We moved to Scottsdale about six or seven years ago. My wife did a ton of research before picking a…read moredentist and she chose S&L with Dr. David Ngo. I went with a different place at first because it was closer to where we were living. Well, that turned out to be a mistake. I ended up having a bad experience there and finally switched to S&L. Dr. Ngo and his team fixed everything the other dentist had messed up. Right away I knew my wife had been right all along. I've been going to S&L for four years now and they really are the best dental office I've ever been to. Dr. Ngo has removed all my old metal fillings and replaced them with modern ones, plus he's done a couple of crowns for me. Everything looks and feels great. My wife has also been extremely happy with all the work he's done for her too. I'm almost 55 and I've seen a bunch of top-rated, highly recommended dentists over the years, both here in the US and a couple in Mexico. Nothing else comes close. One thing I have to mention is how good Dr. Ngo is with people who hate dental visits or get nervous about pain. His work is excellent, but it's the way he takes care of you that makes the biggest difference. For example, the way he does Novocaine shots is unbelievable. You barely feel it at all. Every dentist out there should learn his technique. With all that said, I do think the front office experience could be better. If the customer service up front matched Dr. David's clearly caring vibe, it would be 100% perfect. If you're looking for a truly professional dentist who gives five-star care and service, this is the place. Dr. David Ngo at S&L is the only one I would recommend without any hesitation.

I've been seeing Dr. Ngo since 2018. On my first visit he spent extensive time examining my teeth…read moreand mouth and explaining everything thoroughly. He is knowledgeable and professional and always takes time to check in, even during routine cleanings. I usually don't wait more than 5 minutes for my appointments. There have been times where I needed immediate dental care and they are able to work with you to fit you in as quickly as possible. I have recommended him to many people throughout the last 8 years! At a previous dental office in Miami I had a terrible experience that started with a routine cleaning that turned into a root canal 6 hours later and left me with significant anxiety with all things dental related. I found out a few years later after moving to Arizona that the root canal was not performed correctly and I had to get it re-done. Dr. Ngo is incredible at calming nerves and making you feel safe when in uncomfortable situations, especially with anxiety. He talks through every step in advance and during the procedures, so that there are no surprises. He takes extra time when numbing the mouth so that the pain is tolerable and at times barely noticeable. I really appreciate this and feel like it's rare to find. I highly recommend Dr. Ngo and S&L Dental for all your dental needs.

My wife and I had to find a new dentist and I did much research and calls. I had to have a cavity…read morefilled that couldn't wait too long. I was immediately pleased with my first call and the more I found out about this practice the more I was drawn to it. The transition from the last practice was easy because of the personable positive help and flexibility from the staff. When I first met Dr Fialkoff for my exam I felt as if I was a patient for years. It is hard to explain but the doctor projects a professional warm caring common-sense concern for the patient that I found in the first dentist we had for 30 years who has since retired. Dr. Fialkoff fit me in and filled the cavity during that first visit, and I believe we are going to be very pleased with our decision to have joined this practice.

Unnecessary procedures are done or recommended. Hygienists…read moreare good but they are in on the scam. More concerning is the dentist's refusal to speak with patient on phone or answer emails. Ever. That is all done through the lovely receptionist/scheduler. For my last xray taken in January 2025, I called and asked to speak with the dentist regarding the results and I was told that he could not take the call or answer any questions because he was "very sick" but the receptionist would be able to send me an email quoting what the dentist had told her. The office also returned my charge of $265 when I informed the office that I never received an explanation from the dentist. I brought this to the attention of Paradise Valley Dental. I was also told that a $10,000 correction (tooth extraction and implant) was necessary. After making an appointment for that procedure, I canceled realizing that this also was not needed. The dentist also made a "suggestion" that he could remove 2 more teeth since I made the comment that i "didn't like the color" of the two teeth. I declined the $10,000 procedure as well as the extraction/implant of the two teeth that I didn't like. In one letter, the receptionist referred to my first appointment with this office as being in 2018. That is incorrect. 2018 is the year I moved to Scottsdale. I did not originally seek treatment from them in 2018. When going through old Paradise Valley Dental bills. I found one that I was charged (and paid) for a $1200.00 surgery in Dec 2022. I called and emailed to ask why that surgery was done and what did "osseous surgery" mean. I had (and paid for) the surgery because I didn't ask upfront why it was needed. The only comment on the bill was "osseous surgery". It was extremely painful and expensive. When I asked about that bill and why I needed it, I could never get an answer. I went to a different dentist who told me that the tooth that Fialkoff wanted to extract , was just fine.
