However last week our Cat Bella had to go there numerous times as she was unwell and not getting any better even with antibiotics etc! It took a week to do and get her blood test results and by then it was friday evening and we were told that she will need to go to see a specialist which they would refer her to for more tests/scans. The specialist is a good hours drive from us and as Bella is soo freaked out being in a car and as she had been to the vets several times in a week and that was also stressing her out we thought there must be someone a bit closer to home that we could try that had more diagnostics before having to take her all that way. So on the monday when she was still no better we decided to take her to Roehampton Vets to be checked over there as they are orthopedic specialists and as Rory had said she has a back problem/pain, but also they do endoscopies as she had been very unwell vomiting etc so thought that would be a good place to take her to see if they could perhaps diagnose/treat her and then if not then we would take her to the specialist outside London! Also it was Rory himself who had recommended Roehampton Vets to us in the past for our other cat who had a fractured leg and they had done a a good job fixing it. Anyway I called Rory at Westside Vets just now to make her a follow up appointment as he had been dealing with her all before and just to get her back checked that there was no more pain as the vet we saw at Roehampton had given her a steriod injection and painkillers and though she had been better the last couple of days since he said it would be a good idea just to check her back to make sure she has no more pain! I thought that we could just take her back to Westside vets as they are our local vet and the ones who had been dealing with her beforehand but Rory said to me " Listen I think you should find yourself another local vet'?!" I was shocked and upset and asked oh really why is that? He just said there was a lot of bullshit last week?! I said oh I did not understand why and that and the reason why we had taken her to Roehampton Vets but he just said again we should find another local vet and he would send them her info? Very very shocked also we had spent over £500 with them last week and have been going there for many years to be treated like that?! It was a very stressful and worrying past 10 days and of course we were thinking of what to do for the best for our cat Bella. And if Rory/Westside vet had just said that we cant take Bella there for a check up for her back to make sure she had no more pain and that we had to take her To Roehampton as thats who had last seen her then of course I would have understood but to strike her/us off his books? When hes been our local vet for years for all our cats that I really do not understand at all! That is not action of a compassionate and caring vet?!

Spending Friday night intently watching your cat to see how much of a problem he has peeing,…read moreinstead of going out to eat ramen with other Yelpers, doesn't sound like a great choice of activity. However, being a responsible pet owner, that is the choice I made (and the poor cat was looking so mournful, I had to forgive him his inconvenient timing). I phoned All Creatures just before closing time and explained little Alfie's odder than usual behaviour and obsessive toileting needs. The lady I spoke to was immediately helpful, seemed genuinely concerned and quickly advised on the possible medical explanation. I was able to book an appointment for first thing the following morning and she also gave me the number for the emergency out-of-hours vet just in case. The next morning, (having phoned the emergency vet and been given some very clear guidance enabling me to assess that the situation wasn't imminently fatal - I have so much knowledge on the topic now I feel like I may be capable of achieving a minor veterinary qualification myself), Alfie and I duly pitched up at All Creatures. The vet we saw came across as caring and knowledgeable, and Alfie seemed pretty calm throughout despite ordinarily being susceptible to stress during close encounters with vets. He even didn't seem to mind the observations about his weight - he's on a diet and going cold turkey on "Dreamies", but no need to rub it in when a fella's already feeling delicate eh. As well as dealing with the medical issue in hand, the vet also gave Alfie a general check, which seemed very thorough, noticing that he needs some dental work for a cracked tooth (which might have something to do with his penchant for tearing cardboard boxes into bits with his teeth). So it looks like we'll be returning quite soon.

This is a great veterinary surgery…read more When I lived in Wandsworth Town, I elected to take my two rats to this vet, as it was a nearby surgery that specialised in exotics (in addition to the normal cats, dogs and rabbits of course). The vets and the technicians were always friendly and knowledgeable. I had to take one of my rats in for surgery twice (to get tumours removed), and she was treated like a celebrity at All Creatures (one of the vet nurses particularly fawned all over her when she was in recovery and looked forward to when she had to come in for follow-up appointments so she could have a cuddle). The facilities themselves are completely clean, and - importantly for wary animals - All Creatures doesn't SMELL like a vet. I moved away from SW London and decided I should start taking my rats to a closer vet surgery, so I did. However, usually chilled out pets, they did not like this new vet, not even on their second visit, not one bit. So the next time they needed treatment I decided to take them back to All Creatures. My rats were most at ease with their most recent visit. So much so that there's no where else I can possibly ever take them, even if it might be a little more convenient for me. All Creatures is a winner.

No sense of being forced into un-needed treatments. Also the kindest and most sensitive handling of my 7 year old dog. I cannot recommend them highly enough. So good there are still some individual vet practices when so many have been taken over by corporate giants. Thank you all at Brockwell Vets and so pleased you are about to get your new consulting rooms. Good Luck

I thought I'd play the long game before leaving a review as to whether my last trip to this vets…read morecould have been avoided if the staff had been just a bit more diligent/competent following treatment of one of my cats for struvite crystals costing me nearly a bag of sand. A second emergency visit was needed 18 months later for the same issue and it was costing me more than I could afford so the practice advised me take it to blue cross for follow up checks. However when I collected my cat the owner whom has always been nice and fair, and to be honest did deduct some treatment costs, and this was before what I'm about to reveal. Like I said upon collecting my cat and paying nearly another grand the owner said to me about feeding a diet of prescription food particularly 'Hills' they do a CD range for urinary issues. Good advice but I then told her that on my first visit no one ever mentioned this when I collected and paid the bill. Nothing what so ever about after care if I had known then I would have fed him the prescription food as I've done so ever since. You should have seen the look on the owners face as she looked to her staff with eyes that said it all. Naturally she didn't say anything in front of me but I sure feel she would have once I left, because if her staff had been competent or diligent enough to inform me of the aftercare on my first visit just maybe the second costly visit could have been avoided. Now I say I'm playing the long game with this review because since the owner told me about the prescription food he's been fed it and has to date not had any urinary tract/struvite crystals issue, nearly four years clear. I won't be using again I would rather take my pets to organisations like animals charities such as PDSA, Blue Cross etc as the staff are motivated by the welfare of the animals rather than private vets that are driven by fiscal targets. It's a sad case because this could have been avoided if some degree of professionalism into the welfare, particularly the aftercare of the animals they are treating was considered.
