Specialties
Rachel Brice’s fusion bellydance studio. Classes are primarily online, with occasional in-person special events, workshops, and class series. Primary topics include Raqs Sharqi dance (both traditional & inspired), history, culture, practice and performance. We also offer yoga, Pilates, world dance, music, and fitness classes.
History
Established in 2011.
Since 2011 Datura has offered a space for people to enjoy Raqs Sharqi (also known as belly dance) and it's offshoot fusion forms.
We welcome people of any gender identity or expression, race, ethnicity, size, nationality, sexual orientation, ability level, neurotype, religion, elder status, family structure, culture, subculture, political opinion, identity, and self-identification. We welcome people who want to change the world, people who want to keep in touch with friends, people who want to make great art, and people who just need a break after work.
Our only restrictions are those we need to keep the service viable for other users and the environment enjoyable and safe.
In addition to different styles of belly dance, many teachers offer yoga, Pilates, and other dance forms from around the world. Check our schedule for upcoming workshops and regular classes.
