We had a high bar because we had just gone to an Indian restaurant in Chicago that was over the top good. Sizzling Tandoor met that bar. It was just as good as Chicago. Many reviews mentioned the Rogan Josh Lamb so we ordered that and balanced it off with Chicken Tikka Masala. We each ate half of each entree. A side of plain Naan completed the meal. We like hot food and we're going to order hot, but our server, Muskan, convinced us to get medium hot. It was perfect. Muskan was attentive but didn't hover. She engaged us in a nice convo after our meal and was very pleasant. The most difficult part was deciding which we liked better. The lamb won, but only by a small margin. Both were excellent.

We had seen the "Butcher" and "open"sign and thought, let's give it a go (especially being that it was 6:50 on Christmas Eve and we had nothing planned for dinner the next night!) We were warmly greeted by the owner, who directed us to the seafood choices, which I had inquired about. However, upon seeing all of the special middle-eastern items they had (in addition to a wide selection of typical butcher-shop items at very decent rates), we decided to go that direction. The owner was friendly and outgoing and helped us put together a collection of items for our special dinner including, chicken shwarma, kabobs, Iranian bread, some feta (which he shared with me how to fry up!), some pickles, and baklava for dessert. We loved our experience and can't wait to cook up all this amazing food for our special holiday dinner! This place is hideous and they know it. Let me explain…read more I ask for a chicken shawarma at 5:30 pm on a Friday, the place is empty. I pay for it and they send me to the toppings counter to select what I want in the shawarma. I tell him what toppings I want and then he says ok, " have a seat" .?? I guess he will bring the sandwich to my table? Wrong. I sit at a table and then when it is ready they call me to come and get it. .? They had me sit at a table so that I would not see what they put in the shawarma. You know how they normally cut it off a big hunk of delicious smokey meat on a vertical cooking thing? Not here. The meat is from a metal drawer and once assembled it gets squeezed flat in a grill like a panini. Ugh, never again.

Don't know if it makes a difference, but when I was there, there were at least 2 families of middle eastern descent dining there. A little but of street cred maybe? I highly recommend trying out this place!

The Persian Grill House in Victoria, British Columbia is #2. The Persian Grill House has THE BEST barg kabab, even compared to Raffi's Place. This food was amazing. Even better was the service. The Persian Grill House took care of us like we were part of their family. We felt welcomed and humbled to be invited into their "home". Don't worry about price or portion sizes. They're Persian, so you know you're going to get a lot of food and your money's worth. Persians invented shareable portions, true story. As a consumer you can do whatever you want. With that being said, this is my best advice...skip the buffet and order from the menu. If buffet is your thing, then sure have at it. But, if you want fresh made food cooked and prepared to perfection, you definitely want to order directly from the menu. Every table in this restaurant should be filled every night. People should be waiting for a table to sit down and enjoy this restaurant, service, and food. I whole heartedly recommend The Persian Grill House to everyone. The next time I visit Victoria, I will without a doubt return to The Persian Grill House. Thank you Persian Grill House. I hope for your continued health and success. Daste shomā dard nakone!

Knowing that Lebanese food is my favorite of all this was one of our first stops in my two weeks stay. This is a family owned place with the owners behind the counter and working in the kitchen, they appear to be husband and wife, and they couldn't be more friendly or kind. They were so very nice to us and answered all of our silly questions. The food here is magnificent! I had never had tabouli fries before, that was the first. My buddy said their fries were excellent and they are, they are double fried and very crunchy. That is my favorite kind of fry. Pillowy soft on the inside too. The beef-lamb shawarma was special. We got the one with the hot sauce and added more. We are both also chilli heads. I will absolutely be bringing my wife here when we return to the island in the fall. Yalla is 5 stars all the way. Lots of locals in and out while we dined. They know this place is special.
