My wife expects 5 star resorts and she said this place exceeded the typical 5 star experience. The bedding, linens, amenities were awesome. They had live music and great food and drink options at the head cabin. Every cabin felt private and unique and the babbling creek and ponds along the Creekside were so relaxing to sit by with lots of Adirondack chairs overlooking the creek and rocking chairs on the cabin porches. We also chose this place because they allowed my Australian Shepard to come (only some cabins). The whole experience was amazing and only a 5 minute drive to the main strip. Don't miss a tour of Signor Vineyards, a 10 minute drive West. The most beautiful vineyard and cool experience!

Beautiful cabins / bungalows, the owners and staff onsite were very nice, friendly and helpful…read more The restaurant onsite is nice, decent food, good wine/prosecco list, friendly staff ... when we had questions about anything, owners, staff were quick to respond and it was only 2 blocks away from Main Street, Fredricksburg.... * Only recommendations: would recommend about putting a couple air fresheners (i.e. plug-ins, etc), in some spaces... to help with the old wood smell, some areas gave a strong moldy smell, which is normal for old wood. I understand that the cabins are old, and authentic but it would help a little. I would also recommend a little better dusting, around window sills, and windows/curtains, a fair amount of dust that came off, every time we closed the blinds or pulled the curtains. That is the only reason I rated it a 4 instead of 5.

Here's what I like about staying here: 1. You're on Main…read moreStreet, but you're west of Marketplatz so it's fairly quiet. You can walk to all of the attractions on Main without a problem. 2. Even though this is an entirely unhosted B&B, there's enough personal touches to make you feel welcome. They do the little things like writing "Welcome (my wife's name)!" on the key card folder, or leaving a folder filled with things to do including a live music schedule for places in town in the room. 3. The coffee cake they leave in the room is delicious, and there's just enough stuff in the fridge to get you started in the morning. There's cereal in the cupboard and locally ground coffee. The bath products are local. Again, it feels like somebody cares here. 4. The hot tub was fantastic. 5. Even though several cabins worth of people decided to hang out in front of our cottage one night, as soon as we shut the door we couldn't hear a thing. My only quibble is the air conditioner is a little undersized for the room, so after a hot summer day it took a long time for the room to get comfortable enough to sleep. But once it does, we slept well.

Absolutely perfect. We reserved 6 cottages for 12 of us more than a year before the Eclipse…read more Communication during the whole process was phenomenal--my wife found Stacey very easy to work with--prices reasonable and not raised due to the eclipse. Check in was clear, lots of extra coffee in the rooms and even champagne in the room for my wife's bday. The grounds are beautiful with rocking chairs on the porch for all cottages; hot tubs are clean, and hot. Nice central area with more chairs (perfect for eclipse viewing). Each cottage is unique but all have a frig, plates/bowls, silverware, OJ/milk/pastry every other day and many have their own hot tub. Location: just far enough from downtown crowds/noise but walking distance to everything. Beware, the two cottages by main street are noisy as big rigs drive though all night. King beds are very comfortable, many rooms with couch/living space, plenty of parking. The only thing we found difficult was what to do with all of our trash (pizza boxes, wine bottles, etc!). If we ever visit Fredericksburg again you know where we will be staying.

We went in…read moreto this knowing it was on a busy road, but that was one of the bonuses, because we were in walking distance of everything. We really only heard traffic during the day, it was pretty quiet at night, and day traffic didn't bother us. We stayed in Winterberry, and we sat on the cute porch in the evening with citronella (my boyfriend is a mosquito magnet, lol) and lightning bugs. The bed was a little more firm than we were expecting, but we still slept fine. I should also preface that we sleep with a box fan on low for white noise. We were there during the week so there wasn't really any noise from other guests, only a few people were there. I will make note that you can see straight down into Winterberry from the door of the second floor cabin next door. We forgot to tell Debbie, the manager, about that, but it can easily be fixed with a simple window covering. There was no one in that room while we were there so it wasn't a big deal. Debbie was truly delightful, very sweet. She brought the biscuit basket we ordered for our final morning. The biscuits were really very good, they come in the cutest setup, with the biscuits sitting on a bread warmer. Great experience overall. If we vacation in Fredericksburg again, we will definitely stay here.

The staff could not be more helpful and friendly. The only downside is it is located on a slightly busy road with bright lights that make it hard to darken the interior. If you need to sleep in the dark this can be an issue. You also might hear loud trucks, cars or people nearby.

For years, I've visited Fredericksburg and every time we passed this lodge, we fantasized about…read morewhat it would be like to stay there. It looked so inviting and cozy from the outside. Thankfully, we found out that it's not quite as expensive as it looks, and we could afford to stay there, so we did! The room was wonderful and very comfortable. I love the stone wall! Only qualm I had was in regard to the shower/tub. The jacuzzi tub itself was amazing, but they put a "rainshower" head above it for showers. First of all, it was a regular showerhead pointed straight down, not a rainshower like those positioned that way should be. A sign asks you to utilize the shower curtain properly so there is no water damage... which is impossible even when using the curtain. It's just a very odd setup. There will be water damage just of how the whole thing was designed. Worst about it all, was how high the tub itself is- if you are in any way disabled (be it permanently or temporarily injured) or elderly, you are going to despise this tub/shower. I'm a 34-year old fit and active person, and I struggled getting in and out of this thing. It's awkward to start with but then add water and oh sh!t, you're going down for sure! We used the stairs for the bed and put them in the bathroom for this reason but it didn't help much. Other than that, everything else was spectacular. The staff was friendly and helpful. We took advantage of the fireplace which was SO cozy! Perfect for the chilly nights we had. They supply firewood and firestarters so it's very easy to make your own. During one of the days, it was warm enough to enjoy the pool too. Breakfast gets delivered in an adorable picnic basket and it's loaded! We expected the norm of simple breakfast options like mini boxes of cereal and muffins. Nope! Hard-boiled eggs, fruit galore, prosciutto, cheese, danishes/pastries, oatmeal, and yogurt. It was different every day and delicious every day. Treat yourself and stay here! You'll be glad you did. If you fear the wacky tub/shower, don't choose room 10. That's where we were but all the rooms are unique and others may have a better layout in the bathroom.

The room was appointed in beautiful old world charm. It had a huge king size bed that sits high off the floor, an old hard wood cloths wardrobe and night stands on each side of the bed. It was also furnished with a couch that pulls out into a bed and also a coffee table. The bathroom was great , it has a huge jacuzzi soaking tub that easily accommodates 2 . I had to use the step stool provided for the bed to get into the tub. I am only 5'1 and the tub is so deep that it's hard to get into. Yes here is not much counter space in the bathroom to put toiletries but we made do. There is also a fridge , microwave and coffee maker in the room. The grounds are well kept and the pool area is so relaxing. In the outdoor lounge area there are comfy couches and a fire place. Breakfast baskets are provided every morning and were a great touch. It was an amazing weekend and we will definitely be back.

Think about an olden house with modern amenities like fridge, hot tub, TV, microwave, and electric fireplace. Thankfully, I didn't even have to churn my own butter. Just a few miles off the strip we arrived at the barn. One of four options when staying at the farm. Makes no sense to even beat around the bush, the goats, nearby donkeys, and the deer....WE LOVE THIS PLACE! Provided breakfast food from Lupe included casserole style muffins with sausage, eggs, cheese, and hash browns. Next days breakfast was similar with ham, eggs, and cheese muffins. Both served with sour cream, Serrano based red salsa, and fresh fruit from the local HEB. Nothing like strawberries and cantaloupe with a pinch of table salt. Again, old school meets modern. I knew the salsa wasn't made by a German! Finally, we escape from our own personal ranch to get away from our extremely needy cats and child. What do you get as temporary residents of said property? Old Mouser Cats! The herd was 60% I'm not even gonna let me touch followed by a few tidbits of love and screaming into the door you just entered to settle down. PET ME NOW!!! Sweet creatures. Made this weekend perfect! Note the Yelp pics of the diverse movie selections for your viewing pleasure. Young Guns was still in the DVD player followed by the wife's selections of murder mystery...murder mystery...followed by the local forecast. Hot tub was used by the wife; I had to abstain due to a recent surgery. Next time we visit the barn we will be in full force!

FABULOUS. So much love is present; it felt like we were being hugged, so much love was put into making every part of our stay just wonderful. Kate helped me with the reservation and stayed in touch by email to give me all the details. The directions were perfect. (Thanks Kate) We arrived, went to our cottage as instructed and immediately knew it was a super good choice. Skip, the owner, came over to see us about 15 minutes after our arrival. He walked us through the "how-to" for staying, operating things, where to find the coffee grounds, etc. The fresh baked bread Skip provided was delicious as was all the food during our stay. (Dona says to mention the chocolate cake provided for the afternoon snack - it was to "die for" she says). Skip said he and Kate were both available during our stay but would honor our privacy. Our stay was FABULOUS. This is beyond five stars. Thank you so much Skip and Kate. I hope everyone gets the chance to meet you and spend some time in a cottage. We hug you right back!!
