Dr. Sundy is one of (if not the) best practitioner I've worked with. He truly embodies a holistic approach, taking the time to understand a condition from the body, mind, and spiritual elements. I came to him with a very complex case of a recurring gluteal tendonopathy from running for over a year, layered with a more recent significant thoracic surgery for a tumor removal. He listened and took detailed notes, and made sure I felt comfortable. In addition to being a genuinely kind, intuitive, and compassionate human, he's incredibly intelligent and I'm always impressed at his knowledge of how different body areas work together and affect each other. His work has been extremely effective, I haven't had this good of range of motion in my spine in over half a year - far more effective than the exercises prescribed by my surgeon post op. I've also felt more balanced between my right and left legs (and my range of motion on my affected leg has improved so significantly it genuinely shocked me in the best way possible!). I've also felt more peaceful and optimistic mentally and spiritually. It amazes me when I can feel a difference before and after a session in tighter areas. Dr. Sundy has a gift. He's truly meant to do this work and I'm forever grateful I was led to his care. I can't recommend him enough! read more

I can't say enough good things about Dr. David Sundy. I walked into his practice unable to walk, sit, sleep, or even find the energy to get through the day. Little by little he helped remove every issue I was struggling with. He is kind, deeply knowledgeable, and trained in many different healing modalities. He has even trained surgeons on how to help patients avoid knee surgery. I've been to so many doctors over the years, but Dr. Sundy is the only one who has truly helped me with my pain and mobility issues in a lasting way. After just my first treatment I already felt real relief. He is absolutely worth every bit of time and money. read more

I've had four sessions with Dr. Sundy because he seems to be the most affordable one-stop shop. If I understood him correctly, he worked as a massage therapist for years before he became a chiropractor in the early 2000s. Then he realized that clients would return for the same issues. So he learned many different forms of energy work like different reiki lineages, chakra, past life and quantum healing. No other chiropractor, energy worker or bodyworker I've experienced offers such an extensive list of modalities, including a foot scanning machine for orthotics and more. And I've tried almost everything! At least one other holistic chiropractor I know refers clients to Dr. Sundy because one of his specialties is knees. Unlike some holistic chiropractors I called, Dr. Sundy: Is willing to take the time and risk to get reimbursed by car insurance companies (if you were in an accident). So you don't have to pay upfront. Offers 45 minute sessions. The longest follow-up sessions other holistic chiropractors I found are 30 minutes. That says a lot because I rarely go back to the same practitioner twice. After reading reviews for years for many Bay Area chiropractors, I decided I wanted to see him after a friend recommended him. A car accident legal settlement provided the "lotto ticket" for me to see him. His tips were often counterintuitive to what I heard from a practitioner trained purely in massage. Before one session, I hobbled in. After the session, I could walk so much more freely. Also, I asked about a strange, strong sensation I'd feel in the middle of the night. After our session, that sensation didn't return. When the same symptoms returned, I texted him on a long weekend out of desperation. He kindly tried to squeeze me in on a holiday! At another session, he palpated my mobility a handful of times. And each time he tried a different technique until he found a technique that helped. His intuition even guides him to do light or deep massage to spots no one has massaged me before. Throughout each session, he explained what modality he used and why without me asking. My sleep, neck, shoulders, back, hips, and knees thank him for going where no energy worker, chiropractor and physical therapist have gone before! If you go to him with any kind of spiritual, emotional or physical issue with an open-mind, you might be pleasantly surprised! If you email or leave a voicemail, text to tell him :) read more

Dr sundy is an intuitive, intelligent and thoughtful practitioner. He not only heals patients but also gives them the tools to help themselves at home. Dr sundy has helped me with a long-standing knee issue of 15 years as well as, more recently, back issues postpartum. I have spent a lot of them going to different practitioners for my knee as it has bothered me from a knee surgery 15 years. Dr sundy taught me a simple 15-20 min stretch that has greatly helped alleviate discomfort and allowed me to regain some mobility. This has been life changing for me as I used to be plagued by discomfort and pain on a daily basis. I highly recommend dr sundy for both recent and longstanding problems. read more

I have been a long time patient of Dr David Sundy. My back is all kinds of messed up, sometimes I will bend over and twist in a weird way and BAM something pinches and I cant walk. It happens rarely but when it does Dr Sundy is the only person who can put me back together. I also go in for preventative care/ maintain my wrist/hand health....I am an artist that uses a lot of tiny brunches and hunches over in weird positions for long periods of time so....yeah He also offers discounted rates for full time students and people on medicare and is an all around really nice person read more

Dr. Sundy helped me tremendously with what turned out to be "micro tears" in my right knee. I wasn't sure if I had a full blown tear in my meniscus or not, and was very hesitant to go to an orthopedist who would just tell me "yep, you need surgery"! Through a consultation with a variety of techniques, Dr. Sundy was able to asses that it was not a full tear, but micro tears that were troubling my knee. His skill set and knowledge base are large - I felt confident that he was coming at the issue from all possible angles with so many different modules of healing behind him. Though manipulation of the knee itself, chiropractic work, laser treatments (to change the physiology of the cells to help them heal themselves) and at home exercise, I can now say that my knee is feeling nearly totally back to normal! I can tell there is still some weakness in there, so I'm taking it easy so as not to injure it again. At this rate, I'll have a full recovery - very grateful! The sessions were relaxing and the space calming. Dr. Sundy will take the time to figure out what's going on beyond just the problem area, so as to treat you as a whole instead of just an injured part. Would recommend Dr. Sundy to anyone, not just people with knee problems! read more

My spouse, my son, and I saw David and he checked all of us out. In a nutshell: Wow, what an improvement! He said we all had similar patterns of adjustment and that it was common to see such a thing in families. I've seen several chiropractors in my life, but I can honestly say that I've never had such dramatic results. That night, I got a better night's sleep than I can remember having in a long time. I strongly recommend Active Healing. Bring the whole family. read more

Simply, he's a wizard who uses different modalities than the run-of-the-mill, crack-your-back chiropractor. I'm a Parkinson's patient with debilitating spinal complications and each time I visit, I walk out a different person. If you are suffering from anything related to your spine or any imbalance, I suggest you give him a try. read more

Hand numbness resolved! David is a truly gifted chiropractor and healer. Being a health practitioner myself, I recognize the great quality of his work. His techniques are gentle yet more powerful than any other chiropractic adjustment I've ever experienced. I felt concerned about my hand being numb and it was so great to have such a quick resolution! He is very personable and great at explaining your condition. He takes his time to make sure that everything's done correctly even if it took longer. He uses multiple modalities to accurately assess the root of the problem, and finds the best way to correct any misalignment. I highly recommend him! read more

I have only good things to say about Dr.Sundy, he basically healed what I thought it was impossible to heal, my "Partial Bicep Tendon Tear". I had this injury on my left elbow around May of 2012 while I was doing Pull Ups without proper warm up, at the beginning I didn't put a lot of attention to my injury, I thought it was something less severe, finally on September I decided to see an orthopedist and she gave a diagnosis, which was "Partial Bicep Tendon Tear", and her solution was to stop training for like 5 weeks and chances were 50% that I might need surgery, I think her method was a little bit conservative, but then some how fate brought Dr.Sundy in the middle of my way and I decided to give it a try to his method. I was a little skeptic at the beginning, but I was trying to do everything possible to avoid surgery, finally after completed the treatment, which lasted like 6 weeks, 2x/week and consisted of non-cracking style chiropractic adjustments, a lot of direct soft tissue work on the injured spot and laser therapy and proper instruction of exercises, I can say that the pain on my elbow went from 100% to 0%, now I'm back to my normal training routine of exercises, and I'm lifting more weight now and I'm doing Pulls Ups again, I believe that this Doctor fixed my elbow completely, so if you are having some sort of tendonitis or a Partial Bicep Tendon Tear, Dr.Sundy is the solution for you. read more

I have an odd injury which causes me aches and pains from time to time (aches and pains... and I'm only 26... looking forward to old age mmhmm yes). I usually just wait it out and they go away, but this time I went in to a therapist try and get myself tuned up massage style. And it worked. I hurt a little bit today, but I was warned that the first time I get re-aligned could cause pain the next day. Oh well. You should have seen me yesterday though, I felt like someone had replaced my legs with a new set. It didn't feel natural, and then at the same time, it did. Like myself, but better. Is that a slogan? It should be. read more

I love David. I'm so glad he's in my life. I started to see him because I developed tendonitis on my left elbow and it seemed to get worse over time. During my first treatment, we did alot of assisted stretching and concentrated work. I felt a big difference afterwards and eventually after the third treatment, the pain and discomfort was gone. I still see him on a regular basis, to keep my elbow and whole body in check. I definitely recommend him for injury specific work and he's a great guy to boot! read more

Amazing experience! I barely could walk this morning. Incredible back pain in a middle of busy Holiday season. Doctor Sundy had afternoon opening, 45 minutes later I could walk straight without pain, and now back to work. Thank you! The best chiropractic experience! read more

I originally visited David for a Chiropractic exam and a massage and both were superb! David was so helpful that I went back for a follow up Chiropractic Alignment and he solved all of my problems. I have had back pain for over 5 years due to a torn disk from a snowboarding accident and David was able to realign my spine so I do not have any pain anymore. I would highly recommend David for any chiropractic help! Thanks David! read more

I hobbled into Dr. Sundy's office due to an old MCL injury that had become inflamed and left me unable to walk for several weeks. After half of a dozen sessions with Dr. Sundy, I was able to walk out stronger than I had been in years. If you are suffering from a knee injury, I highly recommend visiting Dr. Sundy's office for an evaluation and adjustment. He was able to quickly identify my injury and make adjustments that left me feeling better than ever. I can't recommend him highly enough. read more

David is an amazing doctor. His multitude of modalities and wealth of knowledge has been a great asset to my knee's recovery. I tore a calf muscle while hiking a short while ago. Dr Sundy used various techniques to re-strengthen the muscle, by working directly on the calf muscle as well as on the ankle, the foot, and toes. his patience and understanding are quite compelling, so much so that i've come to have a deep trust in his work. His knowledge base is extraordinary!! I would (and do) recommend Dr. David Sundy to anyone who's tired of searching for the 'right' chiropractor. read more

I can't recommend Dr. David Sundy enough and words probably won't express the gratitude I have for him. Couple of month ago I was injured and since then been dealing with a very severe herniated disc (probably burst by now). Dr. Sundy came highly recommended from friends and family friends who have been treated by him. First time I saw Dr. Sundy I was not able to walk almost at all, the pain was not letting me function properly with a numbness all over my left leg. After the first session I started being able to move more, not much but more. Dr. Sundy told me it will be a long healing process, but I could never have imagined how fast the progress happened. Three month later and seeing Dr. Sundy multiple times almost every week. I can now move, function, and work freely with very little pain. I will continue getting treated by Dr. Sundy as I think he is the best and definitely a life saver (at least in my case). If there were 10 starts I would have gave it...Thank you Dr. David Sundy!! read more

For years I have seen chiropractors, hence I am very particular and I do not like my "back cracked;" it scares me. After moving to San Francisco, I visited 5 different chiropractors with no success. Then my primary care physician recommended Dr. Sundy. Honestly, I could not live without him. Over 3 years ago, I came to him after my knee surgery. He was able to cut my healing time in half, and provide me pain relief options with NO pain medication. Today, I still see him for multiple concerns including cervical neck degeneration, neck pain, back pain, GI issues, hand and leg numbness, headaches, rosacea, and emotional balance. He is so much more than a knee specialist. He provides alternative treatments using an activator (so no cracking for me), Reiki, Bowen, and massage. In addition, he provides education on exercise, nutrition, strength, balance, and safe supplementation. He is knowledgeable, helpful, kind, and NEVER pushy. He is the true definition of a holistic healer. I am forever grateful for his amazing energy and talents. read more

Dr. Sundy is really good. I had severe issues with my lower body from hamstrings to feet and he essentially has fixed my feet, hamstring issues, shins mostly and soon to be knees. All is still work in progress but I see an end in sight which I did not prior to seeing him. I'm now running again and walking almost completely pain free. Feet- which were determined by several podiatrists to be a form of plantar fascitis, are 95% better . I would recommend him highly if you are seeking an osteopath. read more
