Scam Scam Scam. I have worked with a number of marketing and advertising firms for our small business. DataSphere was the worst by far. They will make you a video but that's about it, and not a good video either, and you won't get your video for your own use without paying more than they are already going to charge you for monthly service. None of our coupons were downloaded by customers and we could not find our ads anywhere, I mean multiple people actively searching for them and nothing, literally nothing. Over the 8 months we were under contract with DataSphere they produced exactly $0.00 in revenue for our company. They are dishonest and interested in one thing, your money. Run, don't walk from this company, they are a symbol of things that are wrong in the business world today. They did let us out of our contract early but in reality the fair thing to do would have been to refund every dollar we gave them. There is no difference from what DataSphere is doing, and stealing. We have filed a report with the Better Business Bureau against DataSphere in the hopes that they will not be permitted to continue to rip off hard-working business owners. Since I've written my review, Datasphere has tried contacting me about "making it right". I gave this company more chances to make this right before I wrote this review and they wouldn't do the right thing then. I think it's funny that they want to now that my review is live. My experience with Datasphere was poor. The salesman either misunderstood what he was selling or misled me. He told me in plain language that if they did not meet their guarantee, I could cancel. Partially true. When I called to cancel, the agreement was held over my head. I was going to have to pay 40% of the remaining contract. The video they made for me...was OK...but I didn't get much guidance, I got homework. They didn't team up with me and guide me through it. They rushed me. I had hired them because I didn't have much time or talent for making videos and advertising online. I received no proactive service during this year of this parasitic company sucking money out of my company. Not once during the term of my agreement did they contact me to consult on how my online marketing could be more effective. They were happy to toss together an OK video, show me the crappy platform, and take my money month after month. BAIT AND SWITCH! HORRIBLE PEOPLE! I received a call from Cameron selling me a Video spot on our local TV channel WTSP for $169. Wow, great price so what;s the catch. It is a banner ad on the TV channel's website. I am a little disturbed by the bait and switch but its still not a bad deal. I receive my contract titled "Infiniti Aesthetics Inc. WTSP Contract.pdf" while Cameron is on the phone and he tells me to sign and return it. Yes...that should have been a red flag but I'm trusting my local TV station. Later the same day I received an email from Lauren, the "producer" who is actually the producer of my banner ad. It also includes a mobile and a Facebook ad. The Facebook ad is on LocalSaver and the mobile ad has the LocalSaverlogo on it and not my business logo. I explain to Lauren that I have worked hard to brand my business and the LocalSaver logo and LocalSaver in general is 100% incongruent with my brand. She said it cannot be removed and that there is not room for my logo. I informed her that I was not interested in any affiliation with Local saver or their ads. I never gave it another thought. Yet another bait and switch company trying to prey on small business owners. Last week I noticed a charge on my credit card for a company called Datasphere. I called that company and they informed me who they were and that I had signed a contract with them on October 26th and says that they have tried to contact me to get my video ad done but were unsuccessful. He now wants to set up a "getting started' call. Vaguely recalling something to this effect, I scheduled the call. After our call, I notice that this has charged monthly to my account. I search my email for Datasphere and find the contract that Cameron emailed me. It has the new business address and an incorrect phone number that transposed 2 numbers. I see that indeed it is actually $169/month. I also find Laurens emails and realize that this is the LocalSaver affiliated company that I "fired" 3 months ago! I then called and spoke to Matt to tell him of the situation and got cut off. He left a voicemail stating that I could not get out of my contract. When I called him back to discuss, he was extremely rude and argumentative.I told him I wanted to speak to a manager and he was very resistant to that. At least 20min later I finally get him to put Kyle on the phone. Kyle was equally as rude. After another 20 minutes with him, I did finally convince him to have his supervisor Ruth call me. Ruth finally called me this week (at least a week later) while I was at a dinner meeting. I have tried repeatedly to call her back and she has not answered. Just as an update...a customer service rep replied on the Yelp board offering to help. I replied and told her I'd sent an email to the manager and was waiting to hear back. The rep on Yelp did not reply. My email was sent to the manager on July 20th. It is now August 1st and I've still heard nothing back. We've made MULTIPLE attempts to reconcile this. BEWARE: The Datasphere contract goes month-to-month beyond the year of offered service, and they may tell you that up front and have you sign on the fine print, but there is no notice that your year has ended and your contract is moving month-to-month. They refunded one month, but not two months charged to me. The quality of the original video is cheap, and I was not given the location on the website I was told I would get. So the sales guy told me that as a result my information would appear in extended areas for two months but then I was told a supervisor said that was not possible. I should have backed out at that point, but I thought I would just take the loss, but then to find out they were charging me month to month was what caused me to write this and make sure people know about their inconsistent practices. read more

I have been using Datashpere for 5 months now and have not received a single lead from there program. I continued to receive sales calls trying to sell me the exact same "exclusive" package that I had already purchased. During the account reviews with my quote un-quote success team I have been told "I don't know why you are not getting any leads you are getting plenty of actions". Then on my last phone call a few weeks ago I was promised a manager would be calling me within the next couple of days, and I have still not heard from anyone. This company locks you into a long term contract based on them producing "actions" that do translate into lead generation. I am convinced the reason for the year long contract is because no one would continue after a couple of months with no results. We paid them $2,149.20 for a years worth of service. After the first 2 months I checked in and noticed that we were not getting any results not even one referral according to our google analytics. I called and asked them about this and they said it will not show up on our end but if we look at their website it will. I logged into my account on their website and it was showing that we were getting 75 actions a month. This data could not be independently verified though. After a years worth of their guaranteed actions I could not find a single verifiable result. I can not prove it but I suspect we were swindled by this company. I asked for a refund at the end of the year because we paid for something and got nothing in return but they denied to refund. I even tried searching for my own advertisement and could not find anything from them. I wish they would refund our money. read more

The sales person who contacted me totally misrepresented the advertising package presented to me. I was told that the advertising was on WKEF/ABC 22 and my business would be an exclusive real estate promotion with a banner ad daily on the news and weather site for these stations. I was told there would be a guarantee of 30-45 hits per month for my target area. This offer would be available to only one real estate company and would give me exclusive advertising every time someone accessed the news or weather. I was told that a banner would be designed for me by their staff and that I could also run coupon ads on the stations site. When I was contacted the rep told me she was designing a web page and facebook site for me. I told her I already had a web page and facebook site that was not what I contracted for. She told me she was sorry and would have some one else contact. I was contacted again by another rep offering the same thing which I declined and cancelled my contract. Emails began arriving telling me that my web page was ready for review, I responded that I wished to cancel my contract due to false advertising of the product. I was told I would have to pay for the advertising whether I used it or not! I have contacted the BBB, and the Ohio Attorney General regarding this scam. read more

I then received phone calls and emails saying I was past due on my account. This is a scam. Regardless of whether anything they do for you holds any value, they LIE to get your commitment which is what makes it a scam. They tell you they are with your local news affiliate (NOT) and they tell you that if you aren't satisfied, you can cancel anytime (NOT). Even the "actions" promised are vague and are not based on anything that is actually useful. I asked if we would get contact information for anyone clicking on our ad and was told that was "coming" (I'm sure that's another lie). I made the mistake of giving them my card and telling them to hold my spot until we could go over the paperwork (was going into a meeting). I called back about a half hour later to review the documents, which of course were NOT as represented. I immediately told them I wasn't going to sign as the terms were not favorable nor were they as they had been explained. There were guarantees only for them with nothing really guaranteed for me. DataSphere is one of the wort companies/ products I have EVER purchased! I tried to cancel my account with them as the product they sold me was NOTHING like the product they delivered. I was told they would creat a logo for me. And they did but it had nothing to do with my company, its colors or vision. When I tried to change it, I was never able to reach anyone. I was also told a production team was going to creat a video of me about my company for people to wacth. That never happened on any level. I attempted to cancel my subscription for 3 weeks to no avail. I was instructed to always leave a voicemail and my account manager would call me back with in 24 hours. I still have not ever received a call back from anyone from their company. Then they made my account delinquent because my credit card got hacked. When I tried to call them back to rectify and cancel again, no one ever called me back. NOW THEY HAVE SENT MY ACCOUNT TO COLLECTION!!!! Thus messing with my credit for something they did wrong. So I am leaving 1 star because you will not get any business from this company. The one star they get for nice customer service thus far, but over the phone they mentioned we would've the only spot light location and I went online to look at other salons and I noticed they still have coupons for another salon boutique that used to be at my salon location. Which means they are promoting two salons at the same address. I prefer to use groupon even though I take a small cut I actually get clients in the door. I do understand it takes time to get clients bit it shouldn't take that much time If they are a well established business. I get much more business from referrals and Facebook and Instagram . I wish I would have seen the reviews before I jumped into what seemed like a good idea at the time. I have already called to get out of my agreement and hoping I will get a refund as well . I would not like to keep using the service plus it is not easy to use if you are an extremely busy business owner as myself. Find yourself a good marketing person and deal with them directly. Very poor experience. Datasphere promised to place my ad on local news websites and this will produce over 50 actionable leads per month. I was just hoping for 4 or 5 actionable leads per month. After 10 months not a single actionable lead or any other kind of lead. Datasphere did not provide any reports or information regarding where my ad was displaying or how many hits the ad was receiving. I must say I have to add to the bad reviews for this place. I signed up early summer after getting a call telling me I will be the only clothing store on the ad. It sounded great at the time but for the money we have to pay each month it is way overpriced. I love exposure but when I go on the local website for KSDK I never see my shop pop up. I have called them a few times needing help with adding and altering my coupons and they told me I get help one time and I have not gotten 1 person that came in with a coupon.For that kind of money they should be helping me. So that said, I emailed and called and left a message both last week and have not heard back from anyone. DataSphere is a scam! I signed a 12 month contract with them and during the four months that I stayed with them they did not deliver on their part of the contract. When I initially singed up with them I did complain at how I got burned with Yelp and the Sales person told me that they are "better then Yelp" and that they can get me at least 30 new customers every month! They also misrepresented themselves as they are from Parenting.com. When I signed the contract, the contract specified that I will be getting at least 30 Actions per month (which the sales person assured me translates to 30 new customers). However, during the 4 month course I got 4 contacts that were not even relevant to my business - 4 as in someone called but hung-up, and 3 people that liked my Facebook ad! During the 4 months I also had someone view the video they created only 6 times! These certainly do not translate to contracted 30 actions per month!! They also said that they will have my advertising on Parents.com, Parenting.com and Familycircle.com but they only put an ad in Parenting.com once during the 4 months I was with them. They advertised my business on Facebook and GoogleAdwords only - which by the way I am able to do so too for a fraction of the price that they were charging me. Also, for each month they show Month-to-Date Actions/Incentives and they try to trick you that these are for that one specific month but are not as they clearly state (once your roll over the chart tracker) that these are cumulative. Every time I reached out to them to see what is going on they told me that I am not seeing much Actions because I keep on updating coupons (updating as in running July 4th special then running a Labor Day special along an ongoing Armed Forces special that I have throughout the whole year) and that I should leave the coupons alone! - so Advertising 101 how can this be true!? I do not have any proof on this but I can speculate that they went aggressively after new customers and over promised on what they can deliver so that they can be sold to Sinclair Broadcasting by fluffing-up their sales. These guys are a scam stay away! They refused to refund me for the months that they did not even meet their contract obligations. However,I was able to get out of my contract without losing any additional money. read more

They told us they worked with the local news Chanel and would generate 100s of leads per month from their advertising banner on the news website. We never saw our name mentioned nor did we receive one single call email or message of any kind in return for all the monies that they retrieved. SCAM ALERT - I would give them below zero stars if I could. These people need to be locked up, bad, bad business. This is a bit enraging but these people are scam artists. Their bull-advertising is not effective, save your money and use someone reputable like Google or Yelp. Here is what I experienced with them: First they called in pretending to be affiliated with Chanel 5 News website and angle their jargon in such a way that you think it's like the news is interested in you. I knew it was just advertising featured on the news website so I gave it a try anyway with the plan (and I told them this too) to gage it out the first month and see if it's right for us longer term. While discussing the contract & terms they were vague and tell you misinformation, one of our very specific questions early on was: can we terminate at any point? and we won't be responsible for whatever time/service we're not with you right WRONG - Now we're trying to terminate service with them and they are making it a trip to hell and a half, why is it so hard to terminate with someone? It looks to me like a legal issue in the making. Right now it is the 5th conversation over the phone and countless emails back and forth, with one of their managers Ruth basically yelling and getting so aggressive on the phone trying to convince me they're not a scam. I told her it was bad business to haggle so much to the point it is exhausting regarding terminating service, WTF?? They have you work with them on creating a video and advertising banner, I provided the entire script and images for mine so I basically did all the work, we basically paid them for nothing)... and now we've got this potential hefty fee waiting for us, SCAM SCAM SCAM.... when discussing things with their managers, first it was: you're responsible for 12 months payment (even if you cancel), and then it was: ok, well we can change your contract to our "shortest term" of 9 months, then it was: ok, well we'll reduce it to our (new) "shortest term" of 6 months. Then Ms. Ruth wants to do me a huge favor and say, ok, we'll do it for 3 months, telling me very aggressively "we're doing you the favor." Man, it is so agitating, EVERYONE DONT WASTE YOUR TIME, THESE PEOPLE ARE MORONS TO THE 10TH DEGREE. Such bad business. While companies like Amazon pay for replacement items and shipping out of their own pockets to accommodate customers, these a-holes are stealing money for a service they haven't even done. It took me 3 weeks to see my ad and the ad was in a different space than what was pitched to me. I wish to God I had read Yelp reviews before signing up with Datasphere. Like many of the reviewers here I work really hard for what I earn and I was excited at what I was told about Datasphere's marketing system. Datasphere has GREAT salespeople on the front end selling this service, but the problem is their service doesn't deliver any results. They would be a good company if they did, but judging by all the 1-star reviews, and judging by my own personal experience, they don't deliver on the promises they make. The sales people exaggerate the results by telling you how many impressions you'll get and how many sites your advertising is on. I've been paying over $250 per month and in almost A YEAR I have received ZERO business from this marketing system. It's astonishing that a company that delivers such poor results can continue to take people's money. Their cancellation policy states that you must pay 40% of the remaining term. That one policy alone tells you they don't stand behind the service they provide because it's awful. If they didn't take 40% of your money when you cancel they'd make no money because everyone would cancel pretty soon after signing up. So they have to take your money when you leave them. The salesperson told me that 92% of their customers renew their service after the 1 year up (because of the business they receive). I'm 100% sure that's absolutely false! I signed up with this company in January with a 1 year contract to advertise myself as a real estate agent through the King5 news website in two market areas. I set up their monthly billing through my credit card and had no problems during the first 2 months. On the 3rd month my CC did not go through for the recurring billing and I was told that an email was sent to me however it must have gone into my junk mail. Either way the billing did not go through my credit card for 3 months and not once did I receive a call from this company to let me know they were having trouble with my payment. I am very busy and pay for a lot of advertising so sometimes it is hard to keep track of all of it. So I just received a call from a collections company that DataSphere sent my full 1 year balance to for collection. Not once have I had any call from this company to inform me of the issue and get it resolved until they sent me to collections. I will not be renewing this contract with them and I strongly advise against using them for any advertising as it is a waste of money. I have never received a single contact from their efforts in putting my information online through their marketing. NOT WORTH THE MONEY SPENT. read more

Worst decision I could have ever made. I was talked into running an add on the KARE 11 webpage. They were good at making it seem like it was a better deal then it was. the video they made me was terrible. I never in the whole year received a single customer saying they found me using the add. I was told that my add would be running on the front page of the webpage and it was, but only if you clicked that you were located in the city our business was in. We tried to cancel and found out that we would have to pay 50% of the remaining balance for the year to get out. As a small business and this being my first place advertising for my business, this company single hand-idly drained all of my advertising money all with no return and no way to get out for a whole year. I just finished a one year contract with Datasphere for advertising on the WUSA website. WUSA is the CBS affiliate in Washington DC. I was promised the moon. I never received one lead. I called several times for assistance in making this advertising work for me and no one seemed to care whether I was successful or not. I just received an email from Datasphere responding to my interest in continuing my advertising for 50%. I never expressed any interest in continuing. I couldn't wait for the contract to end. When I directly talked with the consultant suggesting they use a model like Google Advertising where they charge me 10 cents a click he said the "cost could get out of control." With only 40 clicks a month my probability of getting any inquiries is extremely low. Just use Google or Facebook who let you cancel at any time and charge you for performance.
