I am a former patient of this once beloved physician. Dr. Mysko was referred to me by a longtime family friend with whom was a patient for 30 some years. I thought I had found the perfect physician in Dr. Mysko who reminded me of an old time country doctor. Unfortunately this perfection didn't last very long. I experienced numerous billing errors with my insurance co-pays, duplicate insurance claims and difficulty making appointments with his gossipy and snippy receptionist. . I must add that the doctors RN, Ris, was very knowledgeable, kind and professional, she went out of her way to accommodate my medical needs. In my opinion, Dr. Mysko failed to provide me with the medical care I needed but had no problems billing my insurance company for procedures I do not need. He also prescribed medications to me that I later found out that not only did I not need but the medications caused me some nasty side effects that I wasn't expecting. I had been having trouble sleeping and my insurance company referred me to another medical specialist. That specialist tried numerical times to confer with Dr. Mysko by phone and email yet got no response. I reminded Dr. Mysko quite a few times to no avail Later in my tenure with this doctor he agreed that my medical condition warranted being placed on long term disability and had his nurse give me some paperwork to complete which I did and submitted to the state of California who in turn contacted Dr. Mysko for my medical records and his recommendation. To my surprise Dr. Mysko never completed the required medical information even after many, many letters and phone calls from the state and me. Consequently the claim was denied which put me in a financial situation for five months time until I finally was able to relocate with family members yet never have been able to work again. It's my opinion that this physician has made so many false promises to me that I'm unable to recommend him and his services to anyone. Perhaps it's his time to retire and live off the profits of his many braggadocio real estate holdings including the building his practice is in. read more

I would echo those who have rated Dr. Mysko with 4 stars and above. Santa Clarita has plenty of Doctors and its always hard to choose the "right" one for you, so that's why I stuck with urgent care visits for yearly physicals. But, I decided to settle down and start a medical history with one doctor because I felt that it would benefit me in the long run. Well, I don't regret it. Dr. Mysko was very thorough, gave me advice on my current state of health and on how to improve too. He was very patient and he had an excellent bedside manner. I left there feeling reassured that I had chosen wisely. So, this is my second year seeing his staff for blood work and my physical. I couldn't recommend him more. read more

The 5-star rating is for Dr. Mysko only. He was our family physician for 42 years. He took care of our children as well as my husband who fought cancer for 7 years. He was without a doubt the best family doctor we could have ever asked for. He was extremely knowledgeable, kept up to date on new medical services, had a wonderful bedside manner, took his time and always resolved whatever the issue was. He recently sold his practice and I'm told will be retiring in the near future. I will miss him dearly and don't expect to find another physician who will come close to him in all respects. Now, having said all that, I'm sorry to say that since he sold his practice and is only there on Fridays, the office has gone downhill. I recently had a bad foot/ankle sprain. I had 2 sets of x-rays taken and saw the PA at Dr. Mysko's. That was 3 weeks ago and I still don't know if my x-rays have been read or what treatment I may need. I have called the office twice to find out what's going on and as of today have still heard nothing. My foot/ankle are still swollen & sore and I'm concerned I may have a hairline fracture but I won't know that until I'm assured that my x-rays have been read. I'm hoping things will improve at the office. Otherwise I will be looking for another primary care physician :( Judy Jones read more

Dr. Mysko has been my physician since I moved here in 1978. I see him for my annual (well, sometimes I tend to put it off a year) physicals which are extremely thorough and include a discussion of ways to maintain or improve my health. The conversations are never rushed and on my last visit he went into detail an efficient way for me to lose weight to lower my triglycerides and avoid a medication treatment which I preferred. Now its up to me to carry through and see the results from the next per-scheduled lab results. When I shattered my femur in a body surfing accident in Mexico about 20 years ago, Dr. Mysko met me when I arrived back in the States and immediately got me admitted into the hospital and engaged one of the best orthopedic surgeons to repair the damage. He had to come out to the vehicle I was in as I was in a temporary cast.... this was on a Saturday evening. This clearly demonstrates his concern and professionalism, as he could easily just admitted me and seen me the following day. read more

Well, one of the worst experiences of my life. I went there because I wanted a consultation about my leg veins. First the receptionist said they won't take my insurance. Then I offered to pay cash. After so much time wrangling and it appeared they just wanted me to go away, they finally took me to an exam room. I sat there for over a half hour while the doctor and others were having a casual conversation in the other room. No hurry. Finally the doctor came in and looked at my legs. Told the nurse to take pictures on her cell phone. Then she said they were waiting for a new machine and would contact me when it came in. A month went by. I called several times for months and no the machine wasn't in yet. Well, its been over six years and they never called me. I don't know if they didn't like my looks (I am far from ugly) or they were just nasty people. I have never been treated like that in my life! Horrible! read more

Excellent Physician - Rude Billing Staff I had a physical on 1/29/15 as a new patient. I called the Dr.'s office and my insurance to make sure it was covered by my insurance. My plan covers yearly physicals 100%. Dr. Mysko was the first male physician I have ever been to and was nervous. After my visit I was more than pleased that I chose his office. You can tell he really cares about his patients. The office staff and assistants were amazing too. They called my insurance when I arrived and double-checked that the visit was covered 100%. When I left they congratulated me for taking time to do a physical and confirmed that I owe nothing since the physical was covered. This review would have been 5 stars at that moment. On 2/27/15 I received a bill from Dr. Mysko's office for $217.33 applying my balance to my deductible. I called my insurance and found out this was billed as a diagnostic visit not a physical. I called Dr. Mysko's office and spoke with Denise in the billing department. When I explained that this was billed as a diagnostic office visit instead of a physical she immediately became defensive and said "Well we get the codes from the doctor and he obviously did not do a physical." I was taken back and explained the situation and asked her if she can speak with the doctor and look at the records to confirm that this was indeed a physical. She replied with, "well he is not in today so I will have to ask him tomorrow when he is in. You can call me if you if you don't believe me." I said I believe you and we ended our call. I was hoping she was just having a bad day, but am still turned off by her attitude. On 3/13/15 - I received another bill from Dr. Mysko's office with a note that reads "Your insurance has applied this to your deductible and is Past Due!" I called my insurance and no one has contacted them or rebelled. I called the Dr.'s office and I went over my situation again and referenced our last call. Denise said "I don't have any notes that you called, and this is obviously applied to your deductible and it is now past due. How do you want to make a payment?" I called my insurance company again and complained about Denise in the billing office and asked for help. They stated they would reach out to the Doctors office for me since Denise is non responsive and dismissive of the situation. On 3/31/15 I received another bill. I called the doctors office on 4/14/15 and Denise was not there so the receptionist said she would leave a message on Denis's desk to call me back in regards to submitting a corrected claim. I never received a call back, to this date. Since then the doctors office resubmitted the claim with no changes. It was denied as a duplicate. The insurance reached out to Denise again and was able to get a corrected claim resubmitted but not with the proper "corrected claim" info checked off. The insurance denied this third attempt saying, "This appears to be a corrected claim, we will contact the provider directly. You do not need to take any action." Today I received another bill today dated 7/31/15, only this time there are now several $2.50 monthly charges dating back to May. I called my insurance again. They are attempting to call the Doctors office AGAIN but had to leave a voice mail. It's unfortunate that such a great Doctor has to lose a patient over a simple error simply because he has an arrogant, rude and accusatory billing rep. It's no wonder so many people avoid getting physicals. It too much of a hassle, when someone in billing makes a simple mistake. I still hold by my high opinion of Dr. Mysko, but will let anyone inquiring about doctors know that they want to avoid this office because his billing staff can't fix a mistake. read more

My name is Ryan C. I want to thank Dr. Mysko and the entire staff i.e. Christina and Rizz :) for their patience and kindness they have extended me for the last decade or so since I have been a patient. I was not the easiest patient to deal with for many of those years to put it lightly, but they saw through all that and had the utmost tolerance of my behavior and always encouraged me to never give up. Dr. Mysko was very thorough with all my appointments and never made me feel rushed, in fact, @my annual physical exam in January, he spent a great deal of time with me and in a loving but firm way, expressed his concerns with my extreme obesity and how, in the long run, it would severely affect my surgically repaired knee and spinal stenosis. After that appointment, the "light" finally came on and the next day I slowly began a "lifestyle change" (NOT a diet) and with perseverance and determination, I've lost over 60 pounds and had recent bloodwork done and all my levels are lower. Dr. Mysko is one of the best doctors out there. He really takes his time with patients, doesn't rush appointments, doesn't take short cuts, and does a very thorough assessment of whatever the issue is. He also takes at least 45 minutes for his physicals, again, because he checks EVERYTHING and is very thorough. His nurse and receptionist are wonderful. He is very friendly and knowledagle. In addition, he is constantly keeping up with new research and evidence in his practice. There is plenty of parking in the back and I am usually able to schedule appointments farily quickly, sometimes within the same day, latest within a few days that same week. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Mysko for about 10 years. He is very thorough, knowledgeable, and compassionate. He takes as much time as is needed while with me, which is a quality that I find very rare in a physician. His staff has always been pretty great,too.
