I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the service provided at the dental office…read more I would give this business a one-star rating and certainly cannot recommend it to others. The office appears to prioritize profit over patient care. It is concerning that the practice refers to its operations using corporate terminology like "front and back offices," treating patients more like line items than individuals. Furthermore, the fact that a front-desk employee was without a front tooth for several months reflects poorly on a business centered around dental health and aesthetics. It suggests a lack of investment in both staff and the professional image of the practice. To be clear, my feedback is not related to any nondiscrimination policies, but rather to the overall focus and quality of the business. PS: I have updated my review more than a year after my last visit to this office. Your decision to respond to my review by sending a letter to other dental offices--effectively preventing me from completing my treatment after you have already collected payment from both me and my insurance--raises serious concerns about your practice's conduct.

Seemed to be trying to upsell me. Definitely beware of this dental office and maybe even avoid it…read more I have GERD and am prone to dental problems. I went in for emergency care for a toothache in a molar when my regular dental office was often booked out and told me my insurance maxed out which I thought couldn't be correct as I didn't know dental insurance often had limits on what it will cover each year. Had to make multiple appointments and they were all close together. At Placerville Dental, the receptionist lady who handles billing told me that my insurance would fully cover it. A few months later, I received a surprise bill statement in the mail of nearly $1,000, apparently, I was lied to. I called asking why this happened. I was told it just took a while to verify with my insurance. Seems like a lame excuse. They said I had five cavities in my lower teeth. They numbed my entire lower jaw and did five fillings at once. Later, one of my premolars had a toothache. My regular dentist from Mather Field Dental recommended I get a root canal in that tooth and consult with an endodontist. The endodontist looked at my X-rays and said that the filling Placerville Dental placed in that tooth is right up against the nerve, irritating it. I got a root canal in the tooth that probably could have been avoided if the dentist at Placerville Dental did a better job. Placerville Dental did a cleaning and a non-surgical laser treatment in addition to a cleaning I got. As someone with health-related anxiety/OCD, this gave me the illusion that I was being given exceptional care. One of the times at Placerville Dental, when I expressed dental discomfort, the dentist dismissed me saying it was food on my teeth, which I did have as I didn't have time to brush my teeth properly beforehand. Yes, it's a good idea to clean your teeth right before dental appointments, but the dentist remarked that in such a way that it made me feel scolded. How rude. At one point, the dentist at Placerville Dental took X-rays and this time said the tooth with the toothache had irreversible pulpitis, but when I went to an emergency visit with my regular dentist, Dr. Tapang at Mather Field Dental, he took an X-ray and he also agreed that there was an infection in the tooth. He prescribed me a course of antibiotics and it made the toothache go away while Placerville Dental didn't do sh*t.

The cost is very reasonable compared to our last dentist. Wish we would have found her sooner. They recently moved from Diamond Springs to a bigger, nicer and more modern office in Placerville but the same kind, courteous and friendly professionalism remains. My Dentist recommended Dr. Sanders as I was previously a patient of Dr. Atkinson who had retired. I am also a unique case as I was going into this third round to have upper & lower jaw surgery with the braces. I was extremely excited to learn that Dr. Sanders specializes in surgery cases and I was on board immediately. Dr. Sanders is very meticulous in his work. He worked diligently with me, my dentist and my surgeon to make sure my jaw journey would have the best end result. He never rushed the process (although my teeth wouldn't have allowed that anyway because they were pretty happy where they were to begin with) and was always very positive with me when I had concerns. He even personally called me to calm me down when I was worried about how off my bite was after surgery. This Dr. works magic, let me tell you. My bite was so far off after surgery that I was sure the surgeon messed something up and I'd have to go through that misery once again. He assured me that sometimes after surgery the bite is not where it should be and that he was confident he could make it perfect. It was amazing how quickly my bite changed for the better. It was quite a process for me and he and his staff were always MORE THAN patient with me. His staff truly are amazing people who are very gentle as well as respectful of everyone's specific needs. I will hands-down recommend Dr. Sanders and his team to anyone (young or, in my case, OLD) seeking orthodontia. I'm now 39 yrs, 5 months old and I got my braces off today! It has been 7 months since my jaw surgery. With how far off my bite was after surgery, I was hoping to get my braces off by my 40th birthday. Well, Dr. Sanders and his team amazed me and now they're off much earlier than I had anticipated. Thanks so much Dr. Sanders & team!
