Absolutely useless. I used to deal with local opticians in Great Yarmouth who were taken over by…read moreArmstrong and North. I bought designer frames in the USA and took them in for lenses and paid a deposit. I never heard any more and when I went in today to get my frames and deposit back, I found the store locked and closed. I have emailed them, but not expecting a response. This is an utterly useless and hopeless company compared to my previous opticians. Avoid them at all costs
This is another decent shopping centre. Useful as it is undercover so if the weather turns too bad…read moreyou have somewhere to escape and dry off. There is a wide range of shops in Emery gate which boasts travel agents, mobile phone stores, a hairdressers, sports shop, opticians, card shop, jewellers and a back entrance into Woolworths. There is also a new tesco store so you can pick up any bits you need without having to go to one of the out of town supermarkets unnecessarily. Plenty of parking available but it does tend to fill up early at the weekends.

There are independent shops such as the pet shop, health food etc. There is Boswells coffee shop in the centre and that makes the whole shopping centre appealling. The large Tesco Metro which took Somerfields place is the end of the shopping centre. The car park to access this centre is below the shopping centre and allows 1 hour parking for 50p. This is the only car park that still allows this. You can wheel your tesco trolley right down to your car and leave it in the car park trolley bay. So 5 stars for this shopping centre.

It may be a little shabby upstairs but they do a very thorough examination and they're all very friendly and laid back. It's the only optician I've ever been to which (I think) get my prescription right every time. I recommended this place to my girlfriend and after a couple of bad experiences with prisms and other opticians, they got her right first time. Sorted her out with a good quality set of frames too. Big time recommendation.
Beresford Opticians have been around since 1994... not quite as long as Stewart Greenburg…read moreOpticians, a few doors down the same road, but very different in style. There's little to choose between the two in terms of professionalism and services offered, but I would say that Beresford Opticians are more focussed on meeting everyone's needs than their competitors, in that they provide comprehensive eye care for everybody, not just the well heeled. It's simply a question of positioning. Beresford Opticians pitch their business to all, and Stewart Greenburg Opticians are more into their designer labels and soliciting businesses from wealthier patrons. Like Stewart Greenburg Opticians, Beresford Opticians is an independent practice, but they actively welcome both Private and NHS patients. They also carry an extensive range of designer glasses and sunglasses, but it isn't as comprehensive as the range that you will find at Stewart Greenburg Opticians, who claim that they could very well stock the largest selection of designer frames at affordable prices in South Wales. I like Beresford's. They have one outlet, and so all of their energy is focused right where it's needed. They have spent some time considering the look of the place, which is modern and funky, but most of their efforts are centered on their customers.
