Nail pops were emerging and my husband has an annoying habit of picking the paint off nail pops as if picking a scab. Anyway something needed to be done, and thankfully hubs agreed for me to bring in an expert. That expert was Keith Wood and his crew at Preferred Paint & Contracting. Good price (trust me, you don't want the best price because you get what you pay for) and quick, efficient and thorough service. The walls look fantastic and there was virtually nothing on my walkthrough that I had to have them do again. I would recommend them highly and his workers were very sweet and friendly. They were very careful with our belongings and helped us get the house back in place perfectly. Now we have a nice respectable clean house with a lovely terra cotta accent wall in my reading nook even if the males in the house don't like it! :) Only word of advice: I bought my paint a couple months before they came and used it during a Sherwin Williams sale and the paint I bought was cheaper than their price when we were a gallon or two short, so just watch for coupons and pre-buy your paint.

His response was 30k so I asked he email me it as we discussed to confirm the size and design and again he said I don't do that and if you want to move forward we can get more detailed. I asked him directly " am I detecting an attitude in your responses as my desire is to make sure we are on the same page. If I can't get the estimating person to provide a basic estimate to build off with out a tone that I should just agree and hand him my cash is unacceptable. A basic estimate would have taken him maybe 15 minutes and would lay out timelines, payment schedule and clarification on what the 30k provides is not to much to expect. Under no conditions would I agree to any work where I get a fraction of my desires addressed / confirmed understanding and then be spoken to like "agree to us doing it then we can address your questions with a condescending tone. I thanked him and walked him to his vehicle. I called the office and explained my dissatisfaction and refuse to use a company that the sales person can not keep his frustration in check and forgot I am the one paying for the project and not some guy on the street that was interfering with his day. Attitude and respect sets the stage and if providing a quote is an annoyance, then don't advertise a free quote (perhaps the old saying you you get what you pay for is true, I paid noting and got my money's worth). This is the first time we seriously considered terminating a contractor mid-project. Communication was consistently poor, the project schedule and material ordering were severely mismanaged, and the crew showed up only six days over an almost two month period in the summer when the majority of work should have been completed, contributing to turning what should have been a three month job into a six month project. Job-site cleanup was not maintained, significant errors were made, and there was resistance and defensiveness when those mistakes needed to be corrected. Rather than taking accountability, the company disputed issues that were clearly the result of their own lack of oversight and execution. Overall, the level of service, organization, and workmanship fell far below what we've experienced with other contractors and what you would expect at this price point.

Fast forward to 1.5 yrs later and the flooring is buckling, cracking and we have been told by laying the LVP over the existing floor- it voided our warranty. This was not a frivolous expense and we feel like we were lied to in the initial evaluation. Yes, it is in our contract and shame on us for not paying closer attention to that- please learn from our mistakes- don't take Carlos word for anything- Read your contract and have them remove the old flooring prior to placing your LVP.
