    Slightly spicy shoyu ramen
    Chantee F.

I wasn't prepared to wait over 30 minutes at Takumi so popped in here instead. It was busy but open tables. Menu selection has ramen and other dishes if you're not into noodles. I went with the spicy kara shoyu ramen. It was just the right amount of spice, not crazy hot like tantanmen. Good portion of noodles although they could be served harder. A couple of pork slices, bamboo shoots and green onions for €10. I added an egg for €1.20. It was a good meal, accompanied by Asahi beer. Service was fast and I enjoyed watching the kitchen. They were busy cleaning and cooking, quite a lot of attentive staff.

    Veggie ramen - So GOOD!!!

Found this ramen shop while walking around Little Tokyo. I wasn't sure what to expect after finding out they only serve pork or veggie ramen. I opted for the veggie dish and boy was I surprised!!!! I can still taste those flavors!!! So deliciously amazing!!! Possibly the best ramen I've had all year!!! It's insane that I'll have to make a trip back to Germany the next time I'm craving Takezo!

OK ramen close to the central station. It doesn't get too crowded and the service is fast, so it's a good pick if you have a train to catch. The menu is pretty expansive with lots of combinations (including spicy versions). It's worth noting that the prices are at least 1-3 EUR more than other ramen places in the area. I was feeling traditional and went with the regular miso ramen (9 EUR) and added an egg (+1.20 EUR :( ). Super pleased when the waiter gave me free tap water without asking! However, the broth tasted overly salty to me and I had to drink a lot of that water to balance it out. Toppings were OK (spring onion, bean sprouts, corn) and pork was fine (not lean though). Interior has a bar vibe. If you have time, I'd recommend waiting it out at Naniwa for cheaper and better tasting ramen. But Takezo is an alright choice too.

We were passing through Düsseldorf for half a day and saw they're known for their Japanese food, so we decided to check out Takumi! They have both indoor and outdoor seating available. AJITAMA TONKOTSU RAMEN: I'm a tonkotsu person and almost always order this over other types of ramen. Not sure if I was just so severely deprived of Asian food, but I felt Takumi's tonkotsu ramen ranked pretty high on my list! And coming from SoCal as well as having lived down the street from both major Japanese food hubs in Los Angeles, that's saying a lot! Good amount of pork, the noodles were cooked to the perfect texture, and the broth was rich without being overly salty. I don't usually enjoy other types of ramen so I can't speak for those items from their menu. But I slurped my entire bowl of tonkotsu ramen dry! KARAAGE: Large pieces with crispy exterior and super juicy interiors! I wasn't expecting much but in the end I was super happy we ordered this. Overall, amazing tonkotsu ramen located in Düsseldorf's Little Tokyo.

Be sure to order it with vegan noodles if you want it vegan. The ramen came out in about 3 minutes! The portion is reasonable, with really nice, firm, al dente noodles, one piece of bok choy, a few slices of raw tomato, 3 pieces of fried tofu, and shaved green onion. The broth is of course what tends to make or break a ramen, and the broth here was excellent: nutty, lightly spicy, complex, without being too heavy. Really authentic tan tan men broth here. Not exceptional, hence the 4-star review, but damn impressive. I'd prefer some better toppings (e.g., replace the tomato with something like menma, kikurage, or something a little more authentic). Very friendly, appreciative Japanese service. Definitely recommended for great vegan/veggie ramen.

Gyoza waren maximal ok. Bleibt beim karaage und takoyaki Ramen technisch auf keinen Fall was scharfes, dann direkt Standard miso ramen.
