We were passing through Düsseldorf for half a day and saw they're known for their Japanese food, so we decided to check out Takumi! They have both indoor and outdoor seating available. AJITAMA TONKOTSU RAMEN: I'm a tonkotsu person and almost always order this over other types of ramen. Not sure if I was just so severely deprived of Asian food, but I felt Takumi's tonkotsu ramen ranked pretty high on my list! And coming from SoCal as well as having lived down the street from both major Japanese food hubs in Los Angeles, that's saying a lot! Good amount of pork, the noodles were cooked to the perfect texture, and the broth was rich without being overly salty. I don't usually enjoy other types of ramen so I can't speak for those items from their menu. But I slurped my entire bowl of tonkotsu ramen dry! KARAAGE: Large pieces with crispy exterior and super juicy interiors! I wasn't expecting much but in the end I was super happy we ordered this. Overall, amazing tonkotsu ramen located in Düsseldorf's Little Tokyo.

Be sure to order it with vegan noodles if you want it vegan. The ramen came out in about 3 minutes! The portion is reasonable, with really nice, firm, al dente noodles, one piece of bok choy, a few slices of raw tomato, 3 pieces of fried tofu, and shaved green onion. The broth is of course what tends to make or break a ramen, and the broth here was excellent: nutty, lightly spicy, complex, without being too heavy. Really authentic tan tan men broth here. Not exceptional, hence the 4-star review, but damn impressive. I'd prefer some better toppings (e.g., replace the tomato with something like menma, kikurage, or something a little more authentic). Very friendly, appreciative Japanese service. Definitely recommended for great vegan/veggie ramen.

Gyoza waren maximal ok. Bleibt beim karaage und takoyaki Ramen technisch auf keinen Fall was scharfes, dann direkt Standard miso ramen.

Vegetable ramen 4.5 max stars if I could…read more Takezo offers a solid and enjoyable vegetable ramen that stands out for its thick flavorful broth. The broth has enough depth to support two extra servings of noodles which says a lot about its richness. The ingredients taste fresh and the bowl includes greens corn sprouts and tofu skin that all blend well with the noodles. The portion size is medium and works well for a casual lunch or lighter dinner. The service is where the experience feels more typical of Germany rather than what you might expect from a Japanese restaurant. The staff is not very attentive and the overall service can feel slow or indifferent. There is no English menu available which may be challenging for some visitors. However you can still get by with simple English and a few basic German phrases and the staff will usually understand enough to take your order. The restaurant itself has a straightforward casual vibe and the food quality is consistently good. The ramen is the highlight with its strong broth and reliable flavor. If you are craving vegetable ramen with a thicker broth and do not mind the slower service Takezo is worth a visit.
