Before I turned 21, I went in for routine dental work at Dr. Mark Zive's office. I had been going…read morethere for some time for regular cleanings and had only needed one or two cavities filled. Dr. Zive was the only dentist who had ever worked on my teeth, and I made the mistake of asking him to do whatever he could before my insurance changed when I aged out of foster care. At the time, I believed I would lose coverage once I turned 21. Dr. Zive has a high-tech machine in his office that creates crowns on demand, and he seems to love using it. However, I did not need crowns. I had only ever needed one from a previous dentist, and that was it. Without discussing his plan with me beforehand, he numbed my gums in multiple places, ground down three of my front teeth, and then showed me what they looked like before placing the crowns. By the time I realized what had happened, it was too late to reverse it. The experience was incredibly traumatizing. I didn't return to his office for about five years, nor did I see any other dental providers during that time due to the mistrust his actions caused. When I finally went back for a cleaning, I spoke with a dental assistant about my experience and fears. She reviewed my chart and confirmed that my teeth had been in good condition--there was no reason for them to be ground down or for crowns to be placed. This only reinforced my belief that Dr. Zive committed insurance fraud. To make matters worse, my son later became a patient of his, and Dr. Zive was noticeably short-tempered and impatient with him. Instead of guiding my son through the process and comforting him, he seemed irritated and dismissive. I have never pursued legal action or tried to make money off of this situation, but I am deeply upset by what happened. I will never be able to undo the damage done to my teeth.

Had to go to a surgeon to have him remove the final 2 implants. When I went to my regular dentist he said there should be a law suit against him.

First girl I spoke to stated that I was right and my bill was paid in full but still tried to get more money from me and when I refused, she told me that she would speak to her manage about the matter. I received a call back in about an hour and this person told me that she heard that I was screaming at the previous person I spoke to. I stated to her that I never raised my voice at all and that the girl I spoke to was not telling her the truth. I was then accused of lying. VERY POOR customer service from office staff. Would NEVER go back there!!

Dr. Smith and his entire staff completely turned him around in a matter of seconds! Dr. Smith was telling jokes, doing magic tricks, and chatting it up in his fun, silly way and totally connected with my son. He came home so excited at the prospect of braces! I am grateful for the impressive bedside manner & professionalism everyone who works at the office exhibits. MY 2 older sons have smiles that light up the room, thanks to Dr. Smith and his crew. I would recommend them to anyone who needs braces (or Invisalign!)

My experience with this…read moreorthodontist was a nightmare, a nightmare I had to go through on my own as a young teenager since I didn't have the support of my parents. If I sit here and say all the things I experienced, I wouldn't have enough room. What I will say is I never felt like the overall health of my mouth/teeth was a priority to them. I really do believe their goal was the way the teeth looked for a quick "after" pic, and nothing else. I had a bridge on the roof of my mouth and my braces on for too Long and when they removed my braces/bridge, one of the Reens drilled my front teeth including my gums. My gums were always swollen because I was on medication, but they always told me it was my fault lol so the day they removed the braces my gums were covering a lot of my small teeth. On the day the removal when Reen was drilling my teeth and my gums I thought I was going to die. It was very painful, there was blood all over the place. the mother of the kid who was sitting next to me said something because she clearly saw I was in pain, she saw the way he pushed me down on the chair when I tried to get up and she saw all the blood I'm sure. He told her off and told her to mind her business. I should have yelled, but I thought he knew what he was doing. Anyway, years later I am suffering from the drilling he made on my front teeth because he drilled too far and made literal lines, which caused browning/yellowing. It doesn't matter how many times I brush my teeth, when you drill a tooth and make a hole you've already messed up the tooth And I'm sure he knew it but he wanted the outcome for a few minutes to look as if he did a great job. I'm grown now, and I know what they did to me was wrong And illegal. I wish I could go back and stand up for myself. I'm pretty pissed that now I gotta come out of pocket to fix something I already paid to fix. They made my teeth SO MUCH WORSE. I can't smile, I can't laugh without covering my mouth. It's caused so much depression I hate it so bad. please stay with your kids at these apts. watch what they are doing. You are paying them and those are your kids. They wouldn't have any business without you. Sorry the review is all over the place. Thank you for reading!
