Great place to go have a beer and a burger and hang out. Coffee shop atmosphere with so much more. Excellent breakfast sandwich as well if you are looking for a place to spend the day on the computer, this is the place for it downtown. read more

The food was great, amazing grilled cheese and tomato bisque followed by and excellent beer selection. Poor service though.

Great beer selection! The food is always consistent and good. The tomato bisque is great and also the roasted beet salad. I wish there was more seating outside though. Seems like only 3 small tables isn't enough. read more

Our new favorite restaurant!!! Soup is amazing. Had the beer cheese soup and Philly cheesesteak sandwich, wife had tomato bisque and chicken portobello. Beer selection awesome. Wife liked the local bird-boy, I liked the three floyds. Bread pudding was to die for. read more

I liked this place for lunch. I had the split pea soup and the smoked salmon on bagel. Both were good. Try it

Great food, friendly staff, clean, and open environment! I love this place! Very affordable in the heart of downtown Fort Wayne!

Amazing grilled cheeses!!! Awesome service, highly recommend stopping by for a quick casual bite.

A cool laid-back spot with a great selection of beers, friendly service and...I just finished the gourmet grill cheese and it was fantastic! Honestly! You'll like this place! read more

Good place for breakfast and lunch downtown. Full menu, but gets a little crowded and loud.

The best grilled cheese ever and wonderful vegetarian menu options. Great beer selection too

I can't speak to the dining experience, but I stopped here while I was in town for business to sit at the bar for a few drinks. I was not really impressed with the service here. When I arrived on a Wednesday night around 7:30 pm, I sat at the bar and waited close to 5 min for a bartender. When she arrived her opening comment was, "did you decide what you want?" I was the only person sitting at the bar and don't think she said more than a few words to me while I drank my two beers. Decent beer selection - that was all I took away. read more

Best casual place in downtown Fort Wayne.

Cafe latte and cafe mocha are absolutely delicious. Great customer service, they are super friendly. Nice atmosphere. I went for simple egg bacon and toast and my husband had their the dash breakfast and said its really good. It's a walking distance from The Hilton hotel and the Courtyard so most definitely super convenient place to eat at. Highly recommend this place!!! Don't even waste your time looking anywhere else. We also had lunch there. Don't order the Cobb salad, it's a mess. I should have gone for their grilled cheese selection - still regretting that decision. Their tomato bisque was AHMAZING. Go there and enjoy their coffee and food. They had a crazy selection of beer. read more

Was at the Dash for a business lunch yesterday. The waitress was rude and her service was horrible. I won't be going back! There are other places downtown that will treat me like they want my business. read more

They have really good food at unbelievable prices. I got the cheese toastie and soup. Delicious.

My highly anticipated, first time at Dash In was definitely not the same as most people rave about. Myself and three friends had a very rude wait person who begrudgingly waited on us throughout our lunch. As well, even though my friends had "good" lunch paninis and burgers, my brunch item was lukewarm and the "biscuit" for the biscuits and gravy appeared to be a microwave heated English muffin, which I could neither cut through with a knife OR eat. In fact, when I made mention of it to a man walking around asking how things were, he said, "what is that?!" and "I'll need to throw it at him", when I asked him to show this to the cook. I've been to many other "hip" places like this, especially in San Diego where they seem to get the concept of Customer Service and pride in serving good food. If Ft. Wayne wants the downtown to become "vibrant and alive", I suggest some changes at the Dash In, or go back to becoming a coffee shop, which you were successful at in the 90's. read more

The tomato bisque is simply delicious. Attentive staff and plenty of vegetarian options.

Awesome food at an affordable price with that downtown coffee shop vibe. Love this place every time I come here!

After reading the other reviews, I'm confused to why the management still allows the majority of the staff to be so unprofessional. At my last visit the service was slow and awkward, I waited forever for my food, and the music blasting from the kitchen was especially loud and annoying. The waiter who brought our food was the only staff to seem to know what they were doing. Outside of the daily specials, the menu is pretty boring and overpriced. Dash-In, GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER. read more

Love this place wish I would have known about it sooner! They have great beer and great coffee. Every time I have been the service is absolutely wonderful! The food is priced really well and tastes are great! My favorite lunch place in Fort Wayne. Thanks you! read more

I had a server who was very prompt however, he did not make the attempt to genuinely be friendly. The restaurant itself is nice as far as the scene. read more

This place was just so SOLID. The food was great (grilled cheese- they have tons of gluten free options), Micah was a pro server with good timing, and the atmosphere was a perfectly rare mix of relaxed and professional. Visiting town and I might come back tonight for dinner, too. read more

Great food. Great service. Wonderful selection of craft beer on tap. Awesome live music on the weekends. All-around great place to eat, drink, enjoy entertainment! read more

This place is nice breath of fresh air for downtown. The choices are definitely unique, and I really love how fresh everything is! I've really liked everything I've tried, and I usually go for a daily special around lunch time. The sandwiches are delicious and the hummus plate is great! We sat outside and it was a great experience. read more

A wonderful Fort Wayne gem! There are few things more charming in the Summit City than relaxing in the intimate patio area of the Dash-In, soaking in the sights and lights of the city, while enjoying a long sip of something fun from the generous beer list (in bottles, cans, and on tap) that this establishment provides. Like art? Its here. Like music? Here. Beer, wine? All here. Enjoy! read more

I've been going to the Dash for years. Their pesto and bruschetta grilled cheese sandwiches are always great, and I love stopping in on Saturday mornings to get eggs benedict for brunch. The staff is usually pretty cool, and the atmosphere is pretty chill. It's a good place to stop and eat if you want a lighter meal, and is great if you just want to hang out with a smaller group of people. read more

Stopped in for a quick lunch bite. Liked my smoked salmon eggs benedict. The smooth sauce with salty salmon was delicious. Side of fruit was fresh. Friendly service. Would come again. read more

The music is awesome! Food is great! Their humus is out of this world, we got a sample platter of different humus and goat cheese..........O!M!G! It was delicious! They have a huge selection of beer and the staff are sweet and helpful. Great time and food! Go there! You will be glad you did! read more

The best Reuben and the friendliest servers I've had in all of Fort Wayne. Great grilled cheese options too!

I LOVE their food. The service is hit or miss. My mom is something of a regular, so they often recognize her, but it is still spotty. It has gotten somewhat better in the last year or two. It is seat yourself at lunch time, but they don't necessarily make that clear if you don't already know it. Most of the staff is friendly without hanging over you, but they do seem to have a few surly ones. My go to meal: the pesto grilled cheese with the tomato-basil soup. DELICIOUS. Everything else I've tried is good too. But, I always go back to that. read more

The food was good, fast service and friendly! The Creme Brulee was very very good! I recommend it!

This used to me my "go to" spot as I'm a vegetarian with food allergies. I'd turned my boss and other people onto this place. All of that's changed. My boyfriend and I were meeting up for dinner here the other night. I felt completely invisible. Before I was even acknowledged, people that had come in after me were already receiving their food (true story). I didn't worry about it too much because my boyfriend was a few minutes late, but even he was irritated with the long wait. When we finally received our food, I began mixing my salad and found a piece of lettuce that looked dirty... As in, it had bird $hit on it. A large splotch of white and yellow ochre.... It couldn't be confused for anything else. My boyfriend said, "Yeah... that's definitely bird $hit." We sat there waiting for at least 45 minutes for the waitress to reappear. I showed her the lettuce and when she returned she said, "I showed it to the manager and she said it was just powder from the latex gloves they use in the kitchen. We can take it off your bill if you'd like." Um, yeah, I'd better not have to pay for a salad I couldn't eat because it had bird guano on it. I also didn't appreciate them trying to blow smoke up my a$$ either. And as if we hadn't been through enough, we had to sit there and wait for our check and then for the server to come back around and pick it up. It was ridiculous. I'd forgive the long waits as an issue with the waitress, but the contaminated lettuce (and the b.s. explanation) was completely unacceptable. read more

As our attention has turned to Fort Wayne's downtown and the expanding restaurant options available, we have had the opportunity to discover the places we previously ignored. The biggest surprise for me is the Dash-In. After six visits in four months, this might be my favorite place in town to go. Located in a storefront on Calhoun, it is unpretentious and concentrates on what patrons are looking for in any restaurant, i.e. excellent food and professional, friendly service. Our last visit was prior to a TinCaps game. Meagan, our server, was extremely helpful as we chose an appetizer and meals. Without hesitation, we accepted her recommendation to go with the bruschetta. What we received was a plate of perfect Italian bread topped with fresh, beautifully prepared bruschetta. The bread was placed on a swirl of reduced balsamic vinegar that was so good, I used my finger to eat what remained once the bruschetta was finished. Although we ordered the appetizer to share with a couple who was joining us but running late, my husband and I finished the entire plate of appetizers before they arrived. For entrees, two of ordered the flatbread of the day that was covered with black beans, chicken, bacon, various vegetables, and cheese. Both of us raved about the perfectly prepared creative dish. I've discovered in the past that Dash-In knows how to prepare flatbread but this was a step above any I've ever tasted anywhere. It was so unique, creative and stunningly delicious, I intend to watch the restaurant's website to be there the next time that flatbread is offered. My husband always finds his favorite meal on any restaurant's menu and sticks with it visit after visit. At Dash-in, he has hit on the pulled pork. He ordered it one again combined with restaurant-prepared chips and was so pleased he wouldn't allow me to even take a forkful of what he describes as the best he has ever had. That says a lot considering he has had it all over the city. The fourth guy at our table went with tomato bisque soup and salad. His partner got to taste the soup and they agreed it was excellent. Meagan, our server, and the kitchen staff worked seamlessly to get us finished and to the baseball game on time. She earned every penny of the 25% tip we added to our reasonable bill. I left the Dash-in looking forward to our next visit because there will be one! read more

Come here for coffee and potato chips. Don't order the food. The website and decor are great. The food is awful. I came on a Saturday afternoon and ordered a veggie sandwich and a spinach salad. The salad was in a tiny bowl, with one slice of a Roma tomato and dressing in a ramekin. There would have been no way to mix the salad in this tight bowl. And spinach sticks as it is, especially if it came from a prewashed bag. So...One bite of the tasteless salad and I was off to the sandwich. When I ordered the veggie option and hummus, I was thinking "healthy." When I came, I realized the chef had a different vision...It looked like a grilled cheese sandwich. Picture thick, dry sandwich bread pressed together with grease. It was tasteless and mushy. The espresso was good. The demitasse cup was dirty, and the waitress didn't bring sugar, etc. If you are looking for a place to sit and do some reading, it's a great option. Eat before you go. read more

Go for the art on the walls, leave when you realize that is all the place has going for it. I've been a Dash Advocate since I started regularly going there four years ago, and it breaks my heart to say this, but I will not be returning any longer. The service has become absolutely and unforgivably horrendous. The Dash is one of those places that I go to, have a bad experience, wait a month, and then decide to give it another shot, only to be again disappointed again. Dash, I remember when you were my favorite downtown spot to grab a beer, a burger, and delicious cold asian salad. Now all you serve is disappointment. read more

Just had breakfast there. I love this place because the atmosphere makes me feel like I'm young and hip! (I'm not!). Hubby had the breakfast grilled cheese. I had crab cake egg Benedict. YUM! read more

Such a pathetic customer service fail. A first good visit (jalapeno popper grilled cheese & tomato soup) was followed by this dud. I ordered a "blackened yellow fin tuna steak, apple wood smoked bacon, guacamole, lettuce, roma tomatoes, and a lemongrass aioli on grilled ciabatta bread". What arrived was a sandwich with cold raw tuna (think sashimi) that had been nowhere near a saute pan, no bacon, and no guacamole. When I asked one server about it, he responded that he did not do the cooking and that the flecks of black seasoning on the tuna were probably the "blackened" part. My regular server was perplexed and agreed to take the remains to the kitchen to see what they would say. I told her I did not need the WHOLE thing back. Five minutes later, the bartender came to tell me he was "100%-ing" me. Fine. Thank you. After that, no contact whatsoever. No do-over of, say, half a sandwich. Noone asking me if there was something else I would like. In fact, they studiously avoided eye contact. I waited for an Uber and left. Such a pity. The corn chowder was delicious, therefore one star. read more

Tasty. I got the falafel burger. I'm not into beer but this place had that brick-y, hipster, craft-beer-on-tap look and feel to it, which I know a lot of people appreciate. read more

The tomato bisque soup is really good, as is the cesar salad. The waitress was a bit flaky (I never did get the hot tea I asked for) but pleasant enough. Service was quick. read more
