My initial horrible experience was primarily due to my less than professional interaction with office manager Jenna (Jennifer) Proctor. Working as an RN in healthcare for the past 2 decades - I find myself comfortable in just about any healthcare setting. NOT IN THIS OFFICE. Admittedly - I was highly anxious having my first BCC removed from my face. Jena called my name after I was seated in waiting room. She led me to my procedure room (I was under the assumption she was the RN who was rooming me for my Mohs procedure). After telling me to set my belongings down, she asked me to confirm my address (as RN - found it odd she was asking to confirm my address rather than DOB, etc.). After confirming my address - Jena proceeded to aggressively demand $100 past due balance (that was a billing error from a different dermatologist not even connected to Dr. Bricca's office). I was very confused. I had never been to Dr. Bricca's office. How could I have a past due balance (?). When Dr. Bricca's office called to confirm my appointment 3 days prior - not one word said. Jena rudely and aggressively stated that if I wanted the procedure completed I would need to pay the past due balance. At that point - I was so upset I told Jenna I no longer wanted to go through with the procedure that day because of the distress she had caused. She proceeded to state in a threatening manner that it would be at least 4-5 months to be placed back on Dr. Bricca's schedule. It wasn't the threat from Jenna - rather that my work schedule had been cleared for 3 weeks (very difficult to do) - so I hesitantly proceeded. I called into Dr. Bricca's the following day to address my concerns with him. I received a return phone call from wife /office manager of Dr. Tanghetti's office (separate dermatology office). I received a basic "sorry to hear about your experience...We all have off days". Unacceptable answer for Mohs surgery office. I felt it important Dr. Bricca be aware of the office staff representing him. I mailed a certified letter to Dr. Bricca. Signed for by Jena Proctor. I never received a response from Dr. Bricca so perhaps Jena did not deliver. Hence - my decision to post this public review. COSMETIC REVIEW 6 MONTHS POST-OP My 6th Mohs procedure. FIRST time to Dr. Bricca. This was my first Mohs on my face. After reading a few reviews - and reading Dr. Bricca's website (where he boasts about all of his accomplishments and accolades). I called into the office to ask a few questions. Working as RN for past few decades - I felt as I had done enough research. During my suturing - Dr. Bricca stated "you'll be searching for my suture lines in 4 months". 6 months later - I am working with plastics / dermatologist to have the site revised. I am not overly vain / picky - however the suture line is lumpy (where terminal ends of internal sutures were placed) - and the most notable scarring is directly under my eye ( no where near the BCC site). HINDSIGHT: What I would have appreciated more on Dr. Bricca's website - was to read about updated post-op wound care techniques (silicone strips, red light therapy, gua sha, etc). When I walked out of his office that day - his staff handed me a very outdated BASIC wound care instructions that were to "clean with soap and water / apply vaseline for one week. Return to normal skin care after one month". That was it. Severaly lacking for resources available in 2026. I recommend DR FAZIO for Mohs!! read more

Ok, nobody enjoys basal cell carcinoma treatments, but Dr. Bricca and his capable staff made me feel welcome, comfortable and well cared for. He's a remarkable healer who brings a true aesthetic sense to his clinic and treatment strategy. His office is comfortable, the treatment rooms sparklingly clean and his staff well informed with very positive attitudes. Dr. Bricca is extremely dedicated to giving one the best medical care I have seen in a long time. His practice is run like a well oiled machine. Dr. Bricca was excellent at explaining everything that was going to happen during and after my procedure. The staff at the clinic from beginning to end was so very professional, organized and caring. I honestly did not feel anything except the first little needle stick. From then on, it was very comfortable. My wound is healing well following all their informative instructions. I went to Dr Bricca last year for a melanoma on my leg. He was great. Huge scar, but now very minimal. I went in a couple of days ago for a Basel cell on my nose. Much scarier being on my face especially after looking at photos on support sites. I was pretty freaked out by the time I got there, worrying about the pain and the scarring. YES it was a very long day and yes you have to wait a long time each time before going back for next steps, so be prepared for that. However he and his staff were amazing, patient, asked if I had questions and I never felt rushed. The numbing hurt, and I did need to get numb 3 times, but they made sure I was very numb and I never felt anything else. He gave me options on how to close and before I could even ask, he answered what I would have asked. Which was what would you do if it was you or your mom or sister. He recommended a flap from my cheek which really freaked me out again because now we were really going to my face. But he promised me it was the best chance of healing well and leaving minimal scarring. He moved slowly and carefully, talking to me the whole time. Lots of sutures, which he explained was so that it would heal nicely. I asked to see a picture when done and was so shocked at how good it looked. Except for swelling, you could barely tell he took skin from my cheek. And there was a pretty clean single line on my nose. He called me when I got home to check on me, which I totally appreciated. Long day for him too! Quite a bit of pain the first night and still very sore and swollen today. He said that's because it was my face work lots of nerves. I feel confident it will heal nicely and feel very fortunate I went to him. The only thing I would have done differently is asking for pain meds as the tylenol and advil want quite strong enough. read more

On March 31 2022, I had applied W/Dr.Bricca for Squamos Cell cancer on tip of my nose. Dr.Bricca removed the small lesion I thought a painful pimple. I Returned 1 wk later. Dr. B removed bandages, placed a graft on nose. Sent me home with a long page of instructions for homemade. That page told me everything I needed to know. I was amazed how following the simple instructions proved so Helpful. I am now 60 days almost healed. That instruction list was Perfect. I have very little scarring left. Each day is an improvement. i had a 9:30 appt, for 3 weeks in advance. i showed on time and waited 35 minutes past appt time and was never "called". when i went to the counter to check out here is what was said "your procedure is very extensive and we told you to plan on being here all day". little did i know half the day may be spent before ever seeing the doctor. read more

Dr Bricca did an extensive Mohs surgery on my nose 5 Years ago. When he took the dressings off he said there was a bump and it would go away. Five years later it is still there and I have a large bump near my eyebrow. I'm upset every time I see it. He saved me from cancer but now I feel like a freak. To make matters worse I have to shave my nose every day because of the area he took the skin graft from. Can't do laser because the hair is white and was told electrolysis would leave scars on my nose. I guess since I was 70 it didn't matter what I was going to look like to him. read more

I am so HAPPY that Dr. Bricca, and his team at the Front Desk, the RNs and Techs, Staff in Billing and the person who makes the coffee, ALL made my first time in Dr. Bricca's Office go so well. Had an exam, Dr. Bricca told me what he was going to do, the RNs and Techs made me feel very comfortable as i went into the waiting room for my turn to sit in the Operating Chair. When it was my turn, all went well, never felt the dime sized piece of skin being removed, next sent to sit in the Waiting Room, had some coffee as the biopsy was examined, thanks to those who do that, called back in and told, all the cancer from that area was gone and now i would be sewn up. Went to the Stitching Room, and felt some tugging, no pain, just wondering why it took so long, but I was HAPPY, knowing that cancer was gone from my head. Dr. Bricca told me all went well, and I Thanked him. The RN then patched my head, answered my question. The reason why it took longer than i thought it should be was that the stitching had to be four times the size of the dime sized patch, because when it healed, that area would heal flat and not be noticeable ..... she then told me how to take care of this surgery in the next week or so. I left Happy, and as I walked out the front door, i saw other patients with patches all over their head, some with more than my one patch, all waiting for the results of their biopsy. I was Very Impressed with Dr. Bricca and the Visible Staff that I saw, knowing that there were many who were part of his team that made my surgery go so well. Only problem now is that i cannot see any scar, but that's just a sign of how well Dr. Bricca does his MOHS Surgery, so he is my Go To Skin Cancer Surgeon if I have any more Skin Cancer !! Almost forgot, Dr. Bricca called me several hours later and told me all went well, so I would recommend Dr. Bricca if you have been Dx with Skin Cancer, and want to have no noticeable scars or stitch marks, not something as a guy I think is important, but this is Important to other patients. I can relate to two of the negative reviews I've seen, and unfortunately only saw them after I had my surgery. My regular dermatologist is great, referred me here for Mohs, said this was the guy. What an awful experience. Just like someone said, people moved in and out like cattle. I waited for long periods, he even came into my room twice by mistake, on his way to another. I had one small lesion the size of a freckle on my check next to my nose. I did my research, thought it would be a long and slow delicate process. I was surprised when he said he was cutting an inch and a half to be sure of the best scar, I had read some of the small ones can have deeper roots. He said "you won't even know it was there, it will be in your smile line." He cut a big chunk out of my cheek, an hour or so later, an assistant said he got it all. (the assistant I had, twice, was very nice and compassionate) and when he came in to stitch me up another hour later, he talked to the other assistant about weekend plans while I'm laying there terrified what I'm going to look like. (It seemed like he forced empathy or was uncomfortable with it?) Black eye, big scar, he said it could take a year for the stitches to dissolve so be patient. About six months later I had my annual review with my dermo, asked about the bumps at each end of the stitch, he said it was healing fine, given it time they will go away. At my one year mark, the stitches had mainly dissolved, the top bump was gone, but the bottom one remained. Bricca injected it with something, said it may flatten it, anything more might make it worse. Needless to say, I never went back and am left with what looks like a large, ever emerging pimple and resting btch face because my cheek is flatter on that side. I get it, he got the cancer, but it seems like it could have been handled better. Now I have another small lesion to deal with, lessons learned, and I know where I'm not going. :( read more

I just received MOHS surgery from Dr. Bricca on my eyelid to remove a sarcoma. It turned out my entire upper eyelid had to be removed, plus a little of my lower lid. I had to go in for 5 cuts to get it all, as they were trying to go slow and save as much eyelid as possible. It was obviously a difficult surgery, and I believe Dr. Bricca's skill saved me from a more invasive surgery in the future. The staff was incredible, kind, and supportive. You can tell they enjoy working there, and that's important. The only regret I had was having to go to another surgeon to graft a new eyelid and having to fast all day - I missed his wife's baked goodies I'm told. read more

Yesterday I had my first MOHS surgery on my lower lip. I could not be more pleased. Everyone at Dr. Bricca's office was welcoming, helpful, and in every way made me comfortable. Dr. Bricca's nursing staff are highly skilled. The anesthesia was almost painless and the surgery was painless. I felt like my case was very important to them. They explained everything they were doing and what would happen next. I also got a call from Dr. Bricca after I got home and I very much appreciate that level of care. This morning I woke up with no pain and the surgery appears to be already healing. I would recommend MOHS surgery to anyone who this procedure is appropriate for and I would highly recommend Dr. Bricca. I know I won't go anywhere else if I need to do this again. read more

I had Moh's Surgery recently on my face by Dr. Bricca and his staff. I have never had such a horrible Mohs surgery experience, and I have had this done 3 times before by other Mohs surgeons. Do not go to this surgeon. This office treats you like cattle. They stuff too many patients into the waiting room - I went outside and sat on the curb during my surgery wait as the room was so crowded. The staff rush you through - they never have time to answer your questions. I believe they are in a hurry as the medical staff doesn't work a whole week, and seem to be pushed to make a quota to get the profit return they desire. When they answer the phone they are brisk and give you the feeling of "why are you bothering me - don't you know how important we are!". More importantly, in my case, I found out later from another surgeon I had two options . I was never consulted beforehand about having options, or 2 options - I was told in the middle of a traumatic face surgery " now I'm going to do x,y,z on your face". I wonder ,too ,if the actual Mohs practice was done, and not just a big hole dug out - Mohs takes time, and is done very carefully and slowly, slice by slice. Dr. Bricca and his assistant discussed their weekend plans WHILE THEY WERE CUTTING AND SEWING ON MY FACE! To me this is just ludicrous...I can't imagine why you wouldn't be focusing on cutting instead of your weekend. I would never go back here to be treated rudely and rushed through my surgery. That I was never consulted properly, or treated like a human being, is not acceptable. The fact that my dermatologist recommended him is also unacceptable - what kind of agreement do they have. I wouldn't wish this experience on anyone. Take care who you select for this important, and stressful surgery. read more

They are attentive, professional, knowledgeable and help create an office where Dr. Bricca simply shines. As a professional photographer, I know a thing or two about how people feel with regards to their looks and how it affects their whole feeling of belonging and feeling good about themselves. Dr. Bricca is absolutely the best in giving you options that making an otherwise uncomfortable situation, feel much more at ease. Skin cancer and reconstructive surgery couldn't have a better 'face' representing it than Dr. Bricca. I was referred from a city 3 hours away from his Roseville office and yet, in a heartbeat, would gladly refer someone from another state to make the trip to his practice. Growing older doesn't mean growing uglier or sad about things that happen to our bodies and here is a business that proves that point.
