This is my second time with braces and a first time as an adult with braces so I wanted to make sure I found the right orthodontist. I called around and made several consultations and Dr. Lane was one of my first. His office staff is welcoming and he's quite the character himself. He's extremely knowledgeable, kind, and clearly communicates what he plans to do and what he's doing as he's working. After my thorough (and free) consultation I knew I found the one so it was an easy choice to make. I'm nearing the end of my orthodontic journey and I'm a little sad that I won't be going in as much but I'm so happy with my results--he truly has an eye and gift to get everything just right. When my kids need braces in the next few years, I know who I'm going to!

If you have a child with you and you need to get dental work...don't bring them here you'll waste…read moreyour time. I've been to 3 dentist office in 4 years and I'm always asked if my son will be with me. I understand there's sometimes kids who don't behave but don't assume my child is one of them. And when I tell you my kid is a calm kid then you need trust and see how it goes afterwards. I get to the front desk and First Lady asks if I have someone to watch him. Which is a common question and I assure her that he's a calm kid and he'll be fine and she says okay. My son wasn't making any noise, wasn't running around. And no, I don't have someone to watch him because mother works and I work in the afternoon. It's the only time I can take care of my needs. Then I have nurse come by to tell me we need to do X-rays and if I have someone to watch him. Again I say no I don't but he can stay off to the side while I'm doing the X-rays. I get it, it's radiation. Me and him have done this before he knows what to do. She tells me to hold on while she asks and proceeds to take 10 minutes doing whatever it was she was doing (does it take that long to ask a question?) and approaches me and just says okay I'm ready for you. Well I assumed we were good and I tell my son who is calmly sitting down watching a movie on my phone to walk with me. As we're walking some other lady receptionist gets up (mind you she's in the back and not sure what her Tuesday was like but girl sit down) and tells me oh he can't go back there... I'm taken a back trying to figure out what the hell is going on and what's the big issues I thought this was sorted out. I start arguing with them we already went over this and she says because we don't want him running around and I'm telling you're assuming he's like that, look at him..he's doing nothing but standing next to me. So I have him, a 3 YEAR OLD... sit down by himself in the waiting area meanwhile I thought I was just gonna do the X-rays and then I could bring him back there. Nope. We go to a room where they have two chairs and I said oh are we doing the x rays here and the mute nurse says yes and then cleaning and I said okay well can I bring him after the X-rays and she says no we can't. So basically I was gonna leave him out there by himself the whole time. I asked what's the big deal, why can't I just have him sit there...of course another nurse intercedes and starts telling me AGAIN..well we don't want him running around... Guys! Communicate...hell man...I've been through this at other offices. They accommodate. Okay. Not every kid is the same. Don't assume. Me and him have done this before. He knows to just sit and chill. And "Business owner" don't tell me to call relations just so you guys don't get real feedback here for everyone else to see knowing relations isn't gonna do crap about these ladies attitudes. My wife is an employee at Loma Linda University and I did not choose to go here. Business owner, the front office has my number if you'd like to contact me. They know who I am. They won't forget this interaction and neither will I.

The dental work I received was unacceptable and had to be corrected by another dentist. That alone speaks volumes. I have some background knowledge in dentistry -- enough to recognize when work is done properly and when it is not -- and the treatment I received fell far below professional standards. No patient should have to pay twice to fix work that should have been done correctly the first time. What was even more disappointing was the behavior of the front office staff. When I called to explain why I was unhappy with my last visit, why I will not be booking again ever. The woman I spoke with immediately became passive-aggressive and argumentative. Instead of listening or attempting to resolve the issue, she dismissed my concerns and spoke to me as though she had personally performed the procedure herself. It was defensive, unprofessional, and completely inappropriate. Patients deserve to be heard -- not challenged or belittled. The only positive part of my experience was the dental hygienist, who was kind and professional. Unfortunately, that was not enough to outweigh the poor quality of dental work and the careless customer service. I will not be returning to this office and will be contacting my insurance provider regarding my experience. I would strongly encourage others to carefully consider their options before seeking treatment here. Also to avoid their $95 cancellation fee just don't schedule here at ALL.

Sonia, the office manager, is so sweet and helpful. She was able to get me in for a same day appointment and also squeeze me in for an emergency tooth extraction at the end of the day because I was in so much pain. I will forever be grateful for that!! Alex is also amazing and takes the time to explain everything without feeling rushed. He assisted Dr. Kim with my surgery and they both made me feel so comfortable and at peace during the procedure because I was extremely nervous. It's been a couple weeks now and I couldn't be happier with the healing process. This office shows how much they care for their patients. I highly recommend them for any of your dental needs!

Be careful if you go here, I have seen other reviews with similar experiences as me and it seems…read morelike they try to give unnecessary and pricey treatments. I would definitely check with another dentist for a second opinion if you are skeptical of the treatments they try to scare you with. I came in as a new patient as my prior dentist is now out of network. I am young, never had problems with my teeth and just wanted to go for the biannual cleaning appointment. After they took my X-rays, I was moved to a small room then later moved again to a nicer room with tall windows (not sure why, maybe a first impression tactic). The male dentist told me I would need a deep cleaning treatment to remove plaque and lower my risk of gum disease (he pointed out 3 very small areas of it from my X-rays and asked if my gums bled easily, I said no, he proceeded to explain the risks of gum disease). At this point I have already been here for almost 3 hours, got nothing but X-rays done and needed to leave. He said the benefits coordinator will speak more about the treatment and we can reschedule. The benefits coordinator then showed me how much the treatment would cost, which turned out to be $577 out of pocket after insurance. I never had to pay for dental treatments and became skeptical, asked if it was needed or if I could just get the regular cleaning. He said it was needed and also offered financing options. I said I would think about it and they sent me off with the printed receipts for today and the future deep cleaning treatment. I looked more into the receipt at home and found a few odd things. Some of the codes used did not match my insurance page. For example, codes D4999 and D1206 should be covered by my insurance but the receipt still charged some under the patient. I also found codes D1110 and D1120 on my insurance page that was related to plaque removal and cleaning ($0 out of pocket) but were not used or found among the other codes in the receipt. Total estimated fee was $1,478 where insurance would pay $373.40 and my out of pocket was $577.60. There is a discount of $527 that they stated to give me, however if you do the math it seems like the discount went to insurance: $1478 - $577.60 = $900.40 (how much is left after my out of pocket) - $527 = $373.40 (how much insurance is paying after subtracting the discount). My insurance plan should be covering 80% and I 20%, but turns out to cover 60% and I 40% before the discount. I have called and talked to the benefits coordinator about this just to hear what they have to say. He made it seem like I misunderstood the codes, explaining that my insurance does not cover some of the treatment and the "removal of plaque" code was a polishing code. I understand I could be misunderstanding the meaning of the codes, however I still did not believe that I truly needed this extensive treatment. He also said they would never discount insurance and that I was reading the numbers wrong as my out of pocket would have been in the $1000s, but the math was very clear it went to insurance on the receipt.. I just said thank you and requested a copy of my X-rays to get a second professional opinion (which they never sent). I ended up going back to my prior dentist even though she's out of network, got my regular cleaning done and was told my teeth were good. Just be careful if you go here, dentist firms are businesses too, sadly.
