Original Review Reposted After Unfulfilled Refund Agreement and untruthful…read more I originally posted a review of this experience on March 18. I had agreed with the dentist to remove the review in exchange for a refund. Since I never received the promised refund, I am now reposting the review. Here it is: I am deeply disappointed with my recent experience at this dental office. I scheduled a tooth extraction after being told over the phone that my out-of-pocket cost would be $90 with insurance. Instead, I left with a $910 bill. The lack of financial transparency was extremely concerning. I was initially told that a bone graft would cost around $600, but during the procedure, that amount suddenly increased to $850--and I was required to pay immediately. What made the situation worse was the pressure I felt while still in the chair. The dentist pushed me to make an immediate decision between an implant or a bridge--both significant medical and financial choices that require time and proper explanation. I was also told that a bone graft was necessary right after the extraction, even though a bridge typically does not require one. When I questioned why these options and costs were not clearly explained beforehand, I was dismissively told, "We told you so," referring to information that had never been clearly communicated to me. At no point were the cost differences properly outlined. I also want to note that I never had any issues with the previous owner during my care, which makes this experience even more disappointing. At this point, I expect I may hear more explanations or even an apology, but that alone does not address the core issue of transparency and patient communication. Overall, I felt rushed, dismissed, and treated like just another number. Patients should never feel pressured into making major, permanent decisions on the spot. I would not recommend this office to anyone who values clear communication, transparency, and professional patient care.

I can't express enough how lucky I feel to have found this practice. 3 years ago my daughter had a tooth pulled with "zero pain". Last month I had my first cavity filled in 20 years. Wow, Dr Walby and his assistant whipped through that thing so quickly and seamlessly I wish I could have videoed it. Zero pain or discomfort. All done in about 20 minutes. I was waiting for there to be pain once my numbness wore off, but nope. In the past, I've had to go back to other dentists for them to correct the bite, but he did it perfectly right out of the gate. We're all impressed.

Dr. Boltwood on the other hand is absolutely fantastic. She's gentle, compassionate, meticulous and detailed - something I very much appreciate as someone who's experienced exactly the opposite with so many other area dental offices. But aside from doing really solid work, I've found her to be a very down to earth, genuinely nice person who's easy to talk to and who takes a sincere interest in her patients. Even though I (like most people) never LIKE going to the Dentist, I'm a lot more comfortable going to Dr. Boltwood than I've ever been going anywhere else - because I know she'll do a consistently great job, take very good care of me while I'm there, and will frequently follow-up afterward to make sure I'm still doing OK. Others in the office including her assistant Dawn, office manager Kathy, hygienists Annie, Beth and Dee Dee are all great as well and it's just an all-around good group of people. My wife is also a patient and has had the same great experiences. In short, we can't recommend Dr. Boltwood and the rest of her team highly enough.

This was probably one of the best dental experiences, and I didn't pay a fortune ! First, I was a little nervous, when I arrived, due to the fact the waiting room and office area were a little outdated. (I had been going to a dentist in Bloomfield Hills that was very high-tech, but I was paying a fortune!)The receptionist was very welcoming and friendly and upon conversing with her, she noted that the facility was going through renovations soon- felt more at ease. The hygienist was very thorough and kept making sure that I was comfortable during that lovely probing. My dental exam from this dentist was great. She examined all the X-rays with me and gave me some suggestions, so that a very minor tooth issue would not get worse. The best... They didn't make you feel like a horrible person, when you admit that you don't floss daily.

He did a thorough exam and Xrays and concluded the implant would work instead of pulling more teeth and having a bridge. The dentist suggested that I go out to a endodontist to get a second opinion on my teeth before we started my treatment plan. That endodontist took almost 2 months before I could see them. I went there to the referral appointment . Called back to Oakridge to make my appointment and she said they no longer take my insurance all of a sudden. She was very sarcastic with no apology. The office staff never really made me feel welcome there . Why dental offices do this to people is absolutely ridiculous to make someone feel less than because of insurance. This situation was absolutely unacceptable.

I needed a couple of extractions and Dr Yaldo said he would have one of the other dentists come in and do them. I was skeptical when this petite female dentist came in, I questioned her strength based on a prior dentist who had a hard time getting a tooth out. Dr Yaldo was confident she could handle everything and said if I got uncomfortable during the process he would finish. I am not the type of person who thinks a woman can't do the job but she was very petite and said, "it's all in the technique!" She was right! I had been in excruciating pain, nausea and vomiting prior to the appointment. The next day I had hardly any discomfort after having 3 extractions. She was awesome and I am sorry I didn't get her name. Going back for crowns and a few other things but very pleased. I absolutely recommend this dental practice. Two cone-beam X-rays -7 months apart- confirmed the suspicion that my ill-advised root canal (recommended by another dentist) was infected. Purpose of today's appointment was extraction of that root canal tooth and bone graft in preparation for ceramic implant placement. Every person in Dr. Anderson's office was professional and kind. They worked together to ensure my comfort and well-being. My extraction was completed in the most efficient and supportive manner, using best practices to ensure good healing ( my own platelets and ozone). Dr Anderson's team is remarkable as evidenced by the manner they cooperated to take care of me. I was grateful that the doctor narrated each step of the process, which helped me to feel calm. I chose oral sedation and - after the procedure was finished and my husband briefed on after care - Janet walked me out to the car. Dr. Anderson called at end of the day to check up on me.
