You are right I am not a expert in heating and cooling that is not my profession. I hired another company turns out there was a leak in the fiberglass tape that caused the issue. Ron's heating blamed the builders saying not enough insulation or etc. Well you're wrong. You guys come to my house for 10 minutes . Yes it's on camera you can say different but it shows when you stepped in the doors and drove off. Total 12 minutes. You guys want to charge me a diagnostic fee FOR WHAT? You guys didn't diagnostic the issue another company did within 30 minutes. Get a second opinion before hiring this company because they are a one sided company and that side only Benefits them. I have my newborn room with improper heat coming into the room. It's 61 degrees when the house is set to 70 degrees and they blame the builders when it was due to their issue that they didn't even diagnose another company did. JOKE of a company. I tried paying the diagnostic fee that I honestly shouldn't because they rushed and didn't even spend the time to figure out the cause. They wanted to charge me a 3% fee for a debit card. Then they tried to charging me for a visit the the prior owner did and never collected on me. The owner wife was trying to pull a fast one on me then said ohh sorry I didn't realize it was a different name. Luckily I asked my total before providing my debit card number

    Stay away from this business! My entire cooling and heating system was left in an inoperable state…read more I called for a diagnostic of the air conditioner today because cool air isn't coming from the vents. I was told the diagnostic would cost $149. I asked to be informed of any repairs that had to be done. Technician checked the system and recommended replacing unit. We discussed replacement unit and cost. I was ready to pay deposit. In the next 10 minutes I was told that the model I selected is old and not available. New model costs $1000 more. I asked for a proposal to decide later. Technician told me that the visit costs $396. He said that he fixed air conditioner that was not working. He never told me that he is fixing anything. Through our the visit it looked like he was figuring out the problem. I talked to the owner and we agreed that any repairs that were done will be undone so that I do not have to pay for repairs. Then the technician removed all the wires from the board making both heat and fan unusable. He did not just undo the "repairs", but made entire system unusable including fan and heat which were working before his visit. See the photos to show what was done!

My husband & I have better things to do than having an "agenda" as Harmonic accused. My husband was on a business trip. 3. I never called for an emergency repair. I did not switch from repair to cleaning & maintenance. I asked A. if C & M was possible afterward, unaware of 2 more with no heat. Harmonic called me "selfish" for this. 4. Any possibility A. and K. have unconscious biases towards people like me? They accused us of "manipulating" what? To save a few hundred bucks, while we spent in the tens of thousands at Harmonic's better former (aquired) company) you imagined up? 5. How could Harmonic accuse me of lying about my pain. Because I was able to and had to carry my 10 lb dog for a short moment because of her barkin? Why do I even have to explain my chronic severe back pain and mostly failed back surgeries and weak immune system? 6. I had no "agenda," but getting my heate fixed. I am not playing any "game" as accused. I am standing up for myself. 7. K.'s statistics on the number of my Goole reviews are false. 8. A. & K. are the ones who were "aggressive, harsh, unethical, disrespectful, and manipulative." Stop projecting and gaslighting. I wish I would remember to record conversations when I am alone with a person like A. Why did K pull down his absurd replies on Google?

I had a request from them to do an annual checkup. Since I knew them I scheduled this service. Turns out it was actually another company that was using their name. Another big company that is all about upselling and NOT local. I will avoid in the future.

    Fast HONEST service!…read more Our furnace started making noises as we came out of the -30F Polar Vortex. Since we had a good experience with a humidifier repair a while back, we decided to give Hampshire Heating and Cooling another call. They came out on Monday afternoon, and everything seemed to check out OK. Bob, the tech, said that sometimes these things could be intermittent, but that they would come back if the problem happened again. Today the furnace was making the noise again. I made a quick video and sent it to them. When my wife came home at about 3PM, the furnace was making a loud buzzing sound, but was not putting out any heat. I called Hampshire Heating again, and they had Bob call me back to say he'd be out around 5:30. Bob found the problem quickly; we needed a new blower motor. Fortunately he came prepared with the proper part. He finished the repair, and was able to get us up and running quickly. Since he'd been out the day before, there was no additional trip charge. The cost of the blower motor was actually a bit less than we expected. We are very pleased that they could come out quickly, and get the unit fixed so we did not have to go a night without heat. We will definitely use them for our future HVAC needs.

    This is my first review, EVER: (Once upon a time we had the Yellow Pages to help us find reputable…read moreservices....Uncle Ted provided reviews!) DeKalb Mechanical has serviced my furnace 3 times in the 6 years since I've owned my home, and this week assisted in a chimney replacement. I chose DeKalb Mechanical because the brand new furnace had been installed by them before my purchase. Andy & Charles have always listened patiently to my frantic description of the problem and sent repair technicians within the day. The techs are consistently courteous and knowledgeable and pretty good about cleaning up after themselves.. The final charge always seems high to me - they're probably competitive - I'm "old", living on a fixed income, and think any service costing more than $200 is too much! I've been particularly crabby these last two weeks when I finally established that my various furnace issues have most likely been related to a roof leak adjacent to the chimney. (Had the roof repaired in 2019!) The first estimate blamed the flashing, and bid $2000 for the flashing and a plywood/shingles replacement. A second estimate with a different roofer found NO issues with the flashing but said there was no cap - estimated charges $400. (I liked the 2nd bid better, but even I could see the flashing was rusted out.) Finally, the first contractor proposed replacing the brick chimney & flashing with a B-vent, requiring the coordinated assistance of my HVAC people - the best estimate was 2 grand for the roofer and not more than $1000 for the furnace folks. My final charges:$2850. I was fuming when I completed the review - assigning only 2 stars. (I've spent thousands of $ on roof repair and furnace servicing and the leak was probably present before I bought the home!) But that is NOT THEIR FAULT!! Before the ink could dry on my review Nathan, DeK Mech's man that oversaw the project, was at my door to find out what he (they) did wrong! Nothing. They did nothing wrong. They did it ALL RIGHT. Arrived an hour before originally scheduled, performed their work efficently and worked as a team with the roofers. I'll be calling DeKalb Mechanical this fall before I start the furnace for the season. Keeping my fingers crossed!
