But the way they treat their employees wellll not so good…read more Went in today for lunch and these girls who work there were just talking up a storm about another fellow coworker. Saying she got what she deserved. My understanding is the girl got in trouble with the boss and as a Punishment he made her unload watermelons basically humiliated her in front of her coworkers. One girl was heard saying let's see what her blood pressure is now started laughing. I guess people never leave high school!! When I was leaving the poor girl looked like she was about to pass out her face was beet red. So my takeaway is if someone has medical problems (just going by what I heard them girls say) we punish them?! Make that make sense plz. I also don't know how the coworkers can work in a place that feels like an oven. I won't be back and I will be letting people know what I saw. I will not eat somewhere where the employees get treated bad. DO BETTER!!!!

I loved the pasta. The lavender cookie is a must try. The subtle hint of lavender in the shortbread cookie just takes you to a peaceful place. The service was good. My only complaint was the server never ask if we wanted a refill on our drinks. The food was brought promptly. The gentleman who took my reservations over the phone, was above par. He was very friendly and very accommodating. I appreciated his willingness to work with our request, as I was coming from Indianapolis. This is definitely a place you can go to get a nice lunch and really feel at ease and peaceful. No cell phones here. They request you keep them away and enjoy your environment. Which is very inviting. The outside is so tranquil; just sit and see all the wonders around you. The trees, birds, flowers, ahhhh. If you've not been, I would recommend calling in and making reservations. This restaurant should be on your list for: Things to do.

Call me old school. I like a farmer's market to have fresh local produce. So, I was happy to see…read moreVanAntwerp at the local market in Zionsville selling fresh strawberries and lettuces. VanAntwerp Farms are out of Seymour, Indiana. Today, they were selling spring produce. The lettuces were huge and beautiful. I counted four different varies plus kale. The strawberries were so fresh that I had to pick up a quart at $8. The clerk was friendly and worked quickly to keep the line moving. He gently bagged my strawberries. The strawberries were delicious - one bite took me back to my childhood of eating fresh picked local berries. The berries were perfect, dark red and super juicy. You have to get there early to get the lettuce - it goes quickly at only $4.

VanAntwerp's Farm Market has been around in one form or another since 1977. It makes a regular…read moreappearance at Statehouse Market and is easily one of the market's more popular vendors. VanAntwerp's is based in Reddington, Indiana about 5 miles North of Seymour and their 50 acres of farmland produces tomatoes, zucchini, cucumbers, peppers, green beans, winter squash, pumpkins, eggplants, lettuce, berries, cantaloupe and watermelons. They bring practically all of it to Statehouse Market - it's incredibly high value produce at fair prices and with super friendly service week after week. Owned by David and Kim Sturgill, VanAntwerp's is also known to bring plants and other items to the Statehouse Market. I'd say they're one of the most consistent truly "farm" type vendors. The employees are always knowledgeable and can help you select the correct items for your needs. This includes being able to explain different types of tomatoes and other fruits and vegetables. I haven't experienced VanAntwerp's outside of Statehouse Market, but I've never heard a bad thing about them and never bought a bad product from them. So, if you're in the downtown area on Thursdays between 10:30am - 1:30pm, stop by the Statehouse Market and you can pick up remarkably fresh veggies. I highly recommend both the cantaloupe and watermelon, though I've heard raves about it all!

But we missed the turn-in, and instead of doubling back, my fiancé suggested we check out a food truck he spotted earlier. So glad we did -- total hidden gem! The person taking our order was super friendly, and a family member helping out also had the kindest eyes -- such a warm vibe overall. We ordered steak burritos and a steak quesadilla, all $11 each. My fiancé paid in cash (no tax!). If you do pay with credit, there's a courtesy sign that tells you that there is a $1 fee for card payments, which is still really reasonable compared to what I'm used to. They gave us complimentary veggie sides that were incredibly fresh -- the cold, crisp veggies paired with the hot burrito and quesadilla made for a perfect balance. I only tried one of the sauces, the green one with cilantro and jalapeño, and OMG -- yummmmm. The food itself was super tasty, and the owner even offered grilled onions, which I declined but really appreciated the gesture. There were a couple of folding tables -- one had three chairs, the other had two -- enough to sit down and enjoy our food comfortably. All in all, a spontaneous stop that turned that had my brain cells tingling with joy.
