You decide.....Dr Surdyka was recommended by KDDH ER after I fell and broke my wrist on April 13, 2016. Hospital set it and recommended follow-up and Dr Surdyka's name was on the paperwork. Called next day (Thurs) and could not get in until Tues. Went in w/a friend - after he looked at x-ray said it was 10% off. I did not want surgery and was assured that 10% would not be much at all. I said great - After EOS brace placed on my nurse; he was holding my arm and molding the brace on - when he pushed/squeezed hard in the wrist area. I screamed - and he said, "Sorry, trying to get it one more percent." Then a few min later he takes my fingers on this same hand and pushes them down trying to make a fist, telling me I will need to make a fist. I screamed and he says what? I tell him that my finger must be sprained cause that hurt (turns out I have arthritis in the finger joint, as well as carpal tunnel after my fall). This was the only pain I had after the brace was put on. I leave getting an appt 5 weeks later. I go back and after he looks at the x-ray tells me, unfortunately it has slipped to 30% off now and says "unfortunately that happens." "Did you take the brace off at all?" To that I said definitely not. Now the only thing to do is surgery and have to re-break the bone. NEVER ONCE did he tell me that there was any possibility of it slipping (I had a friend w/me) - yet he tells me at my 5 week appt that unfortunately this happens? I have since gone to Sierra Pacific in Fresno, and due to me not having any real pain except (stiffness/aching/limited mobility) they are opting to leave it the way it is. I have more physical therapy scheduled. read more
