Please read Joanne B.'s review. I agree completely. Having been treated for five primary cancers in the past, likely related to PCB exposure in the city where I lived for ten years, one would think that an oncologist would be diligent in ruling out cancer or a metastasis when a patient is diagnosed with a rare neuromuscular disease that has been proven to be associated with cancer dating back to 1916. In my 15 minutes of allotted time at visits I have expressed my well-informed concerns only to be treated like a hypochondriac and dismissed as if I am a waste of his time. He ruled out three types of cancer and insists that I do not have cancer now based on a look at my limited blood work which was ordered by my internist regarding viruses and infections, as well as routine general panels due to my failing health. One sign I have had with every cancer diagnosis has been skin lesions, which have occurred prior to a cancer diagnosis and disappeared following surgery and successful removal. I have these skin lesions now, and they have been increasing for the past four months. I am very well-informed and was fortunate to have had excellent, caring, qualified oncologists in the past who never dismissed me in such a rude and unprofessional manner. This doctor went to a "one star" medical school, and that should be the first warning. Having family in this field, I know that it is important to know where your physician went to college, both undergrad and grad, as well as fellowships and of course, board certification. Dr. Campbell was the only doctor available to me in this area because as someone on disability, there are very few doctors who will accept me as a patient. This is a California-related issue. I was well-received at Boston's top hospitals and never expected, although my doctor back east did warn me, that I would have to settle for an oncologist like Dr. Campbell. The man is cocky and too quick to dismiss, which makes him a dangerous choice if you are concerned about a possible cancer diagnosis. He will throw a test out there for you, albeit very limited, and then dismiss you as if you are a waste of his time. I am alive because of early detection and qualified, well-educated, caring doctors in Maine and Massachusetts. Do not put your trust or risk your life by relying on Dr. Campbell to do his job. I write this from the heart and not from a point of anger. This is a warning to all people who want the best treatment possible for themselves and/or the people they love. read more
