I needed a good haircut desperately. I had tried a couple other shops in Turlock, but they were either doing the fade and shave that younger guys are looking for, or they just didn't understand what I wanted. Which I thought was a pretty basic old school cut. I found Dave's Barbershop on Yelp. I was not disappointed. I just said I needed it shortened up and off the collar. I didn't want to see much skin, just long enough it would not be a military cut. He cleaned up the neckline nicely. Excellent conversation & vibe. Price was $12.00. Dave is the man. His haircuts aren't perfect, but they are only $14. Compared to other places that are $30-$50, that's pretty good. He takes about 15 minutes, and the haircuts aren't bad. He's kind of like the Little Caesar's of haircuts: if you need something quick, cheap, and decent, then he's the guy. Plus he's super nice. Defintiely a 4/5 read more

I came from out of town for a family get together and was trying to get trimmed up the day before. I figured since my hair was already short, that a Barber shop would be perfect to trim the edges and clean me up. After I looked in the mirror he put in front of me, I though I was on a game show and the cameras were about to come out. Swear on my life I thought he was kidding. My left ear was trimmed a full inch higher than my right, and it was painfully noticeable! I asked if he could maybe blend it for me a little better and he scoffed at me like I was trippin or something. After the awkward 12 second blend attempt, he told me it was $12 buckers. I couldn't believe the 4 min hack job was gonna leave me lookin like this. He was a jerk too. I gave him the money which was a total of $15 and I went and got in my car. I drove away and after three or four blocks I was so disgusted with how my head looked but I went back to the barbershop. I went inside and told him look at this and give me my money back and he did. Great guy. I went in, explained how my hair was thinning and how I wanted it to look. He ended up doing a great job going a little shorter than expected. He gave me a sharp look rather than let it stay long for a comb-over which others have done before. He's a great guy with lots of character and for 11 bucks I was very happy. Also he uses shaving cream and a straight blade to give a very crisp look around the edges. I'm usually tense around hairdressers but not this guy.
