SUPER disappointed with my experience here. Booked with a senior colorist for a partial balayage. I had to split up the haircut and color because of time constraints with work. This is the only appt I could get before my baby shower. Stylist spent like 40 min on the partial highlight and I didn't see her again for the remainder of my appt. She didn't even check to make sure the tone looked good (I am a blonde). I was really looking forward to this to being a relaxing experience as it is the last hair service before I have my baby. I was told that I didn't book a separate blow dry so I needed to leave with wet hair as a blow dry is not factored into the appointment. I would have GLADLY paid, I always have at other salons, but it is always factored into the appt. I said how will they check the color and she said oh they can just dry a portion of the top of your head? WTF. This service cost $300 and DOES NOT EVEN INCLUDE A BLOW DRY IN THEIR SCHEDULE. I have been getting my hair colored multiple times per year for 20 years and I have never, ever heard of this. How can you charge $300 for a partial balayage (which is astronomical btw) and not even factor in a blow dry? I am convinced this place is a money grab and they don't care about their clientele at all. I left the salon in tears with unbrushed, wet hair and highlights I'm not even sure if I like or not because my hair is still wet. 0/10 this place sucks, don't waste your money. read more

Extremely disappointed in how this salon handled our reservation. I'll start by saying I have visited this spa on multiple occasions to celebrate Mother's Day, couples spas and more with family and friends. I've always had a good experience, until I planned a 50th birthday girls spa day for 5 of my friends. Unfortunately, the night before our spa day, our birthday girls' husband suffered cardiac arrest and was rushed to the hospital. Needless to say, we were not going to the spa in the morning. After almost a month in the hospital, and a miracle, her husband is home and recovering. We reached out to the spa to reschedule our day. We needed to pay a 50% deposit and under stood this was non-refundable when we booked, however we had hoped the owners would have understood that an emergency situation was the only reason we had to cancel, rather postpone, our day. We would have loved to come back and celebrate more than just a birthday, and more than taken care of the staff had they accommodated us. However they decided that 'rules are the rules' and would keep our $700 deposit and not apply to a future visit. Needless to say, why would we ever come back? And patronize a business that has no heart or understanding for their clients. Sadly, I will not return or bring anyone to David Witchell again, and will find a spa that values their clients. I would not recommend spending your hard earned money at a place like this. read more

My husband and I had just come back from our honeymoon for a SECOND wedding reception, this time on the East Coast. Unfortunately TAP lost our bags, so I was desperate for a pick-me-up. The staff at David Witchell's salon gave me just that. I went with my mother and sister in law to get our hair and makeup done before the reception. It's such an impressive operation here. They juggle so many customers simultaneously while remaining calm, professional, and conversational. First, Janine did my hair. She was so delightful and fashionable. If I ever had goals for my hair and general badassery, it would be her. My hair looked and felt fabulous, accentuating the perm I already had. I went back and forth about my veil, but Janine happily and patiently accommodated either way Liz did my makeup, answering all the random questions about makeup I threw at her because I wanted to learn. Even when she was done and I thought it was fine, she sagreed to touch up my eyebrows when I decided they weren't to my liking. Such a joy to work with. My sister in law brought mimosas for the two of us to sip throughout the process, and I completely forgot about our lost luggage and the stress of attending a second reception. Shopping for a long dress for a formal wedding. Natasha was so gifted in sizing me up and recommending trying on a dress I had walked past but not considered. Then earrings, then shoes; and it was all perfect together! With a background in architecture, I am extremely stylistically sensitive. THEN, Lena did just a few minor alterations (quickly, I might add) and it was all just really perfect. I could not have asked for a better experience. But, it is not inexpensive. This shop is a collection of unique home décor, art and funky talking pieces to make the guests you invite to your home envious and curious as to your personal style. This store starts off as a Barnes and Nobles, then becomes a high end Bath and Body Works, morphs into a William and Sonoma and then a Anthropologie with funky IKEA art work on the walls. Every nook and cranny of this place has something cool to sell and is the ultimate stop for any occasion gift. This shop must do very well during the holidays. Prices are steep, it cost me $24 for a tube of mint hand cream, gourmet spread and preserves are averaging $17 for a small bottle, and every book here, although unique seems to be around $19.99 or higher. Hit up their 50% off shelving next to the registers, I'd buy more from that stock. I really loved the silver metal 3D koi art on the back wall behind the registers. DO NOT BUY ONLINE FROM THESE GUYS! They have no idea how to run an online shop and their customer service is the worst!!!!! I placed an order online 8 days ago. My account was charged and I got a confirmation email. I was tracking my parcel and after a couple of days, I noticed that my item was not being shipped. I sent 2 emails (because there was no phone number on their website), and no replies. I finally found their number and called the store at least 3 times, left 3 messages, and sent multiple IG messages until the last time that I called and I insisted that I would hold rather than wait for a call back finally their store manager picked up the phone. I explained that it has been 7 days and my item has not been shipped and I need this item for an event. She said she would get back to me (which she didn't) . That night I got an email saying your order has been canceled. I called back this morning and the store manager (Natasha) said that their online store sent me several emails... which is a lie! I have checked all of my inboxes and spam folders and I do not have a single email from them. They have charged my account over $500 without sending the item and now they have canceled the order. I am calling my bank to make sure my money will be returned, and also have to figure out what do to with the fact that I am so close to my event with no proper outfit. read more

I'm from out of town and came here for the first time for a facial. I was really impressed! They followed safety precautions and the whole atmosphere was so nice and relaxing. The waiting area was also decorated really nice and cute for Christmas. Kelsey did my facial and she was very friendly and did a great job. I will be searching for a new hair salon. I have given this salon multiple chances but after today, I will not be coming back. Between my last experience where I was overcharged for a "haircut" (basically just a blow out) and today where I took off from work for my appointment, drove 40 minutes here, and then was turned away because they "didnt have me in for a haircut," I am done being inconvenienced. I came here after several friends told me what a great salon it is. I was really excited because it was my first visit to a salon since COVID. I asked for a cut and blonde highlights/balayage. She told me she would do caramel because she didn't want to damage my hair. However, I ended up with red/orange highlights. The stylist blamed my hair because it was so dark, which is interesting because I've had balayage and blonde highlights done on my hair before without any damage to my hair. Long story short, I was told I could have the red/orange color toned down or she could try to lighten it again, but it would cost me. Even though the color of my hair did not turn out caramel (and the manager agreed it was red/orange), nothing was done to satisfactorily remediate the issue. I would never go back or recommend this salon to anyone. They are unprofessional and not customer-oriented. I now have to go elsewhere to get my hair fixed. read more

I walked in 3 minutes before my appointment. After standing around for a couple of minutes - I was the only person waiting around. The guy at the desk asks - Can I help you and okay x will be with you, have a seat. No - "hi" no "she is running a bit late", just had a seat. I sat there for over 20 minutes and then walked out. If he had said - "sorry we are running a bit late could you wait?". No problem I would understand and I would happily waited. I walk out and 5 or so minutes later, he calls me to tell me that the stylist was ready. I said "well I left" and gave him my reason why. He said "okay sorry about that so are you coming back?" :-)). The guy seems to be more concerned about how chic he thinks he looks rather than protect his stylists and the owner's business. read more

I absolutely love my new haircut by Ashley, she gave me the long layered look that brought back such volume in my hair. Unfortunately this place is not going to be my go-to salon anymore. I've been going here for almost 3 years and was super impressed by the care and skill set of the stylists. The last few attempts I've been unable to schedule with my stylist of choice, which I blame on the people at the front desk. It's basically impossible to schedule anything. Because I've been unable to schedule with my preferred stylist, my last few appointments have been with mediocre "apprentices" or just a random stylist. My haircut (no color) costs $150 with tip. I add on multiple services to help my hair but I don't get the same, long lasting effects that I originally felt years ago. If you want to just buy something off the rack, have time and money to kill, and you are lucky enough to find someone to help you, it's fine. If you place a special order, the order may never get placed, you'll have to follow up incessantly for weeks, then when it comes in, they won't have anyone to hand it off to you, then it won't be what you originally ordered. I had an amazing facial in their Peddlers village location with NiNi. She pampers you as well as provides a great facial, cleansing and brightening. The spa is also very beautiful. My family has been coming here for 12 years, and we've always had Kristy as our hairdresser and we LOVE her. David Witchell has such a unique interior, with a ton of products, and a huge clothing selection. They offer a ton of different spa and hair services. Kristy has been wonderful and has always done an amazing job with all of our hair, and I love chatting with her for hours. She's so experienced and knowledgeable, I won't trust anyone else. Since I come in from out of town and only have a certain number of days, they always work with me to get me in! I always get my eyebrows done here and Casey is fabulous. Came here bc I had a gift card and decided to use it for a blowout, makeup and nails. I had a little bit of gray roots showing and asked the girl if she could cover them. That was a mistake. She mixed up the color and started applying it. From the second she put it on, I could tell the color looked red. I asked her why does it look red and she assured me that's just the way the dye looks and it won't make my hair red. The dye smelled awful, like ammonia, made my eyes water like crazy. They finally washed it off and I can see my roots are red. I was furious and told her my hair is red! You said it would be brown! She apologized, and said yeah I mixed the wrong color. Said she'd fix it, applied some other smelly concoction. Did it fix it and make it look like my natural hair color - no. I was furious. The front desk still made me pay $85 for turning my hair into Ronald McDonald. Customer service at this salon is nonexistent. Their policy is even if your stylist messed up your hair, we still charge you. I will never let this salon touch my hair, and if you're looking for a quality place that knows what they're doing and are customer forward, I'd stay away from here. So many other places w skilled artists and great service, and this place isn't one of them. read more

I've been going to David Witchell's for over 15 years. I have used them for hair and makeup and I honestly always walk out feeling like a celebrity. I've had great experiences with most of the stylists there. However, Ashley has become my absolute favorite. She listens to you, genuinely cares, and delivers. I have naturally very dark hair and she has transformed me into an icy blonde with dimension - exactly what I wanted. She does balayage so it still looks great even when it starts to grow out. She does a great cut too and added volume to my hair. She has also taught me how to take care of my blonde so that it will last. Oh and she's so sweet - I can't recommend Ashley enough! read more

Although I was a little nervous returning today with Covid-19 still an issue, I relaxed as soon as I got to the door and saw how much thought and consideration has clearly gone into safely reopening the salon. There was a thorough evaluation and sanitizing before entering the salon, well spaced stations, clear partitions between hair washing sinks and simplified check out. I have been getting so frustrated with my constantly breaking, frizzy, hair. My sister bought me a gift card for David Witchell salon to get a keratin treatment. I had one in the past (about 10 years ago) and liked the results, but never kept up with it because of the price and felt that it didn't last long enough to justify it. Last week I went in to use my gift card and get a new keratin treatment - yay! I was met with Brett who brought me to another area of the spa for the treatment. He was very friendly and professional. The whole experience took about an a hour and a half, which was about half as long as I was expecting. I tried to keep my hair straight, dry, and without any pony tails or kinks for 48 hours. I did work out twice in that time and my hair got a little sweaty, but I immediately blow dried and straightened it afterwards. I then showered and washed the treatment out with sulfate free shampoo. It's been about a week and so far the results are great. My hair air dries looking the way it usually looks after product, blow dyer, and straightener. It is awesome to be able to get out of the shower and not do a single thing to my hair and have it dry the way it normally does after styling. I can't speak to how long it will last, but maybe I will update when I notice that the treatment has faded. I highly recommend this salon! It is also very nice inside. read more

In addition to her skills, she consistently makes the experience the best because of her warm, friendly and most importantly funny personality. I also frequent the salon on a weekly basis to get blow outs. After having two children my hair is has become impossible to blow dry on my own and have it look normal. With a pretty crazy schedule, working full time and two small kids, I often call in 20 mins prior and they always have someone for available for the blow out service. My recent blow dry stylist favorites have been Cheri, essence and Brynn The spa is another place that outshines its competition. The facials, microdermabrasion and peels are excellent. Cally is a magic worker; she made my dull blotchy skin come back to life; she also helped with my daily home regime that made a significant positive impact on my skin. Lastly, one of the most important highlights is that David witchell staff are continuously involved in ongoing education from vendors and stylist to stay informed and skilled in current product and trends. Have had the most up and down experiences here. Was in-between hair stylists a year or so ago and went in to try Witchells - cannot remember the stylists name but she got my hair caught in the dryer. It hurt very much and she had to cut the dryer out - resulting in an awful haircut. She never really apologied either - just blamed it on the hair dryer? Went in for wedding day hair and make-up trials - loved my updo (I would recommend Ron to anyone) but disliked the make-up. The wedding is day time, and I left looking a big drag-ish. Not the right look for a day-time bride! Also not too crazy about how snotty everyone is in the salon. I've heard from everyone it is the best in Bucks County, but I just haven't gotten that treatment - besides the wedding up-do. read more

As a customer of the salon, spa, and the boutique for many years, I have never had a negative experience until this week. This review concerns the DJW Denim shop next door to the salon. Each piece of clothing is chosen carefully, indicative of all of the designers featured, which I consider a treat. The staff are sweethearts, always polite and helpful to make sure that you are happy with your purchase. What I don't find unique nor *attractive* is the attitude of one of the owners, and no, that is not David Witchell. So, I found a sweater on sale for $30. Once I tried it on, I noticed that there were at least four pulls on different areas of the delicate garment. I brought this to the attention of one of the employees, whom sympathized with me that it was such a shame for a lovely piece. When I began to ask if there was a way to have at least a few more dollars taken off due to its condition, the owner cut in and RUDELY addressed me that "that is a Helmut Lang, normally an X amount of dollar sweater. Otherwise, it would be regular priced." Then, she had the nerve to add, "our seamstress can take care of that for $10". Sorry, I can get this repaired for free. After carefully consideration, I bought the sweater, however, I found one more pull just as I was about to pay for it. I very nicely told the two employees who helped me, "For how delicate the sweater is, I would feel uncomfortable doing this myself and possibly ruin it." They apologetically told me that they could not take any money off, yet they disagreed with how the owner handled the situation. Of no fault of the two employees who helped me, I will no longer patronize any of DJW's clothing boutiques. To David Witchell: your partner should take a page from your book on what it is to be *and* act as a professional. If she truly wanted to put value on the items both of you sell and service, prove it. Apparently an apology and complimentary accommodation to the customer spending money at YOUR establishment is BEYOND her skill set. read more
