DJ Omead was awesome! Very easy to work with, and the Dashing Events website event planning tool super professional and very detailed. We met with Omead on twice and explained the type of music that we wanted: a little bit of modern Russian music, some top 20s, and some EDM. All was which was not a problem for Omead. He assured us that he had us covered with his collection of something like 16,000 songs, and if he didn't have a particular song he could get it without a problem. The Dashing Events, event planning login, was very easy to work with and allowed us to choose the songs for every single part of night -- from the grand entrance, to the garder removal, to garter toss, to final dance, to first dance, etc etc. We were also able to specify 10 must play songs, and 30 play if possible songs, songs not to play, etc. DJ Omead was very easy to work with. As a host he was perfect. Not too much overhand direction like what we saw by other hosts at other weddings, not too light, just perfect. Our guests knew what was happening, he was able to direct when needed, and lean back when direction was not required. We also got a Saxaponist and a percussionist for our Wedding Day, and again, both performers were very professional, and it was just perfect. Multiple guests were like "where did you get the idea for the saxaphonist, and drums, this is awesome!" We were very pleased with DJ Omead, everything was perfect. I must say it was hard for me to imagine the experience before my wedding because its not like you get to practive with the drummers, so you dont know the full experience until you actually walk in but let me just say that Omead fully understood exactly what we wanted and it was honestly even better then I expected. DJ Omead was the best decision we made in planning our wedding. My wife and I are Coptic Egyptian Americans. Our goal was to have an unforgettable dance party. This was so important that we booked our venue for an additional hour than normal. The party started at 7:00 pm and went till 1:00am. DJ Omead was worth every penny. He gave us a party better than we could have imagined. When we began our search for DJs, we were focused on finding someone who was versatile in a variety of music - from top 40 to the Wobble to Arabic classics and pop. After ten different phone interviews with various disc jockeys, we felt that Dashing Event's DJ Omead was the best fit. He came highly recommended from our friends: "a professional, well reputed, excellent mixer, great MJ, who is able to host multicultural events, with particular strength in Arabic/American music mix". He really fit what we envisioned our entertainment night will be. It was very easy to work with him, complete our wedding timeline on his website, and select our songs from his online database. His online client portal is amazing - it gave us access to our playlist, which meant we could add songs we wanted as we heard/remembered them, from anywhere, anytime. The portal also has planning tools such as a timeline sheet that is easy to use and thorough. DJ Omead was also open to other suggestions. He accepted a top 30 excel playlist from me without any problems and obtained the songs on his own. The week prior to our wedding my wife and I spoke to him on the phone, reviewed the timeline, and answered any remaining questions he had. Where do I even begin? If I could give Dashing Events and DJ O more than 5 stars, I would in a heartbeat. I live in the San Francisco Area and planning a wedding for 300 guests in Burbank. Not an easy task but DJ Omead made my life insanely easy. Communication was prompt, professional and easy. And when I got wrapped up in other wedding madness, Omead would contact me with reminders and sent me a tool to help me get through the details of the wedding. The two nights BEFORE the wedding: We had a teleconference to confirm times, names, songs, etc. When my bridal party made last minute changes, he accommodated them and constantly assured me that everything was going to be great. My wife and I recently got married at the Millennium Biltmore in Los Angeles and we used Dashing Events for our lighting. Because the ballroom is an old 1920s style ballroom, my wife definitely wanted uplighting to accent all the ornate columns and walls and pin spots to focus on all the beautiful flowers she picked out. We were originally getting pricing all over the map and not knowing enough about lighting I felt very out of my element. But after meeting with Omead from DE, he put our mind at ease. He did an excellent job of explaining what exactly he was going to do, how many lights we needed to put up, why we needed x amount of lights. He even put up string lights for our cocktail hour. We hired services of Dashing Events for our wedding on 2/28/15. D.J. Maha came over all ready to rock and roll. He told me that based on general trends usually only 20-30% of people in the party participate in dance floor :( That would have made only few people on the floor for our party. They actually arrived early for the set up and did a wonderful job. The guests thought it was a great idea and they all loved the take home souvenir. After reading some of the poor reviews of the competitors, I was concerned about finding someone reliable. I was lucky to be referred to such an excellent and professional company. One competitor said they not find staff on the holiday. The technician they sent also was accompanied by the owner, mr. Ohmead, very polite and conscientious. He included all our requested artists and songs, and the array and going back and forth between songs geared more towards our Persian guests and songs more for our non-Persian/American guests was flawless and perfectly-timed. He was very in-tune and perceptive with the flow of things. O is also very responsive before your event with emails, which is the only way I contacted him other than our face-to-face initial meeting. I would highly recommend him not only for Persians, but couples with one person who is non-Persian especially if you want to have someone knowledgeable and experienced with Persian and other music, of which we incorporated jazz, hip-hop, and current top 40 music among others. His MC'ing was also spot-on- so O was perfect for us, and we highly recommend him. We only wish we could have used his uplights if we had more room in our budget- check out his website pictures- they have a gorgeous effect in pictures. We used Dashing Events for uplighting, photobooth, and deejay services for our wedding in August. Uplighting: Dashing Events best work at our wedding was their uplighting. They did an incredible job and I would recommend them specifically for this service. They created a warm, glowing feel to the room. Photobooth: The photobooth picture quality was great and they worked with us to create a template with the font we wanted for our names on the photobooth strip. All of the guests loved the photobooth and the props were good. Deejay: Both we and the venue were surprised and disappointed by the deejay. Our interaction with Dashing Events up until the wedding was great. Dashing Events is a well-organized and professional events company and they have a website where you can write in details about what songs you want and what you want the deejay to say throughout the night. My husband and I are also organized people and we were very detailed and thorough on the website. However, DJ Omead (DJO) forgot a lot of REALLY important parts that were explicitly written and we had talked about on the phone just a few days before the wedding. He messed up the names during the grand entrance (after he went over them with us right before), I had to remind him about a game that I had asked him to do with the guests before the grand entrance (a bride should not be reminding anyone of anything that day, especially when it's all written down AND you talked about it), he forgot to explain the father-daughter song (it's a Persian song and since it was a bicultural wedding, we had asked him to interpret the title of the song and say a few words about it. He kept saying "I got it, I'll definitely explain it" on the phone but totally didn't do it. In our wedding video, I don't get up to dance with my dad right away because I'm waiting for DJO to explain the song so it's a little awkward), and he forgot to play a choreographed family song (we had asked him to play an Arabic song right after the father-daughter song for the groom to dance with his family. He completely forgot to do that so the groom's family actually approached us at the wedding and were all confused (and offended, rightfully so) about why we had skipped their Arabic family dance). This was all so frustrating, especially when all of this was talked about for an hour on the phone and written down! And to make matters worse, DJO didn't even apologize or admit to forgetting any of it, which was really unprofessional. Instead his response was "I'm doing the best I can" which is sad if your best is to forget a bunch of very explicit details. To look at this broadly, DJO plays good music and can keep the crowd dancing, which is great, but you know a vendor cares about their clients when they actually spend time to read what you have written and pay attention to the details that you work so hard to put together to make your wedding special. A DJ is not just playing music at your wedding, but making announcements and MC-ing, so they need to prepare beforehand (especially when you have a multicultural wedding) and we definitely didn't get the feeling that DJO spent too much time preparing for our wedding, and for that reason we wouldn't recommend him. read more

Oh my gosh..I don't even know where to start!! My Persian husband and my American self were in a unique situation when looking for music for our wedding. Expecting a 50:50 crowd, we decided to go in a different direction than the typical Jewish Persian wedding and hire an American band and a Persian DJ. When we told our coordinator about the decision, she told us there is only ONE Persian DJ we should work with in all of LA, and that was DJ Omead at Dashing Events! Let me start by saying we have been to a lot of Persian weddings and seen a lot of Persian DJs. However, we have never seen a DJ that has read and amped a crowd quite like Omead. He is SIMPLY amazing...hands down THE BEST!!! We did a 'typical' Persian ceremony where we danced down the aisle and Omead NAILED the timing for all of our couples on their songs. People are still raving!!! He spent HOURS with us choosing our music and helped us make every decision along the way. During our reception, he did an AMAZING job complimenting and contrasting the band's sets, and EVERY transition was seamless. During one of the Persian dance sets he even mixed some of the Farsi songs with English songs - I have never heard anything like it!! It was INSANE!! Our guests were all going crazy! Aside from keeping our dance floor packed until the minute our last song played, Omead did an absolutely outstanding job on the lighting for our wedding! We got married outside after sunset and he lit up the ceremony site so miraculously. It truly felt like a dream. All of the lighting/draping he provided for the reception exceeded all of our expectations! He made every vision come to life!! Also, our florist kept saying how impressed they were that his standard centerpice lighting was double pin spots! Omead was an absolute asset to making our day a true success! After 12 years of business with Omead , my engagement party last month and many negative feedback a that I received from guests and my own parents I still tried to have his back and say that I loved his services .... However unfortunately With the competitive market , dealing with a Dj is a small part of planning events and should be smooth and without arguments or negative drama. Unfortunately this DJs uppity attitude does not match up his services. Some DJs are so amazing that in this business you are willing to work with the entertainers attitude to have what you want and this one was not . Even though for the purpose of not burning bridges even after a lot of going back and forth for an inquiry about my future wedding Which went south as soon as he knew I was going to hire another singer and band aside from him , he changed his quote over and over and it just ugly way too fast. Anyone who knows me even him with all of the tips and everything my family had given him should have known that money is no option. However , it's the way you go about an inquiry that matters. after his shocking responses I still tried to be positive and asked him to look over his past emails and get back to me even though I had already booked another Dj , not to not lose him as a Dj because that was not my agenda, was to simply not burn a 12 year old business friendship.... It is so sad to see people behave this way or change after their business started to peak... DJ Omead is THE BEST! He is an energetic MC and gets the crowd going! He came to San Diego for my wedding and is more than happy to work with you. He was easy to plan with (planning from SD) and I actually never met him until the big day! My husband met with him a week before the wedding and said I was going to love him. We also got a percussionist and it was awesome! He allowed some guests to play on the drum which people loved. We used a photo-booth through dashing events and it was a HIT! Everyone loved snapping some pictures throughout the wedding with the fun props. We also used the LED lighting and they were amazing! My florists had her own but I told her the type DJ Omead offered ( I have no idea about lighting) and she said those were the best and to go with that. DJ Omead and his crew are very professional and reasonable. We did not hire a wedding coordinator so his pre-formatted itinerary is what I used to plan my day. When it came to the wedding itself, all I really needed was his services. Our wedding was a fusion of both Persian and Ecuadorian cultures and DJO was great in mixing in the "Latin" & Persian music. We used Dashing Events and Omead as our lighting vendor and to do pipe and drape for our wedding. To sum up in Omead's own words: "we're not certified electricians nor claim to be". I wish I had known this before- I would never have booked them. Their prices are competitive, but it was not worth it for us. We used a private family residence as our venue. The fuses blew throughout the evening leaving our guests in the dark. Omead blamed this on inadequate power. Dashing did not express concern over the power during the initial walk through or during the install the night before. Aside from the many lighting issues, we also had issue with the pipe and drape. We were working with the city for our permit, but apparently it was news to Dashing that the drapes needed to be flame retardant and have proof of certification. This not only held up our permit process, but then Dashing tried to charge more money for flame retardant drapes. I cannot recommend Dashing Events or Omead for lighting services and continue to regret using them. read more

As we never seen DJ MAZ at a wedding prior but we were so thrilled with his skill and ability to play and randomize the music in a way that kept everyone dancing the night away! We're a young couple (25 years old) & having MC George was the cream on top! I highly recommend the MC/DJ duo it was perfect. The lighting was kind of dull I thought it would be a bit more hidden but I feel like it was done in a way where everyone could see it, I wish it was a less subtle, but understand we had a huge ballroom that needed lighting. The director at Dashing events called me two days before we went over our timeline it also helped we had a coordinator but he was always prompt with emails, phone calls and texts too! We loved our wedding night and can't wait to see our video to recapture all the wonderful moments. Shout out to MC George you were so personable and knew some of family members name by heart which was awesome! wow!!! Omead was beyond great!!!! He not only was awesome the day of the wedding but he helped me throughout the planning process! I didn't have a wedding planner so he helped me do my timeline and was on the phone with me for over an hour! As we spoke he took notes of EVERYTHING we talked about! The day of the wedding he did the most amazing job ever!!! All of our guests had so much fun but SPECIALLY my husband and I! Best wedding ever!! I spent a bit of time searching for the right DJ for our August 2015 Persian/American wedding, and I was thrilled to find Dashing Events! Considering that half of our guests had never before attended a Persian wedding, it was really important to me that our DJ that not just throw in the occasional American song, but really engage all guests. Dashing Events came through (and, indeed, completely exceeded my expectations). MC Tehran kept everyone thoroughly entertained (his Persian dance tutorial for our American guests was a riot), and DJ Maha kept the music fun and engaging. They were both true professionals, as were DJ Omead and Shannon (who handled the admin side of our contract).
