I hired David for a client's housewarming party. There were about 75-80 guests in attendance. David was extremely helpful in the planning process - advising how much alcohol to buy; how many wine, martini, rocks, water, and shot glasses we would need; what mixers and condiments we should have. His glassware rentals are less expensive than any party rental place I looked at. He also offered several money-saving ideas with respect to the bar and went out and purchased the mixers and condiments for me. David was extremely prepared the night of the party and did a fantastic job throughout the evening. My client and his guests had a great time. I am surprised by the comment in one review that David lacked personality. David is not the kind of bartender that will put on a show. In my experience, he was kind, professional, and respectful to the guests. He did his job (very well, I might add) and left the partying up to the guests (and boy, did they party). I would definitely recommend David and will use him again for future events. read more

A bit delayed on the review, but still worth noting! We hired David for a housewarming party, Mad Men themed. Although I knew what drinks I specifically wanted, David was very helpful in making sure everything was ready to roll once the guests arrived. David is very responsive and thorough, making sure everything was prepared, polished and professional. When he arrived to my house, he was quick to set-up his things and prep the "bar." My guests were very impressed with David and his drinks -- many of which asked for his email during and after the party. It was such a relief to enjoy the party and not worry about filling everyone's glasses or making sure the cocktails were just right. David even started picking up the empty glasses and rinsing them out -- they were plastic! He was above and beyond what we had hoped for, and would hire him anytime. read more

David tended bar at our recent holiday party for 40 people at a friend's home. David was so good with the crowd, asking if anyone needed a drink and made a fantastic pomegranate martini. Yum. He was fully stocked with supplies, arrived with plenty of time to set up, and even helped clear up glassware throughout the night. The party host was a bit particular on where he wanted certain things and how the bar was set up and David rolled right along with it. He gave his professional opinion and was very respectful of our ideas. He is a great addition to the party - I wholeheartedly recommend him! read more

We hired David to bartend a tiki party in our backyard for 50 people for my husband's 40th birthday. Since we were in the backyard and not truly a 'bar' I thought our drink menu would be limited but David said it would be no problem and we featured 10 "tiki" drinks and truly transformed our backyard into a tiki garden complete with a full bar of fun tiki drinks. The party was a huge success and people had so much fun that David was a very busy bartender all night. He did not seem flustered or overwhelmed in any way and was in fact very calm. He was also instrumental in directing the less experienced housekeeper on the small details that I otherwise would have had to tell her. For example, he ensured that she set-up the water station while I was running to pick-up the food. I realized I was in such good hands that even as the hostess I was able to let my hair down and enjoy the party. Something that I have never truly done but my husband and guests appreciated. The drinks were incredibly well made and multiple people commented on how knowledgeable David was. He was able to give a lot of background and history on the tiki drinks we were serving. Not only is David an incredible bartender but he really adds value when it comes to drink planning and purchasing. He patienly spent time with me planning the drink menu making sure we didn't pick a drink that would require an obscure liquer = added expense. He also purchased all of the alcohol for us and brought the garnishes, juices, ice and special glassware all at a very reasonable rate. I can't imagine having a party again without David! read more

When my small election night party turned into a full fledged bash we decided to hire a bartender. I found David the night before and he just happened to be available. I have to say I was blown away with the service, attention to detail, and professionalism. He helped me design signature drinks, brought in all necessary supplies, and impressed the heck out of my guests. I would not even hesitate to call David. His rates were reasonable and worth every last penny! read more

We hired David to bartend at a party at our studio. He was fabulous! Completely professional with valuable input and advice...we'll definitely use him again! read more

If you're looking to hire him on a Saturday night and you're outside of the city, in my case the South Bay, he's not gonna be available for you. Even though we asked for his availability 18 months out for a Saturday night he said he wasn't interested as he has stuff to do in the city and not worth the drive down. Nice part is he calls back. Not sure if he knows he's on yelp since he doesn't know how his number is being distributed. read more

I hired David to bartend at a surprise party for my boss. We had about 50 guests and almost all of them commented on what a pro he was. David made the planning so easy! He even supplied 80 pounds of ice, all of the necessary cocktail prep supplies, created a signature cocktail menu, made us a shopping list, set up and cleaned up and most of all poured great drinks! His rate was only about $25/ hour+ gratuity which we determeined at the end of the event. I highly recommend him for his professionalism and knowledge of spirits and cocktails. We will definitely use him for future events and parties! read more

Just hired David to bartend for my husband's surprise 40th birthday party. He was actually willing to drive all the way out to the East Bay/Tri-Valley, and brought with him everything he would need to set up the bar. Communications before the party were always very helpful and prompt. On the day of the party David showed up right on time, and was all set and ready to go when our guests arrived. He even had a drink waiting for the birthday boy when he arrived! David always kept busy, refilling drinks, cleaning glassware and even taking out trash as needed. All 30 of our guests RAVED about his level of service, and everyone had a fantastic time! I would not hesitate to recommend David, and hope to use him again in the future! read more

I hired David for my birthday dinner and I could not be happier with the level of service he gave. I had about 25 close friends attend the event and everyone adored him. David was professional, trustworthy, affable and courteous - he also made a mean Mojito. We spent about an hour planning the event and he made it super easy by supplying the ice, supplies and table. I was even able to rent the glassware from him at an affordable price. He was super helpful going above and beyond; When I ran behind in schedule he helped me set up for the party. This guy is a rockstar! On another note, I called several places and he has the best rates in town. Add the exemplary service and you have a winning combination. I would highly recommend him for his services and will definitely use him again. read more

Just a note to say that so far this year, David has been a bartender at FOUR parties at our house.... repeat customer here!

We hired David to bartend our wedding of approximately 60 people. Several of our guests raved about how great he is - both at making drinks and conversation. He was extremely helpful throughout the planning process, offering advice on how much liquor to purchase and what to rent. We saved a lot of money based on his recommendations! He is a pleasure to work with and I highly recommend him. read more

We hired David for a recent Holiday party at our home for about 45 guests. Our experience with him was a professional one from the get-go. We communicated over email to determine exactly what we were responsible for and what he was responsible for. In our case, we decided that we would handle the booze and barware, and David would handle the mixers, ice and garnishes. He suggested different garnishes and mixers, and he asked us to send him anything else that we would like to offer our guests. To add a little more "class" to our bar, he offered to bring linen drapes, something we didn't think of. This type of communictation defined the expecations of both parties, thus providing for a flawless night and stress-free night of celebration. He poured countless drinks for 40 guests thoughtout the night, without the slighest of hiccups. Some of the negative reviews we have read here seem quite far-fetched and fabricated. David is a pro, having been bartending since his early college days. His experience was evident from the start, having helped us better plan for our party, showing up on time with all the tools a bartendar needs, pouring great drinks, chatting with our guests, and even helping us clean and tidy-up before he left - something we did not ask of him. He did this out of his own goodwill, allowing my fiance and I to enjoy the last hour with the few guests that stuck around for a few late night drinks. We'd hire David again and again. Wonderful experience. read more

We hired David for an informal dinner party and wine tasting event for ~20 co-workers in Los Gatos. David organized signature cocktails (Mojitos) and arranged a blind tasting of 6 wines, with a competition to identify the grapes (I thought it would be easy but it wasn't!) and he talked knowledgably about them. He was very entertaining and charming with the guests and the evnt was a great success. I especially appreciated David handling all the supplies and selecting the drinks (we just provided soft drinks and beer). I would not hesitate to use David again! read more

Met Dave at a gallery event last night. He's a very nice guy and poured fantastic champagne cocktail.

David and his assistant Georgann bartended my wedding last Sunday and they were very courteous, professional, and responsible. David and I arranged for the day almost entirely online. He was very thorough, covered all bases in his role as bartender. David delivered on the drinks and extras he said he would bring and on my end, there was nothing to worry about. He is dependable and (I have to say it twice) extremely professional, definitely helped make our big day go along smoothly. read more

Thanks, Yelpers. Your reviews helped me find David for an office party. Although we served only beer, wine, and soda (at least we TRIED to serve soda, but no takers), David provided a nice set-up and worked cleaning up after guests while the bar was slow. He was immediately on top of the one spill we had that evening, and was coureous and professional all evening. He even stayed late when I couldn't get guests to leave on time. Highly recommended. read more

I've worked with David over the years. He is extremely professional and I never have to worry about anything when it comes to the bar service and planning for it. He is really involved in the process and gives great suggestions. When we have large events over 100 guests, he brings his colleague Julie and the two of them together work seamlessly. read more

We had a party with about 80 people this weekend. David was fantastic! Super professional, organized, friendly, and barely needed anything from us. He just made it seamless. His colleague Julie was a dynamo helping sort out food, coats, accidents, empties, whatever. Her attention to detail was superb. Thank you both! read more

David is an excellent and low-maintenance bartender. We have hired him twice for our annual holiday party and he brings ice and whatever else you might need. He is polite, professional and prompt. He also mixes a great lemon drop. Well, now that he has my recipe he does. ;) Seriously, he is exactly what I need in a bartender and I am sad he is too booked this year to help us out again. read more

David just worked a party for me. Not only did he make a mean margarita, he helped run the party and kept everything going. He was a great resource giving advice on what to buy, and how much. His team make the party effortless. I was able to be a guest at my own party. I look forward to working with David again. read more

We hired David for our party last night. He was a consummate gentleman, assisting in picking up around the house when his bartending duties slowed down. He was very helpful in helping us plan what drinks to offer and how much liquor we needed to purchase. We really appreciated his help. read more

We hired David Rogers for a private house party with approximately 50-60 guests. He was amazing! Helped determining what to buy, brought an entire set-up with him (including ice, rental glasses, lemons, limes, swizzle straws, etc.) and kept our guests happy all night! When he left after the party ended, it was as if (besides the residual tipsiness) he had never been there ... taking glasses and bar set-up with him. We had many guests ask where we found him and we will use him again any time we have the need for a bartender. read more

David was the bartender for our wedding party in Stinson Beach. There were about 125 guests, and he did a fantastic job. He spent a lot of time talking through preparation with me and made money and time saving suggestions. The day of the event, he showed up on time (with all of the bar necessities that I would never have thought of) and was able to set up his bar and get things rolling without us having to be there. He made delicious drinks, and out of this world margaritas, while keeping the line for the bar down. David also found two amazing professional caterers for me to hire to help him with the bar, clear tables etc., since I did not have the budget to hire a full service food caterer. The three of them together made the night seamless for us, and we were able to enjoy our party without worrying about a thing. David is a no nonsense guy who gets the job done. He also has the best interest of the hosts in mind -- when we ran out of tequila at the end of the party, he saved just enough to make the bride one last delicious margarita! We would not hesitate to hire him again. read more
