Unfortunately, we can no longer recommend FISCHER HOMES…read more We had a mixed experience early on, but opted to focus on the positive. After construction got underway, we were still feeling optimistic, but as building went on, that changed. The model home we saw, and chose, was in a different FISCHER neighborhood. We were told there had been a reconfiguration of the model's kitchen for our neighborhood, but that it essentially involved moving some appliances, and that there would be a different, slightly smaller island. Once the kitchen was installed in our new home, we realized that FISCHER had also eliminated 4 cabinets and a countertop. We tried to address that issue, and other construction problems, with the regional office, but got nowhere. When someone finally replied to us, they claimed we had been told about all the changes IN DETAIL, which is not true. We were then told NOT TO VISIT our new home again until Orientation. So they went from telling us to visit the home during construction as often as we wanted, to being banned after we sent a list of problems. We've also learned that we are not the only ones in the new neighborhood who are unhappy. We then emailed (and snail-mailed) the CEO, Sr. Vice President, Vice President of Sales, and General Counsel of FISCHER HOMES at their Corporate Headquarters in Kentucky. That was two weeks ago and we have heard nothing back--not even an acknowledgment of having received our correspondences. In looking at online reviews, we've discovered that this behavior is not unique to us. Good, bad, or otherwise, things start at the top. And, in this case, it's clear that FISCHER HOMES, from Corporate on down, does not really care about their customers once they have your money and you are committed to buy.

The wooden floor in the kitchen is also of poor quality. I am very disappointed. For the amount of money we spent on this home, the materials should have been better.
