Walked into Dave & Buster's in the middle of the afternoon on a Saturday. We wanted to grab a quick bite to eat and play some games. Close parking to the front entrance can be hard to find at peak times even with the business being adjacent to Jordan Creek Mall. There's plenty of spots, but you might have to hike a little. My guess is mall guests utilize the parking right in front of Dave & Buster's too while they shop. The gentlemen at the host station said the wait for a table would be 1 1/2 hours despite there being visibly plenty of open tables... Not enough staff to cover all the sections maybe? Or maybe they were reserved...? There were seats open at the bar so we headed that direction. The full food menu is available at the bar too. Seating is mostly larger open booths, high top tables and chairs, and the seating at the bar. Our bartender/server was nice enough. We ordered the following: 1x Cheese Stick Stack - "Extra-large crispy cheese sticks topped with shredded Parmesan. Served with marinara sauce." 1x Bar Burgers & Wings Platter. Wings with honey barbecue - "Smashed burger sliders paired with Bone-In Wings with your choice of sauce or dry rub. Served with seasoned fries and celery sticks with your choice of ranch or bleu cheese." 1x Hottie burger and fries - "Two cajun-spiced smashed burger patties, topped with pickled jalapeños, pepperjack cheese, lettuce, pickles, tomato, onions, jalapeño ranch, and a fried jalapeño." 2x Fountain drinks (Coke products) 1x Dangerous Waters Island Punch - "Malibu Coconut, Blue Curaçao, pineapple, and fresh citrus mix." As nice as our bartender was I think he keyed something in wrong with the Bar Burgers & Wings Platter. The wings were forgotten. They (him and a manager) straightened it out and adjusted our bill a little. The food was all good. The stand out to both of us was the Cheese Stick Stack. This is an awesome app with an epic cheese pull! The wings were REALLY good too... After our food and drinks we spent some time playing games. Just messing around... A good mix of old or new arcade games. Skee ball, basketball games, clown ball toss, whack a mole, water gun race, coin pushes, wheels of chance, etc. The place was clean and there were staff available on the floor if you ran into any problems or had questions. I was organizing a company team outing here. The customer service on the phone was helpful as I was struggling with the options provided on the website for our small groups. IF you are trying to put together a group of less than 10 you cant utilize their offered company team building . I was informed there would have to be exceptions made to make it work. Once we figured out what would work for us we did 3 smaller groups in the middle of the week in the middle of the day. The atmosphere is loud. Even with no one else really in there. The waitress was fantastic with my group. I explained what we were doing and order the meal and play with play cards for our group. She talked me through what she was going to do and helped make sure it worked out alright. Hang onto your D&B cards, they can be reloaded. You will have to pay a small fee to reload, but no as much if you have reactivate a new card. There are some really big games. You can win "tickets" of course. I thought the place was bigger, but the gaming area is half and the eating/bar is on the other. Circling back on the food. That was a shock. It was really good. Far better than I had thought. I got the burger and was pleasantly full. Everyone in our group of 7 enjoyed their meals. Everyone left happy and full. Again my waitress was very helpful and accommodating. I came here with a group for the first time a few days ago and had an overall good experience. We started with an appetizer, drinks, and dinner. Our server said it was her first day and did a great job taking care of us. I got the slider burgers and they were good, I just didn't care for the onions and pickles. Everyone agreed their food was good, but not great. Next, we had fun exploring the arcade and trying out lots of the games. We enjoyed the multi-player games so we could play as a group. So my sister and I decided to go here a few weeks ago. Apparently it was on their first night of their new menu. We decided we wanted to eat first. We got there a little after 6:30pm. The staff upfront were really helpful and directed us on where to go. The drinks were great we ended up trying quite a few things. We ended up doing a scooby snack and electric gummy bear shot. I was forewarned that the electric gummy bear shot may make my mouth numb for a bit. They do have a 1 drink per person on the table at a time. We then got a keg of Captains passion. We ended up asking lots of questions to our waitress because we both are allergic to gluten and dairy. Our waitress was very knowledgeable on most of the answers but did go back and check on a few. They have a shared fryer so no wings allowed which is kind of what we wanted when we walked in. The kitchen ended up screwing both of our orders up and trying to send them out but out waitress caught it. They decided to fry my chicken instead of grilling it and I have no clue what they did to the other burger. Out waitress ended uo coming back and double checking what we ordered and we showed her the menu where it says grilled. She then took it to the manager and then the kitchen. The manager than stayed in the kitchen to make sure everything was made properly. The manager did have them clean one of the fryers so that we could have french fries because we were not expecting to get any. But in the end we did not get our food for almost 2 hours after getting there. And my sisters burger was still missing her bacon jam and bacon aioili. At this point we just gave up because we were hungry. We finally finished eating around 9pm and went to go play some of the games. When we had asked our waitress if the game play card set up took cash and she said yes. Out of the 4 machines they have to set up your game play card only 1 takes cash and it rejected it saying we had to go to the front desk. So we got it set up. Most of these games are not self explanatory. But almost none of them have rules. So you end up using a game play just to figure it out. read more

Dave and Busters for the games! Wowwww! Great arcade for the Jordan creek area. Smaller location than what I've seen in other cities but it IS a nice arcade. Lots of newer games that I haven't seen before. Very attractive LARGE games make this place visually appealing. Very loud if one was going to dine here. It might be a little annoying. There is not enough space between games and the dining area; or even a wall to separate. Huuuuuge screens for sport watching on the TVs. Overall the games were fantastic! Had a private event tasting for holiday party menu. The ham was the best on the buffet! Had a sweet pineapple flavor sooo good! The salmon was second favorite. On a whim, we stopped in on a Saturday afternoon (right after the St. Patrick's Day parade). It was pretty busy, and we were initially told it would be a 40-minute wait for our party of 7. We ended up only waiting about 5 minutes before we were sat. The food was surprisingly good. We ordered a couple apps, but my favorites were the queso and the chicken potstickers. I'll start with the positives. I love Dave & Buster's. I am originally from Chicagoland so I always enjoyed meeting friends and gaming! Currently, we spend a good amount of time in the Des Moines area so I was excited to see Dave & Buster's move in! The gaming was fun and reasonably priced. The food and service was a miss though. I wasn't expecting spectacular food but my oldest and I shared wings so the ranch should be delectable. It was not. My youngest ordered a pizza off the kids menu and it was ok. There is an abundant amount of parking and the lighting is perfect. You walk in and are immediately greeted with a hostess to seat you or answer any questions you may have. There are also a bunch of big screen tv's suspended from the ceiling or on the wall showing different sports. The hostess stand does have a menu you can take and walk around with to decide what you want. When you are ready to order you find a table and and wait to be served. Service may be a little slow if they are pretty busy, but they will see you and get your food. The food I am definitely impressed with! For being an arcade they have some amazing food! The wings especially, they were perfectly cooked, nice and crispy but not too much! I can honestly say these wings are the best I've had! I feel the fried pickles had a little bit of spice to the breading but they weren't bad. We also tried the flatbread cheese sticks, I feel these were more like a mini cheese pizza but we're good too! Dessert was my most favorite out of all the food so far! I've not had such a well put together, perfectly portioned, very soft and so delicious piece of cake let alone ice cream cake!! The strawberries, and the whipped cream were the perfect combo mixed with the vanilla ice cream. The games are fun, a little high for the amount of chips they use, but worth it if you just need a night to relax. Just like the fair or a carnival some of the games may seem rigged or are harder than they should be. Some games are very easy to win coins if you learn the strategy for them. Once your done and get to turn in your tickets for rewards there are many different options. I'm very satisfied with what I got for my tickets as I was able to get more than just one thing. I like that they offer the option to combine all cards into one to redeem all points at once. I just had my son's birthday party here. The party package we picked was amazing! The flatbread Pepperoni Pizza and Philly Cheesesteak Eggrolls were a HIT! (the Eggrolls we bought separately) Demarco was our server and we all were truly impressed and felt very welcomed and comfortable. My wife works In Jordan Creek Mall. So, for lunch we decided to check out the new Dave and Busters. Was completely amazed! Very nice! I had the Crispy Hawaiian chicken sandwich. Was one of the best Chicken sandwich's I've had, my wife had the mushroom Stout Burger, she loved it! The service was fast and friendly. First time at Dave and Busters and frankly I had no idea what I was getting myself into. First of all, we went on a Saturday, our reservation was for 4 pm. Parking was a nightmare, we ended up parking behind the building quite a ways away. Upon entering the building there is a migraine indicating amount of noise and it's coming at you from all angles. Game noise, music and all kinds of overstimulation all over...eventually that was less noticeable however I will say I left there feeling like I had been yelling all night long, which in order to hear your table, you had to. Originally we had a party of 12 and then that dwindled down to 7 and they moved us to a booth, which was not sufficient enough since four of us, are teenagers and no one was willing to half cheek it off to enjoy our food. They accommodate us and moved the teenagers to their own table. Thank goodness! I inquired about local beers they might have since it was on the menu and was told it's a universal menu and they do not carry any local beers. Which is a total bummer because we have tons in the area. I ordered a hard apple cider and two shareable appetizers, my sons orders burgers and all of it came out all together, which was quite frustrating because then the second appetizer (soggy nachos) didn't end up even being touched. My sons said the burgers were forgettable... nothing amazing, but pretty mediocre. The potstickers were great, spicy but definitely over priced. Boys ate, wanted to play games... 20 bucks I would think would be sufficient, it was not and it sounds like the Dragon Slayer guy who flips the tickets was kind of a jerk to my kids since they don't have many tickets to turn into prizes. Instead haphazardly telling them they should have bought more cards and giving them finger traps, which ok...if that's all they can afford with their tickets then fine, but don't be a jerk to kids. This place is a nightmare on the hospitality side. The fries we got were cold, my girl friend got the wrong order, the waiter was awesome at first then his attitude swung. Refused to bring our bills or take a gift $50 gift card, he also told a staff member in front of customers he does not want to take a table of 12 when he was asked to. The games are awesome but its just to loud. Took almost 2 hours to finally get cashed out which the waiter threw a fit and said he would pay the bill over a gift card and his god awful attitude. We barely got 1 round of drinks. If Applebees decided to get an arcade I would frequent the heck out of that place. By the way expect to take a second mortgage out on your home to eat here. Food is good! Games are great! The service has been awful the two times I've been here the wait staff is EXTREMELY slow, they constantly forget refills, food. You'll sit for a good 15/20 mins without anything before someone comes to help you. I understand it's busy but there should be more communication between wait staff and management if wait staff cannot handle multiple tables. read more
