I'm sharing this review as a mother who invested thousands of dollars trying to ensure her daughter…read morereceived quality cosmetic dental care--only to be deeply disappointed by the outcome and then contacted by an attorney after voicing our experience. I'm writing this with caution and sincerity, as I believe consumers have the right to honest feedback and transparency, especially when it involves health care. My personal experience with Dr. Kakos and her team was frustrating and disheartening. After my daughter received dental implants, we trusted this office to handle the cosmetic restoration. What followed were multiple appointments filled with color mismatches, design issues, and blame placed on everything except the care provided--from my daughter's gum and tooth structure to previous orthodontic work, and even the implant surgeon's technique. None of these explanations changed the fact that the results simply did not look right. Despite staff repeatedly saying the teeth looked "beautiful," my daughter was left with gray-toned, short crowns that appeared unnatural. The only solutions offered were invasive and unnecessary, in my opinion, such as gum surgery or shaving down healthy teeth to compensate. This left us feeling stuck, pressured, and ultimately misled. Thankfully, we found another provider, Dr. Danyal at Berkley Dental, who corrected the work in under two hours. The difference was immediate and validating. It's important to note that after initially posting my experience, I was contacted by legal counsel representing Dr. Kakos. I was disheartened--but not surprised--that a professional response came in the form of legal threats rather than genuine concern for patient satisfaction. I believe in patients' rights to speak about their care without being silenced or intimidated. So here I am again, stating clearly and respectfully: based on my experience, I would not recommend this practice for advanced or cosmetic procedures. If you're considering more than a routine cleaning, I strongly suggest seeking a second opinion. This review reflects my own experience and opinion and is protected under federal and state consumer rights laws, including the First Amendment and the Consumer Review Fairness Act. I share it not with malice, but with a hope to inform and protect others.

White Lake Dental was once under the leadership of Dr. Bryan Thomas, DDS, a dedicated professional…read morewho prioritized his patients' dental health and financial well-being. However, since his retirement and the transition to new ownership under Dr. Fadi Abshara, the practice's approach has changed significantly--placing greater emphasis on revenue generation rather than patient-focused care. This shift became evident in our recent experience. My wife had previously received a bite guard under Dr. Thomas' care, with an understanding that replacements could be made for under $100 using the existing mold. However, under the new management, we were informed that this arrangement was no longer honored. Instead, we were told a new mold would be required, and a replacement bite guard would cost over $600. When we followed up with the staff, their response was disappointing. Rather than acknowledging the prior agreement, they insisted that we should opt for the more expensive option due to potential changes in her teeth. The interaction felt more like a sales pitch than genuine patient care. Beyond pricing changes, the overall atmosphere of the office has also shifted. Visiting Dr. Thomas was always a pleasant experience--his staff maintained a warm, welcoming environment. Unfortunately, that positivity seems to have faded, and the personal, supportive interactions that once defined White Lake Dental are now missing. Given the significant increase in costs and the more sales-driven approach, I strongly recommend exploring other dental practices before committing to White Lake Dental. Their pricing appears high compared to similar offices in the area, and transparency regarding changes in ownership and policy has been lacking. This practice is offering Starbucks gift cards for Google reviews. I posted a similar review on Google... let's see if they send a gift card.
