I have been going to Dr. Ryan for about seven years, and he and his staff have always been great. He cares, and he is knowledgeable.

Dr. Saleh is kind, welcoming to his patients, and is very proactive in helping deal with any health issues. I have been to many doctors before who have disregarded symptoms of a conditions I have had, but you Dr. Saleh is the opposite. It is clear he really cares about his patients and wants to help them as much as he can. His office is also very helpful and makes it easy to book appointments and deal with paperwork. Truly the best!

He diagnosed 2 things my wife had that docs at UCSD couldn't. Most recently I had a lower back/leg issue which I went to see him first for, as he has been a team doc for NFL teams. He took an in office X-ray, discovered the problem, prescribed appropriate medications, and I had immediate relief. He ordered an MRI, which gave a complete picture of what was wrong. After discussing the results via a video call, he has referred me to an orthopedic pain doc and feels it can be managed without surgery. I can't speak highly enough about Dr Saleh, and his staff is excellent. Always friendly and thorough. I highly recommend d Shelter Island Medical for your primary care.

Please note that that doesn't mean you will be seen at that time. If you did the online paperwork it will still take a hot second for them to go through and verify everything so if you do make an appointment because you're short on time I recommend going 15 minutes early. Loved how clean the place was! Please note I went early on a Friday and the wait was minimal so I can't comment during busy hours but they still handled my visit quickly. They have a small parking lot in the back. All in all fast and efficient with great customer service.

I took my wife to AFC today seeking treatment because she needed IV fluids. When we checked in, the…read morereceptionist repeatedly informed us that if the physician or PA determined they couldn't treat her, we would still be responsible for our co-pay. While I thought that was unusual, I appreciated the transparency and agreed because my wife needed care. Despite having scheduled an appointment ahead of time, we were taken to an exam room and left waiting for nearly an hour. The room was unbearably hot, and eventually I had to leave the room and ask someone if they could turn on the air conditioning because it felt like a sauna. The person I spoke with turned out to be the PA who was supposed to treat my wife. She followed me back to the room, asked my wife a few questions, and then informed us that because they were closing in about an hour and IV treatment typically takes an hour, my wife would need to go to the emergency room instead. So after sitting in a sweltering room for an hour, despite having an appointment, we paid $200 only to be told to go somewhere else for the treatment we came in for. If it was clear from the start that they couldn't provide the care my wife needed, that should have been communicated before we spent an hour waiting and paid for a visit that accomplished nothing. Based on this experience, I would not return to this office--even for something as minor as a runny nose.

I didn't tell anyone at Dr. Chambers's office this, but it's like they knew. They were very kind and personable. It did take forever to be seen, but I hoped that was because the doctor took time with each patient (and it gave me time to chill out, so I didn't mind). I think I was right because he spent plenty of time with me: talking to me at first and then following up at the end in his office. He was efficient but I didn't feel rushed. He immediately prescribed medication I've needed for a year but other doctors have treated me weird for asking about -- I wasn't even planning on asking for it because of how others have treated me, but Dr. Chambers asked ME why I wasn't taking it and wrote a prescription right away. He also ordered bloodwork for something I was concerned about that other doctors have dismissed. I just felt listened to and supported the whole time, and never treated like I was just "supposed to know" how to do things at a doctor's office. It went a long way toward making me feel more comfortable trying to get my healthcare on track.
