well, everything looks great!!"

My experience at Spring Family Dental was extremely disappointing…read more The office struggles to keep dental assistants, and that creates larger issues throughout the practice. Many responsibilities are not consistently completed because temporary assistants can only do so much while actively caring for patients. Office management is not stepping in to cover those responsibilities, and the doctors are focused on treating patients. not only that but I have yet to get my last check with no communication from HR or the office. One of the most concerning things I observed was the sterilization logs. According to the records I reviewed while working there, instrument sterilization and maintenance procedures had not been properly completed for approximately two months. That is unacceptable in any dental office. What frustrated me most was the double standard. Office management was frequently late and missed numerous days, yet remained employed without consequences. Meanwhile, dental assistants who were only a few minutes late even after regularly arriving early and working hard for the office faced disciplinary action or termination. There is nothing wrong with having rules, structure, and accountability. Every workplace should have them. The problem is when those standards only apply to certain employees. When management is held to one standard and everyone else is held to another, it stops feeling like a professional workplace. Between the staffing issues, payment problems, lack of accountability, and overall management, this office felt more like a circus than a professional business. That is all I have to say.

While most people don't enjoy going to the dentist, I always know I am going to be well taken care of here at Dr. Westermann's. Dr. Westermann and her staff are incredibly well trained and experienced, and make every effort to ensure you have a comfortable experience. Keven has been my hygienist for years and she is wonderful. She is so sweet and always remembers me and asks about things going on my life. It's an extension of personal care that she is also concerned about my general well-being, not just my teeth. She is just a joy to visit with. Angie, who runs the office, is always available to help with scheduling and insurance questions. She is a whiz with insurance, which I appreciate as I am a newcomer to understanding the ins and outs of it. She is on top of everything. Their hours here are fairly limited, but they are usually able to get me an appointment fairly quickly. Upon arrival for my appointments, I never have to wait more than 10-15 minutes. Since moving downtown a couple of years ago, I still make the trip out to Westport Road to come to Dr. Westermann. It is so worthwhile. I truly feel that she is the best and I would not want anyone else to be my dentist. My highest recommendations.

Well, things finally started getting dodgy and I got an abcessed tooth. I remembered seeing Dr. Hamilton's ad in the Banner Gazette, so I gave her office a call. She helped me prioritize everything and PAINLESSLY got me back on the path to great dental health. The nicest thing about Dr. H is that she doesn't push unnecessary procedures on you. I have a friend whose dentist has convinced her that all of her old fillings needed replacement. The other thing that I love about Dr. Hamilton and her staff is that they are very gentle with you and do whatever is needed to make sure you're not in any discomfort. They also really care.
