I would shave half a star off of a perfect score for feeling rushed through appts. But, also another 1.5 stars for being wildly overcharged for a medical device. At my appt I was made to sign a quote form stating that I would be responsible for the full charge of the medical device if my insurance didn't pay. Fine. But, here's where things come off the rails a bit, the quote stated the device was $390. The dr's office then billed my insurance $499. Come to find out the exact same medical device is listed online for $50. In most any other field this would be considered price gouging, but, somehow in the great old US of A, instead this is called "healthcare." My advice, if you are in need of an orthopedic doctor, then Dr. Friedland is a good bet, but, buyer beware when purchasing any medical devices directly from the office because you will likely pay handsomely for them. Unfortunately, I learned my lesson the hard way.

I had spine issues and it aggravated coz I couldn't get any appointments for weeks and I was stuck with him since he was to refer me to pain management moving forward. The supporting doctors that visit their office onsite are a huge bottleneck since the supporting doctors make sure they take a looooooong time to generate reports!! Definitely stay away and save your life !!

Anyhow, after…read moreyears of struggling with a problematic ankle, I finally had surgery on it done by him and the results have been good so far. Everyone at the office is very kind and dedicated, literally. They are good about checking people for Covid symptoms including taking temperatures. Dr. Perry is great and his diagnostic skills reflect the many years he's been fixing foot and ankle issues. He didn't even need to send me for an MRI and knew what the problem was immediately (MRIs are time-consuming and often unnecessary I've found and insurance often will give substantial pushback before agreeing to pay for them). I went to a few other doctors over the years prior to my finding Dr. Perry and none were real interested in fixing the problem, instead recommending more conservative treatments. I'm glad to have this behind me now! The one thing I would suggest they do is close the doors of the exam rooms. There are a few other doctors who work there, and they work with mostly older people who come in with a litany of complaints that they often loudly bark out. Also, some of them have personal problems that they tend to whine about to the receptionist. Other than that, the office is great. Nice waiting area with automatic doors and usually you can find a place to park near the front door unlike other medical offices where you have to park, walk to the building, take an elevator, walk down the hall, etc. Not real convenient if you're on crutches haha Thanks again guys, I appreciate it!

Since I wrote my last review, I have seen Dr. Perry in the Orthopedic Medical Center office and he…read moredid surgery on my ankle at West Hills Hospital. The first time I saw him was in the Professional Orthopedics office across from the hospital. He has continuously fixed my ankle and foot problems. He knows everything there is to know about them and his diagnostic skills are the best I have ever seen - I went to a few other doctors before going to him and none of them were even one-tenth as good as he is. Highly recommended. He is only in this office one day a week, Wednesdays usually, but it was usually not hard to get an appointment with him. But because he is only there Wednesdays, all of his patients kind of come there at one time and you will definitely have a wait before he gets around to you. It's always worth the wait though and the staff are very nice. The office is very busy because all of the doctors there are good and really popular - it's funny they don't have more reviews on here but I think most of their patients are old and are probably not online or just not into writing reviews. If you break or sprain your ankle or foot, see Dr. Perry. He'll know how to fix it immediately and get you back up and running ASAP.

He had the audacity to ask me how long I had been a doctor to disagree and I told him I had been questioning one for 20 minutes. My auric Acid level twice were normal and they can be normal when you have gout but he stormed out of the hospital room stating I didn't want any help. Upon discharge I drove to providence Tarzana Hospital and was immediately taken in for surgery for NECROTIZING FASCIITIS, a deadly and serious infection. I almost lost my leg. But Dr. Perry, you still think you're right with the Gout. There also were no crystals found when they opened my foot. He is a pompous ass.

It took 3 months to get into see him for consultation but we'll worth the wait! My husband was only 40 at the time and after going over his imaging and history he suggested something much different than what Dr. Grossman at SCOI wanted to do to him! (3 discectomies & fusion) holy crap! Dr. Taban said "absolutely not! You're young and healthy...You'll be back in 10 yrs for more surgery!" His recommendations were clearly what my husband needed and we scheduled his surgery w/Taban-had to wait 3 months for the date (that's how busy he is) but again we'll worth to wait! When Dr. Taban got going on the surgery he found that one of my husband's disks had ruptured, and that definitely explained why he was in so much more pain... So he cleaned up all the fragments as well as the bulges and said, there was plenty of disc remaining. No need to remove them. He also performed a Foraminotomy, and a laminectomy, as well as drilled the holes wider for the nerve roots to flow freely through. My husband was a new man within a week! Dr. Taban is amazing! My husband has been doing wonderful ever since-20 years later. He still has some soreness that he has to deal with and does see a chiropractor sometimes. We learned so much through this, and we're so grateful that we found this Dr. Taban. Do not let anyone touch your spine unless they're a neurosurgeon! Even if they're a "spine specialist" don't waste your time! Go to a neurosurgeon. Highly recommend Dr. Taban! P.S. At his office, in the lobby there's lots of reading material available which consists of hundreds of letters from patients thanking him and I can't remember how many of those letters were from people who were hacked by a different doctor and we're coming to Dr. Taban to fix/clean up their mess!

During the first visit, he made assumptions about my financial situation based on the condition of my boot, which I was unable to remove due to severe pain. When he noticed this, he told me to remove the boot, then grabbed and squeezed my foot, causing me to scream in pain. I refused to see him again after that. The second time I was referred to him by Dr. Goli. During this visit, he was verbally abusive, and his staff behaved unprofessionally regarding my background ( nationality and upbringing) and symptoms ( they told me what symptoms I had). Dr. Meratee subjected me to a highly aggressive interrogation regarding personal questions and instructed me to exercise for several hours, five days a week, despite the fact that I cannot walk. Following this visit, I experienced severe physical and psychological pain.
