This Dr is The WORST Dr I have EVER seen. I wish I did not have to do a review like this, but please beware. How can you screw up a colonoscopy and endoscopy? Originally I thought Dr Van Thiel was the best Dr that I had ever come across and I went to him faithfully every saturday morning which worked great as it did not interrupt with work and I recommended him to a friend.  He told my friend that he needed to do a Colonoscopy and endoscopy.  Pretty normal you would think.  Not in this case!  My friend thought he was going to die.  He had so much pain with all the rubberbands that the Dr put in his esophagus that he was literally screaming in pain for over a week.  I thought my friend was being ridiculous and I called him a baby, and I was really embarrassed in front of the Dr.  Two months later I was told to schedule a Colonoscopy and Endoscopy for myself.  Dont you know the exact same thing happened to me?  My sister ran into the operating room because I was screaming so loud when I woke up.  The Dr said there were nine Rubber Bands in my esophagus. This pain was excruciating and lasted for two weeks.  I went to my follow up with my sister and the Dr told us I would have to do this three more times in a year.  He showed us all the dark spots on my Xrays and claimed that I had a VERY UNHEALTHY colon, but when I went to get a 2nd opinion at a different Dr,  I took my Colon x rays to a REAL dr at the hospital that I currently go to and the dr at that hospital told me there is absolutely NOTHING WRONG WITH my colon. All the spots that Dr VanThiel was showing my sister and I were shadows in the X Rays and that I have a completely HEALTHY colon, Van Thiel also told me that I have the onset of Hepatitis, which would be impossible, unless it was autoimmune, but that was another lie. I guess you can think of what I told him.   Who does that?  Why do that?  He is an actual QUACK.  I told my friend how sorry I was that I recommended him, and I truly was.  That Dr. made me trust him and also wanted me to bring other friends to come see him.  Occasionally I get a call from a collection company and I tell them they will NEVER rcv a penny from me ever again.  It is not about the money, it is about the TRUST that I put into that Dr every single weekend for a long time.  He wronged me and I will never forget it. In fact this happened years ago, and I have kidney stone issues now that I have to have surgery for, and the Dr that is doing the surgery has heard of Dr Van Thiel and said that he mysteriously left in a hurry   The Nurse agreed with me that he is a quack, and she has seen many things that have happened over the years with that Dr, and she said that a few times he just up and disappeared from his practice, and the people that work for him would have NO Idea where he went, the doors would just be locked.  I never sued, because like i said it isnt about money.  But I have fear that he continues to practice and hurt others, I remember how crowded his waiting room would be, and it actually scares me that he is still in Berwyn practicing on innocents.  His wife is a whole other story and she is SO RUDE and so mean.  She would yell at people in the waiting room that were in a lot of pain, she would call and BARK ORDERS to me on the phone, she would actually yell and say how amazing her husband is and act as if he is a GOD.  He is not a GOD, and he does not care about his patients, if you dig deep you can find out alot.  I plan on posting this same review wherever it will be allowed for me to post.  It is not to hurt the Dr or his wife.  It is to help the innocent people that are sitting in that waiting room.  I don't want them to be lied to and hurt the way my friend and myself were hurt and lied to. It is serious, and by all means try to go to see this dr,  but I am giving you the MOST Honest review from my mouth to GODs ears.  I understand that this is a horribly long review, but I want you to have all the facts of my experience, and there is actually more, but I will save for another time.  STAY HEALTHY PLEASE if at all possible read more
