Ask the Community - David McNay, DDS

What do they charge for a cleaning with and without x-rays?

Do you all do porcelain veneers?

We do veneers! What type and technique vary greatly based upon the way your teeth fit together, grinding habits, diet, etc. We would love to see you to give you a custom treatment plan.

Does this practice offer Invisalign?

We do clear aligner therapy in the office to straighten your teeth and improve your smile!

Has anyone had experience with dentures that are anchored in your mouth with this dentist?

We typically tag team with a prosthodontist who has put in their 10,000 hours on dentures and stabilization via implants. Please call our office to get these doctors' contact information.

Does anyone know if Dr. McNay takes Met Life insurance ? Bill D.

We do take Metlife insurance, although we are not an in-network provider. The joy of most Metlife policies is that they allow you to see any dentist and we have found they pay well, leaving you with very little or no out of pocket expenses.

I have a background in clinical operations so certain things stick out to me that may not matter to some. When I called to schedule my initial appointment the receptionist Kiara was very pleasant and highly efficient at her job. She sent me the new patient forms right away and upon arrival, all I had to do was provide my insurance and ID. I literally waited 5 minutes to be called to the back. My hygienist Kim, was amazing! She was attentive, personable, professional and kind. She did a great job of explaining everything to me as it was happening. I also think its very clever how they have televisions placed in the ceiling...I've never seen that before. The technology they used was so cutting-edge, I hate that I been missing out on them all this time but if things continue at this rate, they certainly have a lifer. Lastly my dentist, Jonathan I think was his name, fell in line with the rest of the experience. He also was professional, friendly and had a great energy about himself. This place has it together!

The dentist seemed rushed and didn't take the time to explain my treatment options clearly. Additionally, I was overcharged for a service that my insurance was supposed to cover, and getting a refund has been a hassle. I expected better professionalism and care, but unfortunately, I won't be returning. I hope they improve their customer service and communication in the future.

They were simply efficient, and coordinated. They were 100% ready to perform the services, the xray, the cleaning, everything. No waiting on my part. As for the service, again, very professional , and cordial. The assistant did majority of the work, and was careful to not inflict too much pain. The doctor came in and reviewed and QA all the work, and then provided a summary of the xray, teeth health, etc etc.

Through the years I have gotten several fillings, cleanings 3 times a year, and great referrals. In 2025, the dental hygienist suggested that I get a deep cleaning instead of a regular cleaning. I get my teeth clean three times a year for the last 12yrs and have very little plaque. On an X-ray there were circled to small spots that had plaque that they sent to my insurance company that could have easily been taken care of with a regular cleaning. The deep cleaning is more expensive and has over a hundred dollars out-of-pocket cost. I told them I did not want the deep cleaning. After that, the office staff refused to book an appointment for me unless, I got the deep cleaning instead of my usual cleaning. I can afford it, but I don't like dental offices forcing treatment on me because it's more profitable for them.

After…read morefinally getting dental insurance, I chose "WeSmile Dental," and unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing. From my first visit, everything felt rushed. I even explained that going to the dentist already causes me anxiety and asked that they take their time because I'm in no rush and the overall experience matters to me. During my second visit, I had three fillings. I was experiencing significant discomfort during the procedure and could feel the cavity and drill, but when I communicated this to the dentist, my concerns were attributed to anxiety rather than being addressed with additional Novocain. The fillings were completed, but I've continued to experience discomfort for nearly 2 weeks and still can't eat comfortably. Not to mention the dentist leaving twice mid procedure to service two other patients, which just made an already nerve wrecking procedure even longer. I returned because of the ongoing discomfort and swelling in my gums, but I felt that my concerns were dismissed. The dentist filed down some excess filling, which provided some relief, but the underlying discomfort remains. I requested a second opinion, only to have to cancel after being notified they no longer accept my insurance. However it would be accepted if I went back to the original dentist. I'm extremely frustrated and disappointed by the lack of attention to my concerns, communication, and proper follow-up. I'm now left having to find another dentist through my insurance to properly evaluate and address an issue I expected to have resolved at, "WeSmile Dental." I'm sharing my experience specifically for those thinking about going here. There's no need for the establishment themselves to respond with understanding nor disagreement. Dentists are licensed healthcare professionals who are trained to care for people and work in their mouths. Take your time. Don't rush through appointments. Listen when your patients tell you something doesn't feel right, treat them with care, and prioritize the person sitting in your chair! The lack of attention to my concerns and the insurance situation has been extremely frustrating and disappointing. In addition, there's no way all these comments are real people because I CANNOT be the only one who felt this or experienced something like this at this establishment.
