Dr Romero accepted me to her practice even though I was a transfer patient. She was very understanding and kind to me. It's important to feel that your doctor has your back. I felt that with Dr Romero. I was able to trust her and feel comfortable with her. I was less stressed, because I had a doctor who was not only a professional, but a sister and a friend. She listened to my concern and educated me and supported me during my pregnancy. If you have a high risk pregnancy and you need to see a MFM-(Maternal Fetal Medicine) then I recommend Dr Romero.

Even if the waiting room was full, she never made me feel rushed. She always took the time to answer all of my questions thoroughly and honestly. She never overpromised, and her down-to-earth nature made me feel like I was talking to someone I had known and trusted my entire life. While we had planned for a c-section (as my first two pregnancies were), my baby decided to arrive earlier than expected. By sheer luck, Dr. Nseyo was on call that day. She never pushed her medical opinion on my husband and me but instead provided the information we needed, respected our decisions, and guided us with compassion and clarity. In the operating room, she made me feel safe, supported, and truly heard. That care has continued in my postpartum visits. She listens attentively and responds with empathy and sincerity every single time. I would and will recommend Dr. Nseyo at every opportunity. At best, I can say that she's not a trauma-informed provider and seems to be a stereotypical surgeon with zero bedside manner and an ego the size of Canada. At worst, it seems like she may not actually care about her patients at all beyond seeing them as potential stats with which to bolster her career and her own self-image. My experience with her was truly loathsome and I don't wish one like it on any other patient. It took five more years of excruciating pain and going to another KP district, out of her sphere of influence, to get the care that I'd needed for 20 years at that point. To that surgeon, it was perfectly obvious that I needed surgical intervention. All was explained by the crap she later hauled out of me. It took a surgeon willing to be curious, to listen, and to believe what she was hearing. Eve Zaritsky did not have any of those in her at that consult nor in the communication that followed; she was nothing short of a cold, abrupt, impatient, gas-lighting troll. Far from being a healer, she did damage to me that day and later refused to take any responsibility for her words and actions. Suffice it to say, I'm not a fan.

And when I read all the great reviews, I knew I needed her in my life. Boy were these reviews right on the money!!!! I needed to find a new GYN because my old provider was on some bullish*t charging me extra money because I "asked too many questions" during my exam causing her to run 10 minutes late. WTF!!!!! What about all those times I waited in the waiting room or played second fiddle to folks who had an emergency?!!? Never the less, I knew it was time to seek someone new. As a women, it's always hard (at least for myself) to find a new GYN because its like going through a divorce and finding a new man. I was so nervous on my first visit with Alice. How was she going to be, how was the facility going to be. Well my visit was the best visit ever!!!! I loved Alice so much I wish I could take her home and share he with all my friends. Not only was she concerned about my wellness exam but we also talked a lot of other life stuff and she gave me some great advice and recommendations for things I was seeking. She was so professional and kind. I didn't feel like just another patient with her. I was so comfortable and felt like I was seeing her for years. I HAVE HAD TO UPDATE MY REVIEW FOR SOME REASON I CANNOT EDIT MY OTHER ONE SO HERE IS THE UPDATED…read moreONE BASED ON MORE INTIMIDATION Sutter Health, through Alice Cannan, N.P. (RN License No. 497575) and Sutter team , failed me in a way that should concern anyone who expects patients to be heard and treated with basic care and accountability. I presented with severe, persistent pelvic pain, returned repeatedly for help, and was given round after round of unnecessary antibiotics despite no confirmed infection. The ultrasound showed a thickened endometrial lining that was not called out as it should have been, and the delay in diagnosis caused real harm to my body and prolonged suffering. All of this is documented in the medical record, expert declarations, and the court filings in Alameda County. During the relevant time period, Nurse Alice Cannan was on disciplinary probation with the California Board of Registered Nursing, and that information is publicly available. If I went back six times, that should have been a sign that something was seriously wrong and that someone should have paid attention. I am only updating this because I have once again been threatened by Alice Cannan's lawyer, Denise Billups-Slone, who has gone so far as to contact Yelp's legal team. Yelp legal contacted me and told me I was within guidelines, so I am not being silenced by intimidation. This kind of response is exactly the problem: patients with honest, documented complaints are not heard, are not apologized to, and are instead threatened, buried, and pressured into silence. I am happy to discuss my experience with anyone. Please make your own decision, but I believe patients deserve transparency and accountability, not legal bullying when they speak the truth about negligent care. One would think that if a patient returns six times, someone would actually pay attention. Instead, I got repeated antibiotics, repeated delays, and repeated threats. I will continue to speak honestly about my experience.

FPA provided me the cost over the phone, at which point I scheduled. I paid in full at my appointment, only to receive a bill a few weeks later for over $200 for lab tests- a fee that was never mentioned over the phone or in person. Had I known this charge, I might have went elsewhere for my appointment. I called the FPA clinic for help and have had multiple employees say they would help, and then have no follow up and changing stories with each employee I talk to. As a patient, they failed to disclose all fees and then failed to resolve the issue- mentioning responses such as "that team member who told you they resolved the issue was fired recently". Horrible care - I will be reporting the clinic and do not recommend anyone coming to this clinic. For the patients who come here and do not know how to advocate for themselves, they would unfairly be out hundreds of dollars.

I underwent a myomectomy for fibroids and endometriosis, and as this was my first surgery, I was very scared going into the process. He is not only highly knowledgeable and educational, but also genuinely caring. He helped me advocate for what was important to me both in surgery and during recovery, and I always felt that my concerns were heard and respected. What stood out to me most was how available and responsive he was. After having surgery for a 10 cm cyst on my ovary last December I was finally diagnosed with Endometriosis. My doctor said I would probably need surgery again but just suggested more birth control. My symptoms seemed to have always been downplayed and my doctors were very dismissive. When I asked to see a specialist I was denied. Thankfully someone I know recommended Dr Chen and he agreed to care for me without a referral. I'm telling you this man has been a godsend to my life. He's the only doctor that has ever shown any sense of urgency to help me. He's genuine, very down to earth and easy to talk to. During my first visit I was still struggling with my recovery from my previous surgery. Dr. Chen later discovered my ovary had been damaged. I was overwhelmed physically, emotionally and just learning about endometriosis based mostly on researching online. I had so many questions and he patiently answered every one of them directly. I knew very quickly that he was highly intelligent in this field. He went over the same images that my previous doctor went over with me and the knowledge that he shared with me was so much more in depth. Not only that he was ready to take action. My endometriosis was stage 4. It had traveled into both sides of my diaphragm resulting in chronic neck pain and a stiff neck that would flare up once a month with my cycle. My organs and pelvic floor were frozen together with scar tissue and lesions causing inflammation in my stomach, hip pain, pain with sex, abnormal bleeding and fatigue. Dr. Chen performed excision surgery alongside a thoracic surgeon for my diaphragm and a hysterectomy. The day of my surgery everyone was so kind and although I was expected to stay in the hospital for two days, I was able to go home the same night. I instantly felt relief from my previous symptoms. I am 7 weeks post op. I am still sore and I will be starting physical therapy but finally feel optimistic about the quality of my life improving. I'm so thankful to finally feel heard and cared for. He and his team have been top-notch from the beginning.

She came in and soothed me, told me not to worry. Her calming presence helped distill the anxiety the other doctor had accidentally brought out. It's been 19 years and I'm still Dr. Thomas' patient. Over the years, I've discovered a couple other girlfriends have her as their doctor as well. All of us rave about her. In recent years, I've been diagnosed with cancer.
