I actually enjoy washing my own car, but with an SUV and the California sun, washing and drying it in my driveway can be pretty miserable. Dave's Car Wash is a great alternative. There are multiple self-service bays, so you don't feel rushed, and the covered wash area helps keep you out of the heat. They also have a vacuum area with plenty of trash cans, making it easy to clean out the inside of your vehicle as well. As a woman, I felt completely safe there. It's located right on the grounds of the smog center, is clean and well-maintained, and accepts both cards and quarters. I spent about $8 total for washing and drying my SUV, possibly even a little less. I tend to add extra time so I don't run out while washing. I was able to wash, dry, condition the rubber trim, and clean my tires without feeling rushed. If you prefer a self-service car wash, I would definitely recommend Dave's Car Wash. read more

This place is unfortunately scamming people now. Every time you use this car wash to start it up, it's 3$ worth of coins. It even advertises 3$ to start so it's intentional misleading. They recently added a tap to pay so i thought that was super convenient. However every time you use it, it charges you 10$ instead of the 3$ it's supposed to charge you. The maintenance of this self-service car wash really needs improvement. Today, I wasted 4 dollars on a car washing booth that had a non-working spray hose. No signs indicating the sprayer did not work, and no cones blocking off the booth. So I moved to the next booth, which had a smashed-up brush. And paid over $4 or that wash with the smashed-up brush. Also, the less expensive vacuum has been broken for months. Clearly, the owner/manager does not care about the services offered. And it's impossible to tell how to request a refund because there are no signs indicating how to contact the manager. For not much more money than I spent today, I could have gone to a real car wash. Glad I found this place! Decided to try this location out after looking for a car wash that's touch-less since you shouldn't bring a Tesla through a wash with brushes. The automated wash stall was great! Very high-tech and applied generous amounts of soap. Fair pricing as well. One of the vacuum stalls was out of order. The other 2 were occupied but there's another vacuum on the other side of the property that worked perfectly. Strong suction and was able to clean the interior of my car much quicker than at home. I believe the vacuum was $1 for 5 minutes. Much better than the Chevron stations near the freeway that charge $2+. Overall, I do plan on coming back here. Maybe in the summer when it's warmer I'll try the self service stalls. Try it out! read more

Used so many quarters I eventually ran out and it's over priced to the max even though you're doing it yourself no wonder why no one's here. And vacuums even cost to much. This car wash would be a good place IF it was maintained, however there were multiple nails all over the floor of the car wash. Also the Pre-wash and the Tire cleaner were out of the cleaning products and this is the second time I have experienced both being out or empty. I had to add more money because what did trickle out, was not the cleaning product, rather it was just water. read more

First off all, I take my vehicles here all the time and always run into some issue. The third station I used one time wasn't even working. I swiped my card and it took $3 and the hose didn't even turn on. So I had to bite the bullet and move to the second one that actually worked, and spend another $3 for a 3 minute spray down. I have to use this place cause my apartment doesn't have a hose. Then when I was drying off my car, one of the employees walks up to me and goes "you can't dry your car here, it's only for spraying down then leaving." Like, I just spent 6 bucks let me dry my damn car off. No one was even waiting behind me or anything, and if someone did pull up I would of moved. Nothing like a high and mighty acting employee at a car wash I recommend not going here tbh... read more

Worked fine. Water pressure was fine, soap was abundant, car is now clean.

One car wash bay had leaks coming out of the ceiling. Second one the high pressure rinse didn't work. So much time and energy wasted at this place not only that exposing my car to the sun mid wash to go to the other bay. Last time here. Guy next to me said it happened to him too and he isn't coming back. Good job Dave or whoever the owner is. I don't know who the guy here is in the morning but that should be your first priority coming into work. Making sure all the equipment is functional before it gets used all day. After washing I dried my car and began using detailer/wax. Same owner guy came over right away and told me I had to leave. I understand someone else might want to wash but the place was practically empty. Amazing how he spotted me detailing so quick when he can't spot the problems at this place. What a joke. read more

This place has been so inconsistent every time my husband and I wash our cars here. We have terrible experiences with at least one of our cars. One time my husband was going to help me because you only have five minutes to wash your car and he yelled at me and was very rude. However, another time the car wash charge my card two times and wasn't working because the owner didn't fix it, so he gave me a free wash so that was nice. But every single time we go there's an issue with one of the machines, and we either get charged and can't wash our car because it's broken or we just get doubled charged. We're now not be going back to wash our cars here because it has happened again. You might as well go to an automatic car wash and get your moneys worth. Do it yourself wash where you have the hose. $2 for a 4-minute wash. It's never packed whenever I go, and I do believe this is the only one in the area. I prefer washing my own car this way, so this is close to home and convenient for me. They also have a vacuum and a dumpster nearby if you need to do heavy duty cleaning for your car. read more

This is an older place but everything works and the brushes are soft. I am ofcourse referring to the self wash, I have not and prefer not to use the automatic wash. The features are basic: water and soap nozzle, foaming brush and wax. The wax comes out thick like soap, which means you get more on the car when towel drying. It gets a little busy but I have never had to wait for a spot or rush to finish up. There is not many shady spots if you want to pull to the side and hand wax. The owner prefers that you don't hand wax it yourself since there is an auto detailer in the same lot. This place is great if you need a quick fix after a rainy day. If your picky like me and bring your own wash mit and towels your car will look great. The down side is that they don't offer a time discount like Kelly's car wash. Never the less, I am thankful to have a self wash near work. read more

I live in Folsom and this is the only DIY car wash that I know of to use. Anyways I have the same complaints as all the other reviews here and the latest complaint that I have is that I got charged $10.00 when I swiped my credit card to get a wash. It says $3.00 for 6 mins and I swiped my card twice. All of the other problems I have had at this place was that the first bay pressure hose stops spraying in the middle of the wash and had to go into another bay and pay again to complete my car. I have also been kicked out by the owner because I was drying my car off in the bay when nobody was waiting to use it. I have lost money in the change machine and never got it back. And yes the place is a dump and always dirty and the equipment is crap. So I will be going back to get my $4.00 owed to me and wont use the first bay again or my credit card... I will bring my own quarters and then I wont lose any more money there.... What a business...he makes money off all of our losses. read more

I used this car wash for the first time the other day and had a really great experience! It's self service (which I prefer) but the owner is still on site to help you out with anything you need. He was super nice too! He even gave me a few free minutes of vacuuming for the slight inconvenience of the machine not wanting to accept my money. I really love local small businesses like these! Deserves ZERO stars! Went to this place attempted to use their car ash that ashes fr you. Inserted $5, but machine wouldn't take $1 bills and not able t brain a refund! I used to go to this place almost weekly but never again. Stalls were filthy with mud, water leaks from the ceiling, and barely any soap and no wax came out of the nozzle. I brought my complaint to the owner who was on site and he really didn't seem to care and certainly did not care about my dissatisfaction. read more

I've always been a loyal customer here but the rude manager ruined it for me. I was there for awhile one day because there was a lot that needed to be done to my car but the manager rudely told me I had to move. I would understand if people were waiting on me but the entire time I was there, not a single person was waiting and there was always an empty stall. The "rinse" part of the self-serve cycle worked OK, but the soap brush pushed out large globs of suds and I realized that $3.50 worth of quarters was not going to get those suds washed off. Used only the vacuums to clean out my car between work and school. Great vacuums that really did the job cleaning up my kids' mess in the back. $.25/min, with minimum 4 minute purchase. Great price, only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I didn't use the car wash. :) read more

Came in at 8:30 at night. Put my $10 in the machine. And nothing happened. And the phone number is disconnected. Never again.

Decent car wash for the price, I come here once a week and spend just $3.00 for 6 minutes.

Don't go to the vacuum near the handicap parking space. It was very low pressure and it did not vacuum well at all.
