I have been renting here in Portland for the past 3 years and its getting harder for me to find a…read moreplace that ticks most if not all my check boxes. So I decided to look around for residential properties. The most important thing when buying a property are your financials but the second most important part that is finding a realtor. Yes its important to know their track record but its equally important to find someone you have chemistry with because this is not just a financial transaction but personal one as well. Buying a home will not only test your bank account but will test your mental, emotional and physical faculties as well. You need to find a realtor that has a proven track record, "gets you" and will do what it takes to get you the best deal. I am not an easy breezy low maintenance client. I am very analytical, I ask questions, hands-on every step of the way and most importantly I have extremely high attention to detail (written and verbal). It doesn't help that I can get emotional at times. What made this more complicated is I found my dream home but it was almost twice as much as what I was initially willing to spend. The stress, pressure and anxiety was through the roof. Jeff was the perfect match for me. He understood my style and complemented me. He is an extremely good listener. A trait that you seldom see these days which is how he is able to provide very good insights and helpful advice. He answers every single question I throw out there and I do send him a lot. Towards the end of the transaction when nerves were getting frayed and emotions were running high from both parties, Jeff impressed me on how he handled the situation by doing a selfless deed to appease both parties. I have worked with a lot of realtors and have fired a lot as well. In fact, I first signed up with a very popular realtor who runs their own company and is the principal broker. I was dazzled by the beautiful office, the talk and impressive portfolio. I signed up with them and within 5 days I realized it wasnt the best fit for me. We would have driven each other crazy and we might have lost the deal. Im sure they are a good realtor but were not the right match. I sent Jeff the list of 20 questions I sent my ex realtor and I like how addressed them better. My advise, interview a few and even dare to test drive by going to a few properties with your prospective realtor. If you are not happy with your realtor move on and find the right one, even if it takes you 2 or 3 or 4 or whatever it takes. At the end of the day I work hard for my money and so should my realtor. Jeff has earned every single penny of his commission plus this glowing review. He truly deserves 5 stars. I would use him again in the future and have already recommended him to a few folks. Behind the realtor is also an overall nice guy.

My partner and I were searching for our first home and he treated it as delicately as we did. We started our search from living out of state and he visited ever single house that were were interested in and even took videos for us to consume. He didn't have to do that but it was clear that he was committed to helping us find a home that met our needs without any agenda of his own. He was exceptionally patient with us, communicative, and offered a high level of expertise. His experience showed through our entire process and without it we would not be in a home that we adore. Prior to working with Brian I was frustrated by realtors who were not very responsive. This was not the case with Brian. He either answered my calls or called me back within 20 minutes every time. I had a similar response to emails (sometimes I'd get a response late at night). Brian carefully guided me through the selling process for my home. I particularly appreciated his insight as to the required, least costly, upgrades I needed to make in order for my house standout and sell quickly (which it did in a poor market). On several occasions Brian worked with me as we went to Home Depot to determine the right brand/color for carpet, wall paint etc. I would have spent much more on my own. I don't know if I would have sold my house this summer w/o Brian's help. Obviously I strongly recommend his services.

Man, what can I even say about James Adair? If you are reading this review wondering whether or not…read moreyou should work with him, YOU SHOULD. HE IS AWESOME. I was an incredibly anxious, first-time homebuyer in 2014. I was terrified of the financing falling through because of a tight timeline. My husband and I were attempting to bump a contingent offer and everything was on the line. We were out of a month-to-month apartment, and if things fell through with our financing, we'd lose our dream home AND have nowhere to live. I was quitting the worst job of my life to start a new one, and was working a lot of hours. Long story short: James' team made the entire process easy and seamless. Working with someone local was paramount. When I made a few mistakes with documentation and paperwork, I was able to just drive it over to their office to make it right in less than 24 hours. They even stayed after hours to make sure I could drop things off. They were comforting and reassuring and really listened to me, and most importantly, they got the job done. Now, fast forward 6 years later. I'm very thankful for the equity I've built in my house and the updates James still sends me about it! I find his emails legitimately helpful and they keep me motivating to look at the big picture of my finances. I can call him to ask his advice about financial instruments and how different choices might impact my property value upon eventual sale. He still listens sincerely without rushing, even when there's no immediate profit in it for him. James is in this business of the long game. He will help you buy this house and, if he can, your next house and the one after that. He's a relationship lender in the truest possible sense and I would send any close friend or immediate family member to him without hesitation.
