Sailing on Moreton Bay is accessible with great clubs like the Darling Point Sailing Squadron. This club has a great history, established in 1927 at Darling Point when it was known as the Imperial Junior Sailing Club. The club moved to Fairlead Crescent in 1978, and focusses on getting kids out onto Waterloo Bay to learn to sail sabots and after that, skiffs. Adults are encouraged to improve their skills and maybe try racing at a senior level, but the focus is on affordable family fun on teh water.

The Squadron sails most Sundays in spring, summer and autumn until April, and monthly during the colder months. Other water based community groups also use the squadron's facilities, including other groups where you can learn to sail from scratch. That would be me. All you have to do is be able to swim 50 metres; I think I can, I think I can... See the website and for more details and why not just go along to have a look? read more
