I am deeply concerned and dissatisfied with the treatment my 6-year-old daughter received from this dermatologist. She was prescribed Fluorouracil 5% cream for her buttocks, a medication typically used to treat pre-cancerous skin lesions and skin cancer in adults. This medication caused severe burning and irritation to her delicate skin on her buttocks-- something that should have been entirely predictable given her age and the potency of this drug. I cannot understand how a medication intended for serious adult skin conditions was given to a child without clearer warning or proper alternatives being considered. It was incredibly distressing to see my child in pain and not even been able to sit because her bottom was completely raw from something that should have been avoidable with more responsible and informed care. As a parent, I expected much more caution and professionalism. I would strongly advise other parents to NOT TAKE THERE CHILD HERE! There is a reason why the score on his reviews are so low. He does not care about his patients. I came to his office for a trouble that keeps on coming back and he does not want to listen to what the patient say. I try to explain my symptoms and he cut me off. The only reason why I stayed calm was because I needed a/or any prescription that could help me ASAP while I was waiting on an appointment with other dermatologist. EVEN THE NURSE who works at his office told me that I should go somewhere else. He is not a good doctor. Trust the bad reviews if you could avoid coming to this office, do it. I've been to Dr Grice several times. I refuse to go back. He doesn't take the time that he should for the amount of money he charges. Also, you have to go back several times for different procedures(why)?? Surgery day to do A 5 minute prodedure that could and should be done with 1 visit, but he wants you to come multiple times so he can over charge insurance company's. I don't care to drive to his office 2-3 times to have a 5 minute procedure done. He is rude, and his manner is unprofessional. More people should walk away from his practice. After the many visits with Dr. Grice, I've always left feeling rushed and not actually taken care of the way a doctor should make you feel. I went in for a skin condition and he didn't listen to my concerns, but instead sent a prescription to the pharmacy. The medicine didn't work so he ups the dosage, when that doesn't help I was the one who said forget it. Later I went for a mole removal and once again he didn't listen to my concerns or reasoning for the removal, so he rushed through that and I have bad scarring on my hand after he said "this technique does not scar badly, if at all." He has not offered any scar treatments to help, just to continue cutting it away until it stops returning. NOT appropriate. Overall, I'm not happy with this dermatologist and will not be returning. read more

I went to Dr.Grice for a growth on my face. He did a biopsy and it came back as skin cancer. His staff was very nice but he was so rude! When I went back to have the skin cancer treated , he barely spoke to me. After he finished and he was walking out of the room, I said I have a question. He began this diatribe about this was surgery day and he didn't have time to answer any questions. He said I would need to make another appointment to address my question. I went to see Dr. Grice for a yeast infection under my breasts. It was raw and oozy. He walked into the room with me and didn't tell me to sit down or to lie down, just asked to see the problem. He quickly sprayed me with liquid nitrogen, the coldest substance known to man, with me still standing up holding my purse and gasping for breath. It is called burning with cold. Then he said for me to come to the desk when I could. He saw that I could hardly breathe. I suffered for hours and it did no good at all, only caused more pain. I needed a powder or an ointment. I have gone to see the PA Joesph as my husband has as well. I saw Dr Griece one time and thought that he was rude, arrogant and unhelpful! Since we always saw Joesph we have been patients at this clinic for 7 years. My husband made an appointment and was told that Joesph was. I longer there and he would have to see Dr Griece. My husband has a mole next to his eye that is growing and disturbing his vision. The Dr walked in the door, asked him what he wanted and told him it wasn't anything and turned around to leave. My husband stopped him with his concerns and the Dr was rude and spent 2-3 more minutes with him and left doing nothing about the mole. I would have given Joesph a 5, but without him I can only recommend that you find another Dermatologist which is what we are doing! read more

I've been a patient of Dr. Grice for several years now and have had no problems whatsoever. He always listens to me and explains my treatment options thoroughly before asking for my approval. He was rude, showed no compassion, and belittled me. If I can pick 0 star, I would. Like any oral medication, he refused to understand that not all products works for everyone. TGel was just really harsh on my hair instead he belittled me on how I may have incorrectly washed my hair with the medicated shampoos. He didn't even look at scalp to see if my "own" diagnosis was correct or if something else was going on. Very disappointed and will not be going back for any follow ups. I have been seeing Dr. David Grice and Joseph for several years. I have never had a problem with Dr. Grice or Joseph until my husband went to see them for a mole on his right ear. Dr. Grice "froze" it and said it should fall off within a few days. After several weeks it did not fall off and my husband went back and saw Joseph. Joseph took a sample of the mole and sent it off to the lab. The next day we received a call from Joseph that the mole was stage 4 melanoma and he sent my husband to a plastic surgeon for removal of the mole and lymph nodes. Praise God the plastic surgeon got all the melanoma and my husband is doing fine. Because Dr. Grice did not diagnose the melanoma when he first "froze" it, my husband will not be going back to see him. My husband has gone back to see Joseph as required until recently and because of the rudeness and incompetence of the office staff he refuses to even go back to see Joseph. We have had difficulty dealing with the office staff on many occasions. We are lucky enough to have two insurances and we don't have to pay a copay. Each time we finish our visit with either Dr. Grice or Joseph they insist on collecting a copayment and we have to remind them we have two insurances. When we call to make an appointment they are very rude and say we have to have a referral from our primary doctor. That should be their job to get the referral, not ours. We made our appointments in plenty of time for them to get the referral. Today I had a terrible experience with the office staff and Joseph. I called in a prescription one week ago and was told the doctor's office had to get prior approval for my prescription. I called twice yesterday to Dr. Grice's office to find out the status of the prior approval and was told they were busy with patients and would have to call me back. I never heard back from them so I called this morning. I was told they were busy with patients and would call me back. I insisted on holding until I could talk to Joseph. I was placed on hold for over 20 minutes and when the office staff came back on line I was told they would have to call me back later after seeing patients. I told them I am a patient waiting for a prescription for a week and I wanted to talk to Joseph. I was placed on hold for another 10+ minutes and another woman came on the line. She said she was told to answer the call and didn't know what was going on but just to answer the call. I tried to explain to her what I was waiting for but she would not stop talking. I finally told her to "shut up so I could tell her what I was waiting for". She put me on hold and I waited another 10 minutes and Joseph finally came on line. I tried explaining to him the situation and all he was concerned about was my telling his staff to shut up. I told him I called twice yesterday and he said there was no message on my file that I called. He then told me that they were waiting for my insurance company to respond to the request for a prior approval. I asked why the person, Chris, that I left two messages with yesterday didn't tell me that. He said there was no record of my phone calls yesterday and they were busy with patients and could not just stop and answer me. I finally said to forget the prescription and I fired Joseph. I really hate firing Joseph because I liked him but I cannot continue to go to a doctor that the staff is rude and incompetent. This was one of the worst doctors that I have come across. Beware! I first called his office to set an appointment for a skin check. I ask the procedure and was told that I would be ask to remove my clothing and put on a gown. So, before I went I also googled what a dermatologist should do. In-fact, that is what they should do to check your skin thoroughly. I just had a friend of the family die at age 39 of melanoma and I had a couple of places that concerned me. When I wen tin for my appointment, I was not ask to undress. I was escorted to a bench. The doctor then came in and said "what ya got"? I was thinking I don't know, aren't you suppose to check? But, I held my hand out to show him one spot that I was concerned about. He acted like he was very rushed and did not have time to see me! "It's nothing, what else", it stunned me at his attitude! Very blunt and rude. I said well and showed him my other concern on my hip, that I had to turn around and pull my pants to show him..."ok, schedule an appointment to remove it.". That was it! No other skin check, his hand was practically on the door the whole time! I was charged $175.00 for this?! I got home and called his office acting as if I was another patient, inquiring what a skin check entailed and was told that yes you put on a gown and he checks your body! "Well I did not get that" I said. I never went back and I had to file a complaint with my insurance company. I had to go to another dermatologist the next week to do what he did not do. He even disputes what I am saying, stating that he did do a skin check! I have since received a bill from his office too! I have now filed a complaint with the Texas Medical Board. What a horrible doctor this is. I would never trust him as a doctor. read more

If you or your child needs a dermatologist, avoid Dr. Grice. He is rude and condescending, which is actually pretty impressive to convey during the entire two minutes he deems to run in to sit down and listen to your concerns. In addition, if you are told there won't be a copay for a follow up, this will not be true. I also noticed after I left that the samples of medication I was given expired in April (it's August). There are many other dermatologists in North Texas and I highly recommend one who does not treat his patients as if they are stupider than cattle and then provide slipshod diagnoses and medication. read more

Dr. Grice is a CREEP! As a new patient I walked in and proceeded to the sign-in window. The woman sitting in front of the window looked at me several times and never even acknowledged that I was there. Finally said I have a 4:00 appointment and tried handing her my paper work I had filled out before coming in. She very angrily said I'll be with you when I can. After about a 20 minute wait a woman pops out and asks me to come back. She was semi-friendly so I felt a little better as she asked me several questions before leaving the exam room. About 15 minutes later a male assistant walks in and is very friendly and explains he'll ask some questions and he examined me briefly without disrobing even after I told him my melanoma was all over my body. As nice as he was the exam was rushed and very brief and he said the doctor would be in shortly. The doctor finally walks in right past me without even saying hello or intruding himself. This Grice guy takes the prize of any doctor I've ever experienced as the most rude and hostile and the worst bedside manner I've experienced in my 56 years. He never examined me, would not listen to any of my history or previous diagnosis and said he'll decide what my condition is. Talk about a god complex!!! Then he told me to come back for tests. As I approached the desk to pay my co-pay and set up another appointment, the same woman who was so obnoxious was even worse this time.
