I've been eyeing this place for a while since some of my coworkers have raved about it, and I finally decided to give a try! This is a small place with no seating on the inside, but there are some tables at the front where you can sit. Admittedly, when I went inside, I was a bit concerned about how fresh the ingredients might be because of the state of the place (seemed a tad dingy), but turns out that's all part of the charm because the food slapped! I ordered the spicy chicken, and the chicken was insanely juicy, and the sauce and other ingredients married it so well. I especially love the addition of the avocado to add a creaminess to the sub. I recommend checking this place out, but please note that this is not a fancy spot by any means, but don't let that stop you from trying one of their delicious subs. read more

I'm going to go against the grain on this sandwich joint located off the campus of Emory. It was really pretty meh for me. Parking is nearby, but could offer challenge. I caught them off peak and parked by the door. I ordered a meatball sub and found out their soda machine was broke, no ice, no bottle drinks. Not even water. The staff was meh. Seating is only outside under an awning, no heat. Also it had been raining and was 50% flooded Order was out in around 10 minutes and was good. So that saved the review. I maybe return. Having heard great things about this place, I was excited to finally have an excuse to. There are a few tables outside underneath some coverage but not so sure how warm it would be with temperatures dropping now. I got their original Dave's cosmic sub while my friend got their big dave sub. Both however, were about the same size being on the smaller side. They came out in about 10 minutes despite there not being a lot of people there but had a handful of people for take out. Subs were hot and well stuffed but for the price I was hoping for a big more size and flavor. Nice staff and decent subs but not sure if I'd go out of my way to return. read more

Tried their "signature" Original Dave Cosmic Sub and it was just okay. Nothing offensive, but nothing memorable either. Honestly felt like something I could throw together from Publix for cheaper and probably better. This spot definitely caters to the college crowd of nearby Emory: quick, semi-cheap, and gives off strong "hangover meal" vibes. If you're nearby and hungry, it'll do the job. But if you're expecting something next-level or worth a detour this may not be the place. The person taking my order was helpful and the sub came out in a reasonable amount of time so no issues there. Dave's is seriously the best sandwich spot in town. Humble little place in Emory Village where you order at the counter and can sit outside on their patio. They have a large menu of subs, and everything comes with their "cosmic sauce," which is SO good. My favorites are the Far Out Chicken Sub and the Chicken Parm Sandwich -- both are packed with flavor and just hit the spot every time. Overall, this place was pretty average. I'd give it a fair 3.5 stars if I could. It was my first time here, so I went with the Original Save Cosmic sub. It was definitely a step up from Subway, but not leagues better than something like Jimmy John's. When I try local sandwich shops, I always compare them to the big chains, and I hold them to a high standard. The Psychedelic Sauce sounded unique, but it ended up just tasting like a light sweet onion sauce--nothing too special. The sandwich was a little messy and just okay overall. My girlfriend got the Chicken Parm, and that one was definitely better. Good flavor and a solid portion for the price. Pricing overall was fair for the quality of food we got. The sweet tea was a miss--really not good--and the drink selection was pretty limited. Atmosphere was fine, nothing bad but nothing memorable. All in all, it was a 3.5-star experience, but I rounded up to four since I could see it being better with a different sandwich. Might give it another shot. read more

Got two large subs. Needless to say they were below average. Barely ANY meat at all, as if they were stretching a small portion for a large, and sauced to the max so bun was falling apart. I was told by a couple friends that quality has fallen off but I gave it a chance. It was literally a large bun with mostly sauce drenched all over it. Flavor nor portion of meat were worth the price. For $20 go to Publix and get something with an actual good portion of meat for $10, or go over to Jersey mikes. My friend and I were looking for a quick dinner spot in the Emory area and we decided to check out Dave's! There's dedicated parking which I appreciated and a small patio we could sit at (although it was a little chilly in March). It's fast casual so we ordered at the counter. We decided to split a large Crazy Dave and made it a combo so we could get chips and a drink. Our sub came out super fast which I appreciated. This sandwich was AMAZING. The size was MASSIVE. It certainly had a kick to it and they did not skimp on the toppings. This sandwich was dripping in dressing and seasoning and I was LOVING IT. I have been a long-time customer of Dave's and have previously loved their sandwiches. However, a recent experience with their customer service makes me never want to go back. Recently, I ordered two sandwiches, chips, and two drinks to-go, paid at the counter and left a 20% tip, then found out that the drinks I had ordered were completely out at the fountain. When I pointed this out to the cashier and asked if I could be refunded the drinks since the ones I ordered were out, she said she didn't know how to process a refund. She then asked the rest of the staff and no one knew how to do this simple process on the cash register. So -- and here's what's truly baffling -- they directed me to "call the owner" to process the refund. They handed me a business card for the owner, and when I tried calling the number, it just rang once and then beeped. I don't even know if the message I tried to leave went through because I never heard back from anyone. Also - the sandwiches were not as good as they have been in the past, and there was a loose pickle just kind of tossed into the bottom of the bag that wound up getting pickle juice all over the passenger seat in my car. Not fun! Bottom line: There are too many other places in Atlanta to go for lunch/sandwiches that actually care about their customers, and I'd rather give those other places that are a pleasant experience my business. I will not go back here again. Their sandwiches aren't put-up-with-bad-service good. Ate at this place while my daughter was at an activity at nearby Emory. Place was pretty empty on the weekend. I ordered a sub which was ready in a reasonable amount of time. I attended an after work event in the area and wanted to go to a restaurant that didn't seem too crowded and had vegetarian options. I ordered the vegetarian meatball sandwich! It was so good and flavorful! It made you forget it was vegetarian! It was a great casual place to just relax solo or to hangout with friends. Really good subs. I love their chicken subs. I usually get it thru Uber eats and the sandwiches are saucy so the bread can get soggy, just something to be mindful of if you're ordering far away. They also put the pickle spear wrapped in with it so it doesn't help, but it's still a really good sub. As for the place, they have really cool workers who seem to care about the food they make. They're all laid back and friendly. The place itself is extremely tiny but they have a patio to eat outdoors. Definitely give it a try read more

I am a huge fan of the sandwiches here at Dave's! They have so many options, and so far everything I've has tastes great, including several vegetarian sandwiches. They're also conveniently located next to a free parking lot in Emory Village that has ample parking. All seating is outdoors under a covered roof. It does tend to get busy during lunch, especially if classes are in session, so wait times can vary between 5-20 min, but my sandwich always comes out warm and fresh! usually get food to go as seating can be limited but the patio (where you wait for your order) always has decent rock music playing and sports on for your entertainment. read more

Very solid campus-adjacent sub shop with hippie vibes and a large selection of satisfying sandwiches. They've got something for your veggie friends and your hardcore carnivores. Get your sub toasted for sure. We got a classic sub and a haight ashbury. It isn't super fast (we waited probably 15 minutes for our sandwiches and it was not busy) but we didn't die of hunger. The "small" size is actually the size of what I would consider a regular sub. The "large" size is basically two regular subs. If you're really hungry that's the one for you, but I was good with a "small" size. Bread is great, fillings are generous and well proportioned, I have no complaints.
