Turns out it was the DC input from the charger to the motherboard; although I can see why he would recommend a motherboard swap but I already spent $200 to replace the screen... it still didn't work so I couldn't use it anywhere except my dock at home :( I only put on an extra star because I might not know exactly what I'm talking about but my laptops been working fine since I replaced this part alone, saving money VS coming to this repair shop. Would not recommend coming here unless you can dedicate a full 24 hours away from a screaming, nagging wife to fix things with your own two hands. I basically paid a professional to help me repair my own laptop so unless you're coming here for a desktop or tower PC, Stay far away from this repair.

I was first told that it would be done in 1-2 days, it took a week. second, when I actually got my computer back, still randomly shut down so nothing was actually fixed. Lastly, when attempting to come back to pick up the PSU box from them, they wrote inside of it with something completely unnecessary. also for both the computer still being broken, as well as the writing, they tried to blame me for both. I don't mind that I got scammed out of $300, with nothing fixed. I can't believe they try to blame the customer after everything, and take no accountability. Never asked for a refund, yet to excuse the poor service and writing they said it was my attempts at it. ridiculous service. EDIT: Business replied saying things they did, I didn't want an upgrade to windows 11, they did update the BIOS, which is fine. Original request was for PSU to be changed to fix the power randomly cutting off, I provided a PSU specifically for this. Later i called back to also ask them to check my m.2 to see what was corrupted. I will admit the one positive experience I had with this business was how quickly they responded to messages and calls. They said stress tested games I said were previously crashing, I didn't specify any , I said "basically all steam games", and the only one they tested according to what they told me was Rocket League. They say I'm trying to get free services, no, if I was trying to get free services I wouldn't have even paid, I wouldn't have given them my card, what i'm trying to do is get my computer working. As stated in my original message, and I can also provide text messages with this business I had, I don't mind that I was scammed out of $300, that's my own fault, but to try to blame everything on the customer is where I believe it is unacceptable, especially with how respectful I was toward your business.

The person who helped me was incredibly thorough in explaining my options to me and preparing a plan of action for me. He was also able to get me in the same day! I dropped my laptop off on Tuesday and I paid around $85 dollars to run a diagnostic on my Macbook Air to see if we could figure out what was wrong. The man called me on Wednesday to give me an update, and he called me again on Thursday to let me know my laptop couldn't be fixed without a significant cost. It turned out to be an issue with the logic board which was out of my budget to fix as a student. During the phone call, the same guy explained the problem to me in incredible detail so I could make an informed choice about what to do next. I could tell his priority was finding a solution I was happy with because he kindly answered every question I had with a positive attitude and clear answers. I trusted his expertise a lot and I probably would have said yes to any service he recommended + I am appreciative he didn't treat my situation as a cash grab.
